The new Renegade was a great build and with no stickers it was fantastic. My child and I built the set. The playability and robustness of the set are exemplary. The problem lies in the material for the windscreens… upon receipt they are already scored and it wasn’t noticeable to most but the time it took to build had my focus shift to the small details. I ordered my set from LEGO Japan and the care in delivery is always the best. The package was unscathed but the damage was from the canopies just shifting in the bags.LEGO Japan is working my parts issue and LEGO Japan is taking care of my concerns but maybe having easily worn items in a protective package would be ideal.

The original Blacktron Renegade was my all time favourite lego set. This remake is a fantastic homage to the original and a welcome return of the Blacktron theme.I hope we see more.

I must say, for the price this set is very good. I do feel it captures the Blacktron aesthetic well. I love how the black looks like their old versions. The set is all prints, which is always appreciated. I love the classic style of the prints too. The module design of the set is also really nice, really my only problem was that the set did get a little repetitive in its building at times, and was not as fun as the Galaxy Explorer set that came out before it, but even then, building this set was quite fun. Overall I would personally say if you liked the Galaxy Explorer set, you will likely enjoy this one.

Had lots of fun building it. When I first saw images of it online I thought the color scheme was a bit too monotonous, but It looks way better after completing it in person. I didn’t grow up with Blacktron or any classic themes as a kid, but wish I did, as this was a very sick build. I really like all the neat functions and play features. Would recommend. 👍
This set is amazing and I will happily be buying another copy or two. From its striking design, modularity, and fun build experience, the Blacktron Renegade hits all the right notes. I hope we get more sets like this in the future!
Got the Renegade yesterday! My 8-year-old son and I built it together, and he absolutely loves it. He’s already asking about the whole backstory of Blacktron, so I shared the version I came up with when I was his age.Such an awesome set—the modularity is incredible, and it reminds me of everything I love about the classic LEGO factions. No big IPs, just pure creativity, where we could build anything we wanted with the sets we had and let our imaginations run wild.
The thing that got me back into Lego after decades was the reimagined galaxy explorer, I simply love it, Lego space brings out the purest old time Lego passion. Naturally I couldn't resist the blacktron cruiser, but what I wanted to see was more blacktron and especially it's largest and most beloved cruiser, the renegade. I just finished building it and it's such a beautiful piece, it felt like an authentic Lego space building experience, it looks like blacktron, it feels like blacktron, it plays like blacktron. It is simply an amazing set. Thank you so much Lego for releasing this one, and please, please continue releasing classic space stuff, I know so many of us love it, I never owned any blacktron as a child, and I always regretted it, and now you've given me a ... This set was extremely fun to build and play with! I love how modular the set is and I think it is exceptionally designed! I also love that it can connect with the Blacktron Cruiser GWP from 2023 with a few minor modifications! I hope more Blacktron sets get released in the future!
I’ve been telling my younger children the early 1990’s were an epic time to be a kid with Lego Space sets. Blacktron I and II, Space Police, M-Tron, Exploriens… those were the days. The Renegade was an excellent build. Straightforward enough that my kids could follow the instructions with me, and a wonderful homage to the original. My kids love playing with it alongside the Galaxy Explorer. Just spitballing here, but it would be great to have, I don’t know, the M-Tron Stellar Recon Voyager revisited so as to further relive my childhood glory days and share them with my children.
Too much yellow to fit with the old blacktron scheme. Good with printed parts and not stickers. Would be nice if the docking mechanism coincided with previous remake of blacktron the GWP cruiser set for a better play experience. The box art is terrible, it does not match the other classic space sets such as the remake of galaxy explorer. Compared to the love the remake of galaxy explorer got from the design theme, this set was a bit of a let down. Otherwise a solid set with decent value for money.
