One being ancient beasts and dinosaurs and the other being inventions. I believe in years to come inventions will be a great addition but we purchased dinosaurs which so far seems OK. Its a little less specific to areas but no less entertaining and havent fully explored it.It was easy to connect to the computer as the screen on the globe gave instructions when it was ready for us to do something! Once downloaded software and purchased dinos it was easy to download to the globe.I think this will be a gift that will be used and looked at thoroughly for years to come. Other reviews said about having to buy add on info packs but there is already a ton of info so I won’t be buying. The noise level is pretty loud at normal volume and the monuments function is a bit fiddly as the icon is quite small in some countries. The wand could have done with being a little bit longer as well but these are small points. The info is in English and from the BBC archives so is accurate. I don’t feel it is worth £80 but compared to the reviews of other globes I am glad I did not feel ripped off either. There are a few very minor inaccuracies that I can cover with my kids when they can understand but as a KIDS globe this will provide loads of fun. I would like the wire for the pen to be longer and the globe to illuminate but that doesn’t takeaway from the toy too much. Overall would recommend: I would say best for 4+ but any kid/adult will learn something from this so there’s something for the older ones too.

We’ve been using this toy for over 2 weeks now. I’m amazed at the sheer volume of information contained within a single educational toy. Hours of exclusive videos to be watched on the small but quality resolution screen not done justice by my pictures. Along with the option of purchasing adventure expansion packs! 10 learning categories and a special mix it up option! My 4 year old has used this toy daily. If I do not remind her to take a break she will sit quietly playing for over a hour with this globe. She’s came and told me animal facts, language facts and who built the Chinese wall and where it is located! It comes with the ability to change the brightness of the screen and lower the volume for independent play or crank it up to share! I’m looking forward to getting the expansion pack and seeing how much more they contain. My only wish list item would be a headphone jack! Regardless I would purchase this product again if it ever needs replaced! Leap frog has certainly outdone itself with this one!

Amazing gift

we went in store in November to check out potential Christmas gifts. My 5yr old kept walking back to this globe playing with it. He asked Santa for it and now it sits on our counter where he eats and learns. Tonight I was showing him pictures etc in Japan on my phone and he mentioned the mountain is called Fuji 😳. I couldn't believe he remembered that. 🥰 it's amazing the confidence they get when they learn. we tried to get expansion packs but it wouldn't let me. The amount of facts per area is very limited. I'm hoping once I can get expansion packs there is more to learn.

Good solid 3

This is an okay globe. Its a fairly descent size and bright colors. All maps have tiny print so thats to be expected that this is the case with this glove. So far everything we have had to review has been accurate. The cord for the stylus could be longer or maybe even wireless to avoid choking hazards. Also it is light weight so tends to tip over and can be awkward to manage. Im glad I got this on sale because the sale price makes it more justifiable. Ive had no problem with the video. Good volume and good clarity with a backlight. Ive had a few issues with stylus response which may be too sensitive at times.

Great price but hard to hear voice with music

My son has been asking for a globe since he was 3 and I finally bought this one for him because he's old enough. He really loves it and we are quite excited about the breadth of content which will take a lot of time to get through and retain. I am disappointed however at the quality of the sound but mostly the background music which makes it harder to hear the spoken "lectures" -so for anyone with auditory or sensory issues, this will be frustrating to deal with the constant loud music over the spoken voice. Also, many of the islands (clearly labeled) are not picked up by the pen.

Initially loved and was excited for this purchase, now disappointed

Bought this as a fun addition for homeschooling my 4 youngest children. They have used it lightly when I bring it out here and there. Fast forward into the new year I was wanting to incorporate its use into the curriculum a little more, to our disappointment, it won’t even turn on . I have tried a new cord and 2 new sets of batteries. Nothing ! There is no option to return the globe in my Target app . With older kids , away in college , being a one income , homeschooling family as well, this was a happy splurge turned huge disappointment. 3 stars because it was great until it wasn’t, and I definitely expected a much longer life out of this for the cost and from this company.

Makes learning fun!

I love that it not only discusses the basic facts about countries, but also teaches about native animals, languages, landmarks, etc. My favorite feature is the "Quiz" game, which allows for up to 2 players and was even entertaining to play as an adult!
