Le Creuset Kettle Kone Black

$159.90

(1,187 reviews)

Hob top kettles can be an environmentally friendly alternative to an electric kettle. They last for years and can be very energy efficient as well as adding a rustic note to your kitchen. The Le Creuset Kone kettle is made of top quality enamelled steel which is built to last. The broad base made of strong, thin steel allows the maximum transfer of heat from the hob to the water for rapid boiling. The integral whistle lets you know when the water's boiling and can be swung out of the way at the flick of a finger for pouring. The large black handle provides great grip and keeps you hands well out of the way of any hot steam. It folds down for easy storage when not in use. You can fill the kettle through the wide spout or remove the lid which has plenty of space to make cleaning out limescale a breeze. This kettle is suitable for use on all hob types including induction cookers and Agas. It holds a generous 1.6 litres of water, enough for morning coffee or afternoon tea.

Purchased Feb/Mar 2021 - Received first one broken. It may have broken in transit but I contacted customer service and they sent out another one. My order date was February 19th and I was finally able to have functioning one by the first week of March. The whistle is loud and can be heard from all corners of our house. It heats up fairly quickly. We use it everyday and so far it is doing the job of a kettle fairly well. I have a few times have grabbed it too quickly after reaching the boiling point and opened up the spout cover to pour the water. I would recommend waiting at least 20-30 seconds or you'll get a big splash of hot water. The handle was quite tight at first but after using it almost a month, it has loosened up. It is easy to clean and I don't mind having it out on my stove all the time. We previously had the enameled kettle from Le Creuset and didn't like how it had scaling after a year for the price. We've had both electric and stove top kettle and have found most require replacing after a year or two. I'm hoping ours, the stainless steel version, will last longer than 2 years. If it does, then we will likely purchase another of the same or look for another more dependable one.

I love this kettle. The handle stays upright and does not get hot. It was a bit tricky working out the max fill on the outside as the inside is black but we worked out to fill below the spout. I wish they wouldn’t put stickers on the kettle, especially on the underside that has to contact the induction stove. It was really difficult to get the glue off and I was worried it would take off the enamel. Otherwise very happy with this kettle.

I bought this stove top kettle in meringue a couple of weeks ago in an effort to reduce our electricity consumption a little. It is a beautiful kettle, heats up quickly, has a nice whistle and pours nicely.I was very impressed with this kettle until today when the spout cap/whistle fell apart. I've tried putting it back together but it is loose and still not right. Not so sure the kettle is worth it's high cost with this design flaw. Disappointed that I will need to return/exchange the kettle and the nearest JL stocking this colour kettle is miles away.

Cheap Kettle
7 February 2023

The kettle is very cheaply made & basically just has a Creuset sticker on it. The sticker is about to fall off after about two weeks of use btw. Absolutely not worth it. Charge more and have a decent product made in Europe. I just realized upon receiving the box it’s made in Thailand.

Claude
3 January 2023

Bought in black to reflect the black chimney stack on our ivory Aga which looks so classic, and once home immediately named it Claude - with a french accent, of course. The whistle is somewhere between a purr and a wheezing wind blown through a recorder. Nothing shrill, but not exactly delightful! Ah well. It could be worse. Boils decently in 4/5 minutes or so on our Aga boiling plate. We have hard water in our area - lucky the shop assistant asked before we left - and we were advised not to leave water in it overnight and to give it a vinegar rinse to regularly to remove mineral deposits, ensuring Claude lives a long, happy life. The lid comes off with a gentle pull, but not dangerously easily, while still holding the handle when refilling. It felt less heavy than it's 2L big brother, and considering the weight of the water, glad we went with this one. I find it mechanically sound and sturdy, and pleasant to use and look at. It's somehow a work of art.

Internal Corrosion
19 August 2023

Purchased this item to complement our new Bertazzoni oven at the end of Dec 22, by Aug23 the Internal coating was flaking off and corrosion was quite heavy. We do not expect this lack of quality from a manufacturer such as Le Creusetand we will not purchase any of their products in the future. Extremely disappointing.

Pretty good product
10 December 2022

It's hard to find a decent hob kettle so this was definitely the best we could find. It's attractive and stays very shiny. Slightly industrial styling for our taste but works well on our induction hob. Lid is very tight fitting which is good but can be challenging if you don't have strong hands! Water can squirt out if the kettle is overfilled so you need to be careful.

Stylish and fabulous
20 November 2022

I'm loving my Le Creuset Kone kettle. It works perfectly on my induction job but is amazing on top of my little wood burner. It boils really quickly on there and the whistle feature is great. Saves electricity all day as I just keep the kettle on ready to go. Highly recommended.

Stylish good quality kettle
10 December 2022

Bought to use on my aga and very pleased. Good solid flat base for efficient conduction of heat and a nice loud whistle meaning it isn't likely to be forgotten about and allowed to boil dry. The whistle flips up easily and safely for pouring. Nothing not to like really!

The Kone Kettle
10 October 2022

We love our new Kone Kettle! Such a cute shape, and the colour perfectly complements our glass stovetop and kitchen. The handle folds to the side for ease in filling the kettle. The top stays securely in place when pouring. We let the water boil to hear the whistle once, but in day-to-day use we don't usually bring our water to a full boil. We used to have an electric kettle, but we swear the water tastes different in stainless steel. This kettle doesn't impart any flavours into our water. Good job, Le Crueset!
