This is probably the best set I've ever gotten. Overall, it's very pleasing to the eye, as LEGO has achieved the look of a Chinese temple. The doors are amazing. One thing with the doors is that it is only easy to open them from the front of the building, and only easy to close from the side. But this is a small matter. This set has all the ninja with their hair and it also has Garmadon! It's a great selection of minifigures! The set itself is amazing! The exterior is very nicely made with the old and ancient vibe to it. The inside is even better! The amount of play features is awesome! I love the boulder dropping feature the most due to it being so easy to reset! One complaint I would make is the lack of room in the temple. I wish it was a bit more wider so you can pose the minifigures in more ways. Lastly, the stone guardian dogs are made in such a great way and I love the amount of ways you can pose them! Overall, this is a great set that you should definitely pick up if you have a hundred dollars on hand!

The interior is very detailed with lots of play functions like trapdoors, hidden shooters and falling dynamite. The mechanism for the boulder dropping function is very stable and works well with the locking feature. The two guard dog statues are bigger than I expected and have a lot of articulation. They have a menacing feeling to then and give the entire build a darker, scarier tone. The cage on the side of the temple is also a nice addition with the ability to hold a minifigure. Overall this is a great price for the amount of pieces and the great minifigure selection. Definitely one to get in this line.

This has nowhere near the level of detail as the Airjitzu Temple, and had I known, I would have gotten other Ninjago Movie sets first.I love the Shi guardian "dogs." I enjoyed their build, and the eyebrows are articulated in a manner that allows them a great deal of expression.I like the prints and graphics on the minifigures. I am disappointed that the hair pieces don't work well with the lower portion of the masks, which seems to defeat the purpose of having a two part mask.I'm disappointed with the structure itself. The frieze detail above the door is well done, but most everything else is constructed of big chunky panels. Bought this for my wife. It was on sale for about $79.99+tax and normally retails for around $100+ She had fun building it. She put it together in about 2.5 to 3 hours. When she was done she gave us a tour and it's a pretty cool set that offers a many compartments, fun items and traps plus 7 figures. Pros: looks cool, Lots of detail: Many little compartments offer fun role playing opportunities. Lots of figures: set includes 7 (most of the characters from the movie/show). There are 1,403 pieces but they are well organized and the instructions are easy to follow a (patient) 9 year old should be able to put it together by themself. Cons: none really
I got this set at the $80 Walmart price and I was shocked at the number of large meaty bricks that came with this set!! They didn't manipulate part count to jack the prices up on this set in fact I'd say they are selling this set at below what it's worth. The figures are amazing especially the villain. I was not impressed with this set in the pictures but a quick video search of this set online changed my mind. The two stone dogs were not very interesting to me but after building them I've found a new level of appreciation for what incredible builds they really are and the possibilities they provide for play and display. I am sure the LEGO set is perfect, however this review is on Target and how they sent me this item. I ordered this for Christmas, a present under the tree Christmas morning. The packaging box was intact, but when I opened it, the Lego set box was ripped apart. There was also a printed out sticker right on the picture of the box reminding the packager to also send the minifigure promo with it. What the heck! The packager clearly saw this was damaged and sent it anyway? And on top of that the picture of what Lego set it is, is covered up with a label? I tried called Target and couldn't get through because its the busy season, also checked all the local stores and they are all out of this set. On the roof there are corner slopes that are attached to the main roof plates and often when trying to pick up the set or move it they fall off. Minor detail but rather annoying. I have also had the land leading to the door fall off during transportation which is a lot less frequent than the roof pieces falling off but harder to put back on. With all of the traps and the awesome interior it provides lots of fun for hours. The traps include a moving sword trap on the third floor, a trap that drops TNT on said minifig, a boulder that falls via lever (or pressure plate but that's only when i"m playing), pegs that can extend from the main part and cause the treasure chest to move farther away, and a blade launcher in the scroll room. My favorite is the boulder because you can pretend your minifig steps on the pressure plate and it just falls with one fluid motion and it knocks the minifig down which is so amusing to me. One of the coolest features however, is the iron bars you can make your minifig grab and they can remove them. For some reason that is the coolest thing ever. There is also the swinging bone cage which is my other favorite. You can stick your minifig in it (or when i'm displaying it I put one of my skeleton guys in there) and it makes for some good stories. I'm going to say 5/5 on play.Now let's talk the good stuff; minifigs. I must say I am very pleased with the minifigs. It comes with all of the ninja in their ninja force gi's but instead of having the masks they have their hair pieces, and It also has jungle Garmadon. One thing I have noticed is that the more expensive the set the better quality the printing is on the heads, torsos, etc. So naturally the printing was high quality on these minifigs. I love how it comes with all of the ninja and I now have all of the ninja in their ninja force gi's with hair pieces. The Garmadon minifig is really cool too ,I love the attention to detail on him. A solid 5/5 on the minifigs.After having this set for a little while now, I'd definitely say that if you are wanting to be bold and buy a more expensive set, and if you are really looking forward to the Ninjago Movie then you should get this set! It's fun to play with, has good minifigs, and has a beautiful build. The best part is that it is not something that if you are like me and have a low income source is not remotely affordable such as the Death Star. The set gets a 7.arm-ripped-off from me.
