This is the most simple of tools. Pliers, knife, bit driver, and carabiner is all you get and need. The knife came very sharp and the pliers, while small are capable for minor tasks. I use the Skeletool for when I don't feel like wearing a belt and want to keep the smallest amount of things possible in my pockets. This tool does have it's limitations so do not use it when a task calls for a Surge. My only dislike is how in it's current version, the pliers are missing replaceable wire cutters and the shape is a bit uncomfortable in your hands.

The item fit into my Leatherman just as it should. Although, the screw holes in the printed block were way bigger than the screws included. I ended up shimming holes the holes to give the screws purchase, and gluing them. Otherwise, it's an OK print—seems solid. We'll see how it holds up to hammering and prying as it is intended. Overall, I'm happy with the add-on. Just wish I didn't need to do any mods myself to make it work.

Great everyday carry tool. It only has 4 of the most essential tools (pliers, knife, screwdriver and carabiner/bottle opener), which may seem underwhelming, but all 4 are effective in their respective functions:- The knife can easily be opened, unlocked and closed with one hand and while it's not very long, it's very sharp and functional.- The pliers are not meant to replace those on a full-size Leatherman (i.e. Wave, Charge or Rebar), but they're serviceable. They will cut wire, tighten and loosen bolts, remove fish hooks and splinters, among others.- The driver isn't the most comfortable out there, but the versatility of the interchangeable bits more than make up for its lower comfort (in my opinion) when compared to other multi-tools. There is also a clever locking mechanism to hold the bits in place and a slot in one of the handles to hold another one. The tool comes with 2 double-ended bits (one has 2 Phillips heads, a #1 and a #2, the other has 2 flat heads, a 3/16 and a 1/4). Overall I think the driver is a handy addition to this tool.- The combined carabiner and bottle opener is brilliant in my opinion. When used as a bottle opener, it is obviously easy to access (no need to search through the tool to find it) and quite effective since the entire tool is used as a lever. The carabiner clip opens up a whole new world of carry options - the tool can not only be carried in a pocket (it comes equipped with a pocket clip) or in a sheath (sold separately), but it can also be clipped to a belt loop, a lanyard, a back pack, a keychain and the list goes on.The Skeletool is my favorite every day carry knife/tool. Don't let the price detract you - it is well built and Leatherman has a great warranty in case of problems.

