The pack art really does not do this helmet justice at all. To be fair, neither do my photos but I suck at lighting etc.. This looks really incredible built and I was pleasantly surprised at the overall size of it, approximately 1/3 of life size. The build itself reminded me quite a bit of the techniques used in the Brick Headz kits, which is not a bad thing. I was dreading adding the raised sections to form the outer layer to the base but it all went smoothly with no pop offs when pressing down to connect and no need to glue to hold things in place.I really liked that the instructions use strange coloured bricks to help you figure out the spatials - particularly for slotting the external "plates" in to place. Makes it really simple to figure out where everything ... MoreThe pack art really does not do this helmet justice at all. To be fair, neither do my photos but I suck at lighting etc.. If you are a fan of Star Wars and Lego you are probably tired of the "play" features in most recent Lego sets. If that`s so, you will like this. It is a very well done sculpture of Boba`s iconic helmet. The building isn`t very challenging but present well done elements that provide an astonishing looking when finished. Since it is the first lego sculpture I own, I showcase it together with an old Slave I model and Boba`s minifigure. However, I would like to have a Boba`s minifigure coming in this set, as I think it would be a very nice addition. The only downside in my opinion in this set is that the moving part for the antenna feels not so sturdy, but I haven`t hade much problem with it so far. Looking forward to other +18 Lego Star Wars sets in the future. If you are looking for matching sets, the new Slave I (40th year anniversary) matches bobas colors very well. Also, the other 2 helmets would probably make a very cool way to showcase it.

I was really excited when I saw this product was forthcoming and thoroughly enjoyed building the model. It was interesting to see the internal structure and how all the pieces and sides fit together. I really like that the stand is has an internal structure that keeps it together. Because of this, it is easy to take the helmet off the stand and it displays great on or off the stand. The only drawback for me was the range finder antenna only has a simple hinge to flip it down and up and has very little resistance so the range finder is prone to just tipping down. Also it is secured by only 2 studs so comes off easily with the weight at the top. I would have like to see a technic attachment at the base into the side of the helmet that rotate at the bottom center ... This was one of the more challenging pieces. Overall the finished product was good. Some of the directions were a little hard to read, due to the angle of where the piece(s) goes. Took three days to build only becasue I was working on this at night, a bag at a time.If I were to make a suggestion to Lego and their instruction manuals, make an app to where there is an animated gif to each part of building (e.g. Download the app, put the model number of the lego in the search feature (number on the front of the box), brings up the model, click on it, there's your manual, hit start, it will go to step one, hit next page, as the pages go, the more parts you see that are an animated representation of the pieces that the builder is attaching...e.g.: Step 5 put two 6 ... I think that would put back some of the confusion of where some of the pieces that are together, go. I was having a hard time putting the side panels of the helmet on. The piece weren't lining up. I had to unbuild it maybe three times till I saw the problem.Again I think the animated manual app for lego would work, for new builders getting into it and veteran builders as well. Especially on the bigger sets (It doesn't have to just be Star Wars, other sets can be added to this as well. Technic, would be a great platform for this app.) All and all it was a good Lego for my collection.
For context, Boba Fett is not a character favourite of mine, and the last helmet I purchased and built in the series. That said, it was arguably the most enjoyable to build and probably the most unique as it breaks the standard monochrome pattern of the others.BUILD: This is the only set that is asymmetrical so its the only set that does not have any overly repetitive elements. Additionally, it is the only set that doesn't start the build with the stand as you immediate start with the core of the helmet which is a great change of pace if you build any of these back to back. Its not an overly complicated build, instructions are fair and easy to follow. Build time was just over 1.5 hours at a very leisure pace while my 6 year-old touched and played with every brick ... Build time was just over 1.5 hours at a very leisure pace while my 6 year-old touched and played with every brick while 'helping'.FEATURES: Boba's range finder can be lifted and lowered which makes this the only helmet to have an adjustable feature.FUN: I found this set to be the most enjoyable to build out of the five helmets. Repetition was minimal, order of building was mixed from previous sets, and the colour just made it more exciting.VALUE: As the only set to have actual colour and a moving part (range finder), this set is unique enough to stand out from the others and offer unique value to any collection. I was originally hesitant to purchase this set as I don't care for the character, but was fortunate to find it on sale and I'm so happy I did purchase it.
