Big & Beautiful!

I've been looking at this for a year, and finally got it. It took a few tries to get one without a manufacturing defect (4th one was a charm), but I'm glad I persisted because it is amazing! I have a few other sizes of dutch ovens as well as a braiser, but I know I will get so much use out of this one. I already made bolognese in it and can't wait to make chicken stew with dumplings, chili, beef bourguignon, pot roast, etc. I only wish it came in more colors. I chose Lapis and it is very pretty, but would love it even more in Caribbean or Teal. If you could only choose one Le Creuset to buy, this is the one - it can do it all!

After purchasing one for my daughter for Christmas I fell in love with this piece! After reading reviews, I upped it to the oval as many commented it was easier to fit larger pieces of meat, chickens, etc. The clean up of this is incredible and things get so tender. (Barkeeper?s Friend is a perfect way to eliminate any remaining browned areas). The only downside is the weight - if you?re gonna use coated case iron, it?s gonna be heavy. The bigger the pot, the heavier it will be. Colors for everyone. Wish I had bought mine years ago!

I love my beautiful Marseilles-blue Dutch oven

There are tons of different sizes of Dutch ovens out there, especially with Le Creuset. I settled on getting the 8 qt. Dutch oven because of the versatility. My plan was to make fancy bread in it. I've now done that in this one and I love it. You don't have to buy a round dutch oven to make bread. The size and even the weight work for me. I think the 6.75 quart version would have worked, too, but I just love this thing. Also, I was so happy to find it on sale with Crate & Barrel. It wasn't available in my area and so it was shipped to me. I had to contact customer service about a small delay, but it was rectified quickly by a very nice person. An actual human being! Not the service I’ve come to expect from this company

I’m honestly disgusted at the extremely low quality assurance levels of this particular item.It looked like a customer had returned it after using it for 10+ years.I have been purging Le Creuset for at least 30 years and have first hand knowledge of their strict & very high quality standards. I have waited a long time to start my own Le Creuset collection. I love to cook, and I've always heard such great things about the Le Creuset brand. However, they are quite pricey! I finally decided to splurge on the 5.5 Round Dutch Oven - and I am so glad I did! I've made stuffed peppers, marinara sauce and a pot of soup so far. It warms up quickly and cooks so evenly - its amazing. On top of everything, clean-up is a joy. It just wipes clean. I purchased the Meringue color and it is gorgeous! My biggest decision now is whether to collect all the same color - or mix them up! Either way, my collection will definitely be growing.

It took two tries to finally receive my item. Love the French grey color and the width. Was given this as a Christmas gift and it came four weeks late after saying it would come on 12/17. When it arrived, in a large half opened box, the side was cracked all the way through and a big chunk of the enamel on the outside was missing(didn't even know thiswas possible). Had to take it back to the store, came home and was ordered another by the gift giver. Came in a week but said it was delivered and it was not. Had to scour the neighborhood and finally found it at a condo complex in the neighborhood. The Le Crueset box on the inside was all chewed up but the product seems fine.
