Well. The build was nice but not overly fun. If I had a chance to buy the Raptor over this. I would probably go with the Raptor. For some reason I don’t feel like this build doesn’t do Charger any justification. The front end of this build as well as the back easily comes a part of you don’t handle it fragile. The lever that allows you to pose the car doing a wheelie is not located where it is easily accessed. The front wheels should be skinnier than the rear. There was no red bottle in the charger. There is no supercharger for the engine. It makes it looks like there is but there isn’t one.

I spent some time with my son building this, but he ended up taking over. He's pretty good at these (better than me) despite being 10!The instructions are clear and it goes together well. I took a number of hours to put together but it's was pretty straightforward. My son loved it.In terms of the finished model, it's fairly close to a Dodge Charger and it's got some cool tricks up its sleeve leading to my son playing with it with friends. The only issue I have with Lego like this is that you make it and it stays made.

I was hesitant at first to get this set because of all the complaints that it wasn't brick-built or as aesthetic as the Mustang but honestly, I'm glad I looked past it, because this turned out to be a really great set. Unlike the Mustang, which kinda just sits there looking pretty, doing nothing, this thing features a moving engine with a supercharger (my favourite) a VERY simple yet wonderfully-engineered chassis just begging you to modify it, and full working suspension to boot (we haven't seen working suspension in a Technic car for this scale and price in at least 15 years). No, it's not perfect. The body could use a bit more refinement, especially with all the gaps and holes, and not sure these wheels were the right choice, but hey, that's where one's ... MoreI was hesitant at first to get this set because of all the complaints that it wasn't brick-built or as aesthetic as the Mustang but honestly, I'm glad I looked past it, because this turned out to be a really great set. Don't leave Dom racing all on his own!!PS- I already did some minor mods of my own; swapped out the wheels for slightly bigger and more realistic ones (in my opinion) and raised the supercharger intake slightly as it is on Dom's original charger in the first FnF film.

Comparing this Charger to LEGO’s McLaren Senna GTR and James Bond Aston Martin, I can come up with some specific notes about what I like most and least on each model, and especially this charger.First, all three models excel and emphasize the fun and fascination of gears and moving parts. There are so many amazing detailed subassemblies that I have I started a collection of the best with my own spare parts.Although the Aston Martin is the perfect marriage of Technic frame and LEGO detail, providing an unrivaled finished model, the Dodge Charger places the 99% technic skin tightly together, without the gaps and missing spaces so prevalent in the Senna. The Charger is noticeably larger than the Senna and Aston Martin. For each model, I will give my rating on ... MoreComparing this Charger to LEGO’s McLaren Senna GTR and James Bond Aston Martin, I can come up with some specific notes about what I like most and least on each model, and especially this charger.First, all three models excel and emphasize the fun and fascination of gears and moving parts. For each model, I will give my rating on Excitement of build, and beauty of finished model - how well it can be displayed in the office or family room.Charger: 10, 8Senna: 8, 7Aston Martin 9, 10

Set 42111 was going to be my return to medium-sized full function Technic sets. I passed on the GT3, Chiron and Sian because apart of a challenging build, I'm not sure where I would place them or what to do with these. I bought the 42093 Corvette last year but found it underwhelming; no suspension and an engine with little moving sticks?! So I had high hopes for 42111. Didn't happen though.Yes, it offers most functionality I want, like suspension, steering and opening doors. But I was utterly disappointed with the overall build! Not only does this car lack a moving interior steering wheel or even proper dimensions - the wheel is too big, horizontal and doesn't line up correctly with the driver seat - the sturdiness of the model is far below what I am used from Lego (I started playing in the 80's). Various pieces are attached with one single stud (front grille, rear lights, rear bumper) and these fall apart fairly easily. For a model with 'play functions' this is unacceptable. At least the Mustang was designed to be pretty and it is, I own it too. Sure, this Dodge isn't pretty and doesn't look much like the real thing, but it's Technic. However, the roof of the Charger is wobbly and all the body panels can be twisted and turned. Doors don't open smoothly and can be pushed beyond 90 degrees. I could bash on for a while. Why still 3 stars? I enjoyed the overall build. The chassis is sturdy and fully functional. I will use the Charger to modify it into a Roadrunner; I'm not into F&F. Lego will remain my favourite pass time. But I'd like to ask current Lego designers to spend some time with sets from the 80's and be amazed by the bomb-proofness of those builds.

