I have been using my Le Creuset for 60 years! It was given to me by my mom when I got married. I have always loved it and always use it. There is a distinct difference in the taste of anything you cook that is better than any other set of cookware. I accidentally found this out the first time when I had a French Dinner Party and cooked Coq au Van in 2 caseroles One being Le Creuset. The other just a good cookware. The difference was astounding !!! I gave the guests the one in the Le Creuset and family the other! They raved about the dinner non stop. I have never had anything happen to any one of them. I highly recommend this product ! Who ever heard of something lasting that long!!!!

I love cooking in this pot so much. It's no surprise that Le Creuset is so loved by so many. It cooks like a dream and makes "font" so well, unlike any other pans I've ever used. It elevates all my cooking. But the number one reason I bought this item from C&B was another experience I had with them: I bought mugs many years ago. I love them but 2 had broken handles. I came to the website to see if they still had them and saw that other people had complained of the same issue. I added by review and within a day, a customer service representative had contacted me and had send me 2 replacement cups, even though it had been several years since I'd bought my mugs. I vowed then and there to buy my next Le Creuset from C&B because their service is top-notch.

If I had it to do over, I might possibly consider the slightly larger 6.5 qt. size, but for the most part, I'm totally happy with 5.5 qts and I really haven't needed larger. This size is lighter and easier to handle than anything larger, and easy to clean/rinse in my sink without worry of dropping it. I love this pan so much I later bought a smaller 3.75 qt. version to hold whatever is left over from my first preparation, after half of what I made is eaten. The small size is useful to reheat the food I made in the larger pot, or to cook many other things, and I like having them both and find that I use them pretty equally. If I could only afford one, it would be the 5.5 qt. size. Beyond fabulous, and I'd give this Dutch Oven 10 stars if I could.

Not sure if there was a glitch in pricing as I don't recall seeing a Le creuset Dutch oven sale at Nordstrom as low as half off original price let alone the 9 qt. It was not on sale last year. Then again, I am new to Le Creuset brand. I imagine they either caught the glitch or oversold. Disappointing for sure. Even though I do not own the 9qt Dutch oven, I'm very pleased with the quality of my 5.25 qt. I purchased it last year on sale. Although a bit heavy, it's easy to clean. I prefer to hand wash but it's apparently dishwasher safe. I love the ceramic coating and that I don't have to season the cast iron. Heats evenly throughout. Great staple piece to have and to pass on to children. Would love to add the 9qt if it ever goes on sale again.
Since my retirement, I have been immensely enjoying being able to spend time in my kitchen. Having been married for 54 years, my original cookware was wearing out so I decided to purchase a “Dutch Oven”. The reason was their versatility and sturdiness. After much research, I settled on the Le Creuset brand, known for its quality, sturdiness and come with a life time guarantee. It came in a range of beautiful colours. It has not disappointed! The succulent casseroles and dishes that are coming from it are delicious and tender. Baking bread in it was a huge success! It has become a mouth-watering asset to my kitchen.

I remember a time when Nordstrom prided itself for "great" customer service and this does not seem to be the case any longer. As many reviewers have mentioned, I too waited until the black Friday to purchase this product and mistakenly chose Nordstrom to buy it from. Few days after the sale was over, I got an automatic cancelation order email and when I called the customer service and requested Nordstrom to honor the sale for a different color, they refused. This is not really good customer services specially when the issue seems to be from Nordstrom's end and their inability to update the products on ... I bought this pot in February. I used it for braising a few times and found the liquid escaped rapidly. After careful inspection the pot has four lobes in the lid, probably from the casing process. However, one of these is more pronounced than the others making the lid not fit correctly. When I try to boil water, steam escapes in this area rapidly to the point it seems like the lid is set at an angle. I filed a warranty claim and was told the issue is not covered by warranty, so now I have a very expensive pot that is basically useless for any task requiring a lid when cooking. I would not ever recommend buying a product from the company. I hear Staub makes some high quality Dutch ovens and may even be willing to stand behind their products when they are not made ...