Great tool. Blade seems brand new. But really like the custom holder. Funny to mention, Leatherman holsters arent typicallyleather. My preference. Already broken in and fits like a glove
I actually quite like the serrations. They are perfect for an EDC tool! I have to cut rope at work and sometimes what I'm cutting through just needs some slight sawing action but that's where the serrations come in handy!! The wire cutters work great! I've used them to quite electrical wire and they have no issues. It is super light! I wear it on my hip and I don't even notice it's there. The warranty from Leatherman is amazing! I accidently broke the tip trying to pry something and it broke. I sent it away and they replaced it! Having an extra screwdriver bit in the handle makes it really handy! I keep the flat bit/Phillips bit combo in the driver part and a square 1/square 2 in the handle. The pliers are definitely light to mid weight. They are pretty durable and ... MoreI actually quite like the serrations. They are perfect for an EDC tool! I've carried and used this tool every day for 3.5 years. Not the exact same tool mind you, I'm on my second replacement (more on that later). It offers all the features I could want for an everyday tool once the included bits are swapped out, I currently have a hard to find #2 robertson/flat bit and a #1 Phillips/#2 Phillips loaded. I've removed the clip as I've had the tool get snagged out of my pocket when using it. The carabiner is also prone to roll-out so I wouldn't store it anywhere except safely in your pocket. The blade can be opened and closed easily with one hand although the pliers and screwdriver are a two handed operation. The bottle opener is forever handy. It really is a great tool for those that want a knife mostly with pliers and a screwdriver ... MoreI've carried and used this tool every day for 3.5 years. It really is a great tool for those that want a knife mostly with pliers and a screwdriver occasionally*Now for the bad stuff. *Long story short, do yourself a favour and spend the extra money on the CX version (also available at MEC). The blade on the base model is glorified cheddar cheese, the serrations are garbage, it doesn't hold an edge (twice weekly sharpening) and because of the serrations you can only regularly use 1/2 the blade further exasperating the problem. The tip of the blade cracked off on all 3 I've owned within a couple of months and total blade failure was the cause of death for my first two (snapped off at the front of the thumb hole on both). I have no doubt it will be the demise of my current tool. I won't be sending it in for replacement when it fails again despite the excellent service provided by Leatherman, instead I'll buy the Skeletool CX as I should have in the first place for its higher quality 154CM straight blade. I therefore cannot give it a recommendation. Attached is a picture of my second replacement that has been in use since Oct 2020.
This is my 4th Leatherman. I’m on the hunt for the one that has it all and does it all but isn’t too big and is comfortable to handle. This is getting pretty close.I have had the Supertool for a few decades and it is great but the edges on the handles back then are a bit hard, which makes crimping a bit uncomfortable. The Surge is much better in that regard. And so is the Skeletool.I also prefer not to have to open the entire tool to get at the blade, like on the Supertool or using 2 hands, like on the Juice.I wouldn’t mind having scissors or a saw and a file, but then we get back into bigger tools or not a one handed blade design. So far I have had use for all the tools on the skeletool and have only really missed the scissors once. While I was at the office. Where we have lots of scissors.Mind you, the blade is super sharp, so in most cases it can do what I need scissors for.I foresee this being my everyday carry for quite a while, with the odd time where I will bring out the Juice for an evening or the Surge for going places where we won’t have access to other tools.
I really do love this tool. It made it right into the first position for my everyday carry. It fits perfectly into my right pocket without much bulk at all. It has the top 4 things that I use almost everyday: knife, pliers, screwdriver and bottle opener. That it! Don't really need anything else on a quick grab tool. If I do, I will just grab a much better tool. Speaking of this, other than the knife, the tools are really for light work. Not super reliable for consistent work. For example, the pliers are manual open and close, and fairly small. The screwdriver bits are small, so as to fit in the small storage (they can be lost easily too). The knife is great and will be used the most, which will allow for this tool to stay in my pocket over just a knife that would be ... MoreI really do love this tool. However, this knife is easy to open with one thumb flick, it locks great, and can be closed with one hand. It is also very sharp at the moment, and has a straight and serrated blade. Love it! I like the deep carry pocket clip and the a simple carabiner to attach to belt loop when using a lot. Overall, love the tool. I like the color and design. It is fairly light and holds well in the hand.
Been carrying this for almost a month and have found myself using it everyday. Having pliers available has been a game changer. And doing it in a lightweight package makes the Skeletool a huge win. I’ve carried a bunch of knives through my short lifetime, Spyderco, Benchmade, Kershaw, Microtech, etc. and they’ve all been great knives and I still own those knives. But the convenience of having a multi tool that weighs a little more or as much as a knife I already have, plus having a similar footprint as said knives, there’s no reason I shouldn’t carry the skeletool everyday. Now is it perfect? No. If it had a pair of reliable scissors, like the ones from Swiss Army knives, then we would be inching towards perfect. But it definitely does a lot more than only having a ... MoreBeen carrying this for almost a month and have found myself using it everyday. Having pliers available has been a game changer. But it definitely does a lot more than only having a knife, and it does it very well. I’ve come to find that the skeletool is also very customizable. There’s a huge market that offers aftermarket modifications you can add to the tool. I’ve seen mods where you can add a hammer/pry tool to the end. And even seen guys add the aforementioned scissors. Possibilities seem endless. Should you carry it everyday in place of a knife? I don’t know, that’s up to you. But should you give a try and see how you like it? I’d say absolutely and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
