Absolute beast. Have had Victoronox in the past. Though the fit and finish may be better. This gets the job done. Compared to charge model I find the surge to be a do it all option. Paired with the Leatherman crunch, you can honestly take on any job. Highly highly recommended. Was curious about oxide but ended up with the satin finish. Cheers! Thank you altitude team for the amazing customer service!!!

This is a replacement Surge to replace a lost one. It’s been updated, quality seems to match my old model. One nice thing on the updated model is that the wire cutters are replaceable. Price was reasonable, shipping was awesome.

It’s a great tool to have on hand but the fit and finish could be better. There are some gaps between some of the components that shouldn’t be there but they don’t affect the functionality.

This is my third and largest Leatherman. I keep it in my vehicle and have it ready to go whenever needed. Leatherman quality is top notch and the features in this tool are amazing. Though a lot as specific as some of the other models (like with wire strippers), this tool has everything I’d need for day to day requirements and is great to have around the campsite.
I use a multi tool daily as the caretaker of rental property. The Surge definitely has everything I need for minor maintenance needs in a pinch, however is a little heavy/bulky on the belt for daily wear. I’d recommend this model perhaps in a kit or pack. The quality, heft and design is excellent. No hotspots on the plier grip. The case is top quality with a snap (not Velcro which can weaken over time and come open unexpectedly). Overall very happy with it. If it was a little lighter and had more tools with quick access on the outside edge I would give it 5 stars.
Great all around tool. Bulkier than the wave but more solid for sure.
This Surge is an outstanding multitool. It's smooth to operate and the amount of utility packed into it is mindboggling. I suggest you watch some YouTube videos to get familiar with all the ways you can use it. For me, it has one feature in particular which makes it the clear choice over smaller models like the Wave and Charge. The T-shank adapter which fits the file and saw will fit essentially any jigsaw blade. This is unique and to me extremely useful, not to mention COOL.The nylon sheath is very nice also. Well built, it fits a bunch of accessories as well, like the ratchet (highly recommended).
Exceptional quality. Well rounded selection of tools. Returned because it was too large to be a daily carry.
The Leatherman Surge is a really big workhorse of a multitool. I’ve been a fan of Leatherman for years and also have the Wave plus, Signal and Skeletool. They all work perfectly. The Surge is the most beefy of them all. The knife is razor sharp, the scissors are bulked up and sturdy. The handles are ergonomic and feel great. It is solid and well-built. I look forward to years of great use out of it.
great tool but the quality is not what ive grown to expect from leatherman.. both blades have a fair bit of play when in the locked position, the black oxide finish comes off wuite easily compared to other leathermans ive had with the same finish and then pocket clip attachment aswell as the outer fastener its attached to has a gross amount of play and doesnt seem very secure. build quality/attention to detail seems to be seriously lacking for an almost $200 multitool
