LEGO 31118 Creator Surfer Beach House

This is an excellent build but visually it appeals to a crowd that is younger than the age group that can put it together on their own.By that I mean the colors and the general layout have a somewhat infantile look. But cognitively putting this thing together is out of reach for a child under the age of 8 I would say.I can tell you my story. Our son is six.. visually the build hits the jackpot for a six year old.Why?Because the forms featured on the box are brought, colorful and round and infantile. I asked him to choose which build he wanted already getting into the overload zone. I eventually had to chunk out the project in like 5 zip lock bags.I found that if I, for example, put the pieces for pages .... 1-15 in one bag, the pieces for 16-30 in another, 30-45 on another you get the idea ... then my son can follow the instructions and build the beach house.But bottom line, excellent build, great for the brain, but it requires significant adult commitment otherwise you run the risk of having a 500 piece Lego grenade go off in your living room.

Bought it for my 7 yr old as gift from Santa. It is such a beautiful set. It’s got the details of a surfer beach house: diving gear, fridge, sink, bed, beach chair, outside shower, palm trees and beach animals. It’s pretty easy to assemble. It provided a STEM learning for my kid! Highly recommended!

I believe Home Deliveries USA has the cheapest listing for this set at 40, but correct me if there are any other retailers who have it cheaper. I like that you can open it up to take a gander at the two rooms inside. I like how believable this is as a design for a shop/house. And the selection of minifigures could be better. It comes with one adult and one child. Really, there should be three figures I think. One to live in the beach shack and work the register, and a parent and child to come into the shop as tourists. But that is nitpicking already. Very cute set. I love shack-type buildings, and this has scratched an itch. I recommend buying some outdoorsy sets to go along with this, such as an RV or perhaps a pickup truck set.

I was pretty unimpressed with the set initially. The first floor of the structure is kind of bare in my opinion. However, as I continued through the booklet, I found the overall set to be surprisingly detailed. Its an impressive set for the little amount of pieces. I used to play with legos when I was younger. As a young adult, this lego set allowed me to go back for a brief moment. My only criticism for this set is that its a bit overpriced.

This set has been so much fun for my 8-year-old granddaughter. She has been building the three different structures and enjoying the challenge for several days. She was able to build it by herself. It is a clever design, and the details are fun.

My 8.5 year old son loves working on this. He loves his Roblox but would probably rather work on a Lego set. Legos are pretty expensive imo, so I don’t buy them so often. He finished this entire set in about 5 hours.Would highly recommend for the Lego lovers or someone that just needs a good project to focus on for a bit.

Great fun

I went into one of my nearby chain stores with the intent of buying a Lego set, I wasn't sure which one but when I saw this set I was immediately sold on it. It reminded me of my favourite plane, the WW2 Corsair, it was also a 3-in-1 plane and I have the Island Adventure seaplane from a few years back which is one of my favourite sets. This was fun to build, I really enjoyed how the engine came together as well as making the wings. It has stickers, which for me is a negative due to having unsteady hands, but this set looks better with its sticks than without. I would have liked some hair for the pilot so that he could look dashing with his helmet off, but I can add that from my collection. I recommend this set.

Outstanding 3-1 Creator Set

This is one of the most impressive 3-in-1 creator house sets I’ve seen in a long time. Very detailed scenes and cool pivoting sections so you can easily access the rooms. I especially appreciate the fully finished walls of the structure instead of open walls - Lego, please keep doing this! Highly recommend this set!

Pretty nice

A cute project, maybe not the biggest I've seen, but definitely worth checking out. I love the inner details, really adorable animals surrounding the beach house and maybe the best part - the ability, to open the house/separate it on 2 sides.A big yes for me, even if targeted towards children/adolescents.

Replacing a lost set

I purchased this model in the past. Last year I moved and a big box of Legos was lost. I am replacing my favorite sets and this is one of them. Oh, I am eighty years old and have collected Legos for 35 years.