42111 is really an amazing set. It is my first big Technic vehicle set and I think its a great start to a big Technic vehicle collection. It looks just like the car in the movie despite the holes and pegs. The steering works well (although it under steers a bit) and the suspension, I thought was pretty cool. I like how the hood opens so u can see the working V8 engine a little more. The moving pistons and air blower I didn't think was possible without a motor. Although the doors do not open on the car in the movie, I actually like how the doors on the Lego Charger open. The little fire extinguisher that was in the place of the passenger seat I thought was a nice touch. I thought is was cool enough that the shift lever moved, and then I noticed that when the shift lever is pulled back it does a wheelie which blew my mind. Then the trunk; it opens as I expected and the nitro bottles are pretty cool. I put some flames and an extra peg in the exhaust pipes to make it look like the nitro is being used. With the flames it looks a lot better in my opinion. There is a lot of details and I think the car when it is all built together it looks great. There are only 2 flaws in the car that I see; 1. The steering wheel is a little too big. 2. The car feels rickety and when you hold it it feels like it is gonna fall apart any second but it doesn't somehow. In conclusion, this is an amazing set and well worth the money. Now I really hope that Lego will also come out with Brian's Toyota Supra as a Technic set for $100 also!

The way it is built causes some bending near the connection points on the frame when pushed on. not a deal breaker though.- Interior feels very lacking. For this price point I get it, but at least connect the steering wheel to the actual front axle, not just attached by a connector pin for looks.- the 2 light grey small angle pieces on each end of the back bumper tend to fall off if bumped the wrong way while moving. Almost lost them in the carpet a few times already.- Front grille outline is a little weak and could be easily made better with less pieces, which would make it stronger and have less cracks reducing the look of many separate pieces. All in all a great set with some functionality to make it fun to look at and interact with. If you have some parts in your spare parts bin to tweak a few things, it definitely can be a display piece in your collection, and something fun for everyone.SIDE NOTE: If LEGO ever decides to create this iconic car in the same manner and level of detail as the Ford Mustang from the Creator Expert line, I think it would do quite well.

My second build with Technic and really enjoying the difference between it and traditional. My only critique would be that it’s very hard at times to see exactly where a piece goes the way the instructions are laid out which can lead to corrections being needed further along. Would love to see 3D instructions like the Mario sets to make it easier.Overall great functionality, cool design and lots of details that are so much fun to put together and bring back memories of the movie. Would recommend.

The last set I bought did not resonate with me and was on the verge of ruining building Lego for me. I bought this as I always enjoy the technic elements in sets and I wanted to dip my toes into the technic cars. My hobby is saved! It’s a simple build, it’s a basic build, but it’s fun build. Playability is limited to steering and wheelie bar but it looks cool. Definitely look up how to lower the car as it makes it look so much better. There are some fragile parts if you’re going to push it around but nothing that’s hard to put back on. If you’re a fan of muscle cars, or Fast & Furious, it’s not terrible at all. More sets from the movie to compliment this would be appreciated. Biggest con is it could have been a creator set and looked just a bit better, but like I ... MoreThe last set I bought did not resonate with me and was on the verge of ruining building Lego for me. After hours and hours, it looks complete. But you can’t play with it - and the “wheelie stand” - terrible. The wheels don’t turn and the stand doesn’t support the weight. If there was ever the need for a set of 3D instructions, this was it. I spent literally hours just staring at various parts of the instructions trying to figure out where to put the modules just built - and obviously I must have done at least a few wrong since the stand doesn’t stay up and the wheels don’t turn when the car is on a surface (they turn fine when I lift the car off a surface). And the idea of having to pull the thing apart to fix it - frightening. This was not an easy build in so many places. And then, in others, it was so over simplified I thought I must have done something wrong. On the positive side - it’s a big car when done. And despite some of the criticism about the way it looks, it looks enough like the car to be something my son thinks looks cool. I would have given it a better “value for the $” rating if (1) the instructions were better and (2) if he could play with it.Any suggestions on how to get the wheels to turn - I’m all ears!
