The sauteuse is a beautiful pot from Le Creuset. Itâs a wonderfully versatile piece and I really wanted one in ocean. That meant I had to order it from Williamâs Sonoma. Their shipping wasA headache. The first shipment was packed very poorly and arrived broken. Usually Williams Sonoma is fantastic, however, the interactions with customer service have left a lot to be desired and I most likely will be shopping elsewhere.Buy this in store if you can. Itâs not worth the runaround if yours arrives poorly packed and damaged like mine was.

We were excited to purchase our first le Creuset product. We chose the Classic Whistling Kettle in Cherry Red. While it is a really gorgeous looking kettle and has a lovely whistle, I was disappointed in the colour. Instead of being vibrant shades of cherry red (as it seems to show in the photo), in person it is really quite, well ⊠orange. If Iâd known that Cherry Red = more of a dark orange, I would have ordered the Agave colour instead. Also the spout doesnât pour super well (lots of water on the counter if you pour too slowly). All said, however, itâs a jolly looking kettle and the sound is nostalgic. Itâs also pretty clear that the product is well-made. It looks beautiful on the stove.

This pan easily replaced several All-Clad pans we use. It is much easier to clean, and the double handles are so helpful. You can make anything from breakfast to seafood in this pan, and the best part is that it cleans up so easily. I typically get frustrated cleaning my stainless steel pans, but this is fantastic. You can't beat the gorgeous colors it comes in, and the quality is what you're expecting from the Le Creuset brand. This pan is a fantastic value compared to the skillet if you don't need the pour feature.

WellâŠ.the only thing right was the color. I got a tiny (8oz?) version of this pot for my $400. Very strange. The small box even appeared to have an authentic sticker for the 4.5 qt pot that I ordered. The customer service rep was very nice and refunded my money (after they received the returned mini pot; personally I think they should have just given it to me for the shock of it all. I was pretty stressed about this. ) This was a huge splurge for me, but maybe the universe is sending me a message. I will not be reordering.
I made a point of reading all the instructions, even though I'm an experienced cook, because Le Creuset is supposed to be one of the BEST, and I wanted to make sure I used it properly. The very FIRST time I cooked on it, I used a low setting (as suggested) and regardless of the type of food; protein, carb, fat, etc. it stuck to the pan. Not just sticky, wipe off with a sponge, but stuck on- ENGRAINED in the pan itself! I used the pan a few more times just to make sure I wasn't losing my mind, but it is definitely an inferior product. It looks like the coating was sprayed on so thinly, that it makes the pan virtually useless. Someone at Le Creuset thought they would save money by putting on less surface coating to save a few cents and then NOT PAY for the return ... MoreI made a point of reading all the instructions, even though I'm an experienced cook, because Le Creuset is supposed to be one of the BEST, and I wanted to make sure I used it properly. I've been cooking with Le Creuset skillets for 50 years, and they're worth every penny. They work well for stove-top cooking/searing to oven baking/roasting, such as steaks and salmon, or frittatas. We make all our enchilada fillings in Le Creuset skillets, with multiple vegetables and meats being sautéed separately, before being sauced together. The skillets are easy to clean by hand washing, then lightly rubbing with oil. They are incredibly durable; in fact, I'm still using one 48-year-old skillet.
I couldn't wait to get this baby out of the box, and use it. I've been using Le Creuset cast iron skillets, for years now, but I wanted to invest in better cookware, and purchased a small Dutch oven (2qt), and this Cassadou (both in chiffon pink đ)This Cassadou quickly became my go-to, for ALL things. I've fried chicken, pork chops, and baby back ribs. I've made one pot pasta meals, and homemade gravy. I've even used it to bake homemade cinnamon rolls in, and I'm telling you, it cooks PERFECTLY every time. I plan on using it for my Mississippi pot roast, instead of my slow cooker, and I'm sure it'll taste even better. My mom's birthday is in April, and I plan on purchasing a Cassadou for her. I debated about size, and finally chose the 5.5 quart one. I think it's perfect for me in preparing recipes thatmake enough for 4 or 5 people. I wouldn't want larger. Usually I'm cooking for just two of us, and I can getenough made for two separate meals, if not three. The weight isn't that heavy, it's easy to handle, pick up,and clean. When you cook with these Le Creuset dutch ovens, you have to modify your use of high heat. I havea gas stove, and I keep the flame at medium to medium low, and many things once heated get turned down toa low simmer. The pan cleans up like new every time. If you let it cool, then fill with water to soak for 5 minutes, whatever is on the pan will come off with no effort at all. I hand wash, then dry the pan. With this kind of careful but not difficult care, the pan will continue to look beautifuland like new. I bought my pan in the beautiful dark teal color, which seems to now be discontinued. I alreadyhad a bunch of wood and silicone cooking utensils, and I don't plan to use metal except perhaps a soup ladle, which wouldn't scratch the pan anyway. The ceramic interior is very strong, but I don't want to risk scratches. This pan and this size is highly recommended as it's big enough but a manageable size and weight.
I canât recommend this pan highly enough. I bought the 10 1/4 version and will be purchasing the 12â as well. I rarely write reviews but this pan deserves it: after 3 months of almost daily use I love it! I have many All Clad pans, their most expensive version, as well as older Le Creuset pans and Staub. This new frying pan surpassed them all for daily sautĂ©ing and frying, itâs simply marvelous. Le Creuset coating has GREATLY improved, canât emphasize it enough. Donât know what they did to it but the difference is very tangible, and for the better. Almost hard to believe any product has changed for the better, usually itâs the opposite these days. I have owned Le Crueset cookware and wanted to gift the 5-piece set to my daughter who recently moved into her own home. I ordered the "Shallot" set. The set was delivered on September 12th and my daughter quickly realized it was the wrong color. Every piece was "Flame." I contacted customer service to submit a return and replace request. I received the shipping label and instructions. My daughter returned the set. On October 16th, my daughter finally received the replacement set. Upon her dismay, the 5-piece set was again in the wrong color--Flame.I have once again contacted customer service to submit a return request. If they can't get it right, this time, I'm done. It's truly unfortunate because I love the quality of cookware, but refuse to pay for the wrong color.
