Lee Filters 100mm 100x150mm Graduated ND 0.75 Soft

I have a round graduated ND filter, but of course it's fixed and can't be moved up and down. I really wanted something that I could actually hand-hold and adjust as the occasion called for, so I opted to go with this brand of 4x6 filter as it was reasonably priced (all things being relative) and I had read good reviews about it. I used it extensively during a recent vacation out at Glacier National Park, Montana, and it worked like a charm. After 4-1/2 days of constant use, it still looks clean and scratch-free, and my photos are sharp and beautiful. Of course, because I hand-held this filter rather than use any type of holder for it, I did have to clean the smudges from it often, but that was not a huge issue with me.

Even in the digital age, a graduated ND filter can often save the day. Combining a bright sky with a darker foreground is often a challenge. A soft grad such as this is a great tool to make such a composition work. Always be careful how you place the grad. Best done when using your depth of field preview.

I purchased this product as a trial prior to spending major dollars on this filter system. works very well with the holder. I was able to produce great pics and save time on retouch.The filter holder also works well with the polyester sets which I use alot.This is a great system and B&H provides great service. The only negative is that B&H has a hard time keeping inventory.
