The Grand Prix Racer set is a great set. Took a few days working at it a couple hours at a time but totally worth it. The set has some awesome features that I wouldn't have wanted to be spoiled on so you can youtube it if you are really curious how it all works. It is very big, taking up a whole shelf in my bookcase. Highly recommended if you love Lego and Technic. Have fun building.

I bought two of these kits, one for my 12 year old grandson for his Birthday and one for my 14 year old nephew for Christmas. They have been a great success with both of them. The quality of the materials is excellent as are the instruction manuals that accompany the kits. They are providing hours of quality occupation. The item is more expensive than some kits, but well worth the extra expense. If you have mechanically minded young people (12 plus) then this makes a worthwhile gift with much educational value.
In a simple words I would say, nothing special. It is a good set, but there is something missing in the design. The section between the cabin and front nose is straight like a brick. It looks like designers just gave up on that one bit. When I applied the decals it did look much better, but overall it's really not as good as it could be. Still a great addition to the collection, but older F1 sets are much, much nicer looking.
This set has long been retired, and to find one has eluded me. It was a fun, slightly challenging build. The read working suspension, rear wing, and engine compartment cover are very cool. Highly recommend this set to just about anyone.
three days to put together
my 10yr old sons respone to this ......"awesome!!!!" he is a big fan of both f1 and lego - so this was an ideal present.....the detailing is superb....it looks better than 2014 f1 cars! he is yet to build it as the truck model. combining it with the power functions set is the next step, which makes it a bit more expense - however he is using birthday money for that. no problems or issues at all....very happy son and mum
I bought the product cause I have recently started putting together the Lego Technic vehicles as an stress reliever for me and I really and truly enjoy putting them together. I really love the detail in the Technic vehicles. I dislike that this product did not come with the electric motor to open and close the parts that are suppose to open and close. With the super car it came with the electronic parts. I just ordered the extreme cruiser and plan on putting together the cargo plan in august. Hands down a addicting hobby.
My ten yr old son got this for Christmas and loves it. It is a great lego technic set and looks a lot like the real thing. It took him about 8 hours in total to build by himself so it was challenging in a good way. He is looking forward to adding to his lego technic collection. He likes the real steering and working pistons the best . The size is very impressive.