The sets did have a few pieces missing as in the description. I did manage to find work arounds. I don't think this would be the case for everyone (Some sections had to be reworked to free up parts and I stole parts form my kid's collection) While the this worked out for me, I am unlikely to purchase secondhand Lego again from anyone. I was very lucky with two of the missing pieces and it is adds a layer of stress building something and not know if it is all there and what it could like when complete.
Another great additional or first in your collection of the Lego Star Wars helmet series. Displays wonderfully and the name plate is a nice touch. Could be fun to build while watching the upcoming Boba Fett show.Play Features: the helmet series is really designed around collecting and displaying. However, the Boba Fett helmet does have a movable view finder.Retiring date: At this time, there is no official retire date for the set but it most likely will be the end 2022.Price: The price to piece count is typical on this set. Fine if you pay full price and awesome if you get it on sale.Note: when on sale in the 10-20% range, this is a steal! Well worth picking it up at that price point even if you do not plan to build it.
The box is just awesome, it looks so cool and really encapsulates how great both the set and the character of Boba Fett is. The build took a pretty good amount of time, not too long but not too short. In terms of difficulty; I was going through it with no issue but struggled during the middle of the build as the difficulty did increase by quite a bit. I did get the hang of it though and was back to no issues during the end. The build was very fun, I found it very entertaining to watch how the build evolved into looking like Boba Fett’s helmet with the completion of each side making me feel very achieved and proud. There is an alright amount of playability but nothing too special, this is more of a display piece then a play set however. Once the set was completed, it ... Once the set was completed, it just looked so beautiful, I keep getting distracted by it while I’m working, the colours and the uncanny resemblance are just mesmerising. It’s definitely the most visually stunning Lego set I’ve seen. It’s absolutely perfect for display purposes with it not being too big or too wide whilst still being good value for money due to the building experience, detail and the beauty of it on display. It’s a must-have for any Star Wars and Lego fan looking to have a good time and a work of art to have on show!
This is the first LEGO set I've *ever* built from start to finish. I've played with LEGO as a kid but never built a set. It was fun to build although some parts were slightly repetitive and the front of the helmet is pretty weak. Some parts can easily come loose if you touch them too much. Definitely a display piece, not for (most/young) kids and not for play time. I put it on a shelf. It feels good to display something that I built myself. It's not like I built an actual house or something but it's quite satisfying when you put that final part on (the name tag) and put it on display. The helmet is very detailed and just about the right size. Not too big but also not tiny. Boba Fett is my favourite Star Wars character. So iconic. I think there may have been one small mistake in the building instructions booklet but it was spot on for the most part. Could've also been my own fault. It wasn't very hard to build, fairly simple for the most part. The only confusion was the different coloured bricks. So my pro tip is to be careful with the colours. Use the correct colour bricks/parts, otherwise you might screw it up. But it's all good.I think 74,95€ is a bit too much for this LEGO set. Something like 45-65€ would be more reasonable. But I don't regret buying it. I'm proud to display it.
I could not have been more happy with this purchase. The build was challenging and fun but not hard enough to confuse me. The overall display of this set delights me and it is not dwarfed by many other sets even tough it is not quite as big as I expected. The size is okay and I understand why it is not bigger. This set IS universe accurate no matter what other reviews might say and i love the technique used for the yellow stripes and they give the. look of this product a slight pop, which is good because of the mostly base colour palette used.Pros : Great display piece and eye catching for any lego fans room. it has a very dignified look and the stand is sturdy and well made. the attention to detail is great with texture and thought all round the model even the ... The range finder is prone to falling down if knocked slightly.
