LEGO 75308 - Star Wars R2-D2

Amazing build. Very technical and fun to build but set some time aside, 14 hours at least. Have a very good light as the instruction book has very dark blue bricks against. Very dark blue brick. Hard to see

Box was damaged by multiple stockx stickers placed on it. They were very hard to remove and ripped parts of the box upon removal. I wish the stickers weren’t placed on items that are for display purposes for collectors.

75308 Lego R2-D2

This is an outstanding version of the various Lego Star Wars "Droids" kit there have been so far, if you have the BB-8, DO, or BD buildable droids the iconic R2-D2 goes really well with them all, I really enjoyed the various building methods for this and it has some excellent features, the middle leg that appears as if from nowhere, and R2's various other tools and compartments, also the overall look of the model is excellent. If you are purchasing this for younger fans, be mindful of the 18+ there are some aspects of the build that might be challenging for younger builders but it's also a fun way of building a project together. Bought as a birthday present and the recipient is really pleased with it!!

I wanted to buy this for some time but I actually wanted it for a birthday present!! It has not actually been built yet but the recipient was 'over the moon' to receive it and is very much looking forward to building it!!

Great fun

Now this was by far the biggest Lego build I had done and what an awesome challenge it was. Easy to build and just fits perfectly together, it is as if you are looking at the real deal instead of it being made out of Lego. Would definitely recommend as a great, fun build.

Great set, not too difficult to build either.

I bought this as something a bit different to the usual sets I purchase, which are predominately from the vehicle ranges; however, I was not left disappointed with this set as I am also a fan of the star wars range, and this is a great set to add to the collection. My 8-year-old son built 95% of this set with no problems; I was more of a 'quality controller' to provide build checks after each page was complete. I like the smaller numbered bags built sequentially; each bag took only around 15-30 mins to make by my son, making it a good build experience if you are short on time but want to get it done. The only negatives are that it feels pretty loose and shaky once fully built, not that it feels like it will fall apart, don't expect it to feel rigid or have any resistance to moving parts, and the top antenna/camera thing that pops up could maybe be improved by having it on a retractable mechanism of some kind as it has to be lifted manually and doesn't stay in the raised position if you let go. Once built, it looks excellent on the lego shelf we have and I would recommend the build for any young aspiring builder looking to take the next step up the build difficulty ladder from basic builds and to star wars fans alike. Zavvi was brilliant once again, with an easy transaction and quick delivery.

Lego R2D2

Never used Zavvi before, but we’re offering an excellent price on the Lego R2D2. Always a bit unsure when using a new supplier, as to what service you will get. The item was swiftly sent from Zavvi and quickly received and extremely well packed. As a Star Wars fan, the model itself is excellent and was a pleasure to build. Yes, a massive Star Wars Fanatic!! All I can say is WOW!! This is an amazing collectors item. It looks absolutely AMAZING… it looks so like the real R2 with its amazing features, having Luke’s lightsaber completes the finesse. Definitely for adult building, although my daughter watches the build with 100% interest. O OH what have I done? Guess what she is asking for Christmas? Comes complete with the 50th anniversary Lego brick and miniature R2. EVERYONE’S FAVOURITE DROID IS DEFINITELY BACK…….FOR GOOD…

R2D2 and Zavvi

Always a good choice to buy Lego and this is no exception. Fantastic subject at an excellent price. Buying through Zavvi made the decision even easier. Always well priced, often the cheapest. Exceptional service every time. Have recommended them to almost everyone I know.

Terrific Build

Amazing Lego build. This was my first foray into Lego since I was a kid and despite a few errors which I later corrected the build was very satisfying. Be careful of the middle leg construction as this is where I went wrong and which almost required a complete rebuild as it’s one of the early stages and took me three hours to work out where I went wrong. Annoyingly there was also a piece missing however Lego are very good and have sent me the piece. That being said it was an internal piece and not terribly important so rather than take the whole model apart I’m leaving it out. Given the amount of pieces in this model I consider that to be a lucky escape although I have since purchased the Ghostbusters Ecto 1 which had two integral pieces missing which has been very ... MoreAmazing Lego build. It seems poor for a company that essentially makes 3D jigsaw puzzles to miss out components on the two models that I’ve bought. Does this happen regularly with Lego? It is also strange considering how many excess pieces I’m left with which I would happily trade for having the right pieces in the first place. All in all though very happy as it’s a nice ornament and I now have the Light My Bricks light and sound package to add to it. Just readying myself for that next project.
