This set is a must buy for any Lego fan, Child or Adult. The play features are great, the dinosaurs are awesome, and you can get most of the main characters in this set, as well as An incredible Mansion. The design is simple and easy, and most side builds of the set are the same, so it will be easy building the other side. Great for display and play. And definitely worth your money.

This is every little Jurassic World fans dream. It looks great once built. It did take me a few hours to build it for my 7year old but was enjoyable and worth the time spent to see the end result and his happy face. The only reason I dropped a star on this rating is because it is a little unstable once built and came apart a few times when adding the final attachments or being moved about by son. I would definitely recommend purchasing a baseplate to secure it to.

My friend mason really wants to tear it down, he likes to look at the stuff like the motorcycle. He doesn't really like dinosaurs. There's a hiding under the bed feature and that's everything! So I actually managed to get this set before it was meant to be officially released. My local Kmart employees stuffed up and put this Lego series on the shelf early. Lucky me!So this is one of the bigger Lego sets I've built and it is one of the most impressive. Just looking at the set, it looks like there might be a lot of repetitive, boring building. But I had a lot of fun building this set and watching it materialise, brick by brick. The building is rather slim but I won't complain there because it works better as a show piece which is why I build the Lego. The exterior building side is extremely nice looking. Was very impressed with the architecture. And the new Lego dinosaurs are freaking awesome, enough said. And I guess with the new dinosaur figures they have to make up for the extra manufacturing costs.

Lockwood Estate Set

Here's my review on the Indoraptor Lockwood Estate Set. It's the pricier set within the new Lego Jurassic World sets. I got this as a gift from my girlfriend which i'm thanking her here for sure. The set itself took me really a day in a half. I've been busy with things so I had to pause and take breaks often but if I count up the hours total it's really 5 hours. The build itself can get tricky but isn't bad. It can be tedious with a lot of the set using the same bricks and being exactly the same. But I found it to be enjoyable because in pictures it really doesn't do justice it's a pretty big set. The details within the inside and even outside are fantastic my only complaint is the inner areas do not have enough leg room to really put minifigures and I wish that ... MoreHere's my review on the Indoraptor Lockwood Estate Set. The details within the inside and even outside are fantastic my only complaint is the inner areas do not have enough leg room to really put minifigures and I wish that would have been extended but other then that the areas within the inside of the Estate are really well done. Minifigs are great and love the new designed Owen and Claire. Indortaptor is the highlight of the set since it's the only set you can get the creature in. Blue is the biggest disappointment. The mold itself is the same as previous Raptor molds but the coloring is super inaccurate. The first release Blue is way better in terms of coloring to the film. That's my biggest complaint besides the inner areas needing to be extended. Price isn't terrible for piece count. I do recommend it for you Lego fans and Jurassic World fans. The set isn't cheap at $129 so this may not be for the average kid unless a super fan of Legos and want a little bit of a challenge. Too me it wasn't hard but it does have it's parts where if you mess up it will set you back. I love it and is actually my favorite set within the new released Jurassic World sets for sure.

Bought on behalf of my son who had been to work with his dad over the holidays. He asked that he be paid in 'Lego'! He was beyond thrilled! And hasn't stopped playing and building with it since. Reawakening his love for dinosaurs, even his younger brothers and sister played too! Pricey, but there's so much to this set, so for the hrs of entertainment it has already given to my children, I consider it good value!!

My 10 year old was at first disappointed that it wasnt branded as Lego- but as he put it together, he found it to be practically the same. He loves playing with it, along with his Lego dinosaurs. Just be prepared that the pieces do not come in separated numbered bags (like Lego do), but all jumbled together in a few bags. Not a big deal- just makes it a little harder to find the needed pieces. Other than that, no problems at all.

Price VS Complexity VS Actual Value
13 May 2018

What should have been a large, interactive, and complex set was ultimately bogged down to a disappointing build.I should start by saying that while I am a fan of LEGO, I am an even bigger fan of the Jurassic Park franchise. LEGO did a fantastic job in 2015 with their sets. Each set spoke volumes and had just the right level of complexity. As of writing this review, I’d have only assembled the Indoraptor set, and boy was it a frustrating set. My problems can be condensed into one simple issue, and that is the relationship between the price, complexity, and the value.Whenever LEGO creates builds based on a property, they usually have tiered sets. The main big set, usually over 1,000 pieces, is the biggest and the most prestige of the sets. While that can be said for the ‘Indominus Rex Escape’ from the 2015 sets…. The king of the new Jurassic World sets disappoints big time.Let’s get the dinos out of the discussion first. This set features two dinosaurs: The Indoraptor and Blue. All I’m going to say about Blue is that we already have a Blue from the 2015 sets, and there’s another set in this series with the same exact Blue.. So having her doesn’t add much value in this set. The Indoraptor on the other hand… It’s just not that impressive. The paint job is flat. There’s no metallic paint on it whatsoever, not even the decals on the sides, which would have helped. A lot of the detail on the indoraptor is non-existent because it blends too well with the base paint. The sculpt in of itself is also disappointing. It’s hands are too small, the frills are barely there, and the head detailing is minimalistic… This is disappointing especially considering the amount of detail the Indominus Rex had in 2015.. including metallic decals! There are a lot of minifigs in this set, however, most of them are either available in other sets or are not detail heavy… Their hair pieces are impressive though! The actual set though… was very frustrating for me. First things first, it’s way too small for $130. There is an iconic scene, as seen in the trailers, involving the Indoraptor and a balcony/window… There is no way this indorator can do that. The windows and balcony are too small, even for the minifigs! The glass rooftop is so small, and the flimsy action of it falling isn’t as effective as you think it would be. Infact, the whole manor was small for a set that costs this much. Second, the actual mansion is frustratingly repetitious. Building this set kept getting increasingly mundane. It’s the same thing: floor plate, two pillars, windows, another floor plate, two pillars… Over and over again. A large part of this problem boils down to lack of creativity. LEGO could have added a staircase, or more dinosaur displays… even a room with paintings.. But no, it was just the same thing over and over again. For crying out loud, we had two identical rooms that only had a vase in them… WHY? Let’s not even talk about how plain the façade of the manor looks…. It’s just plain beige bricks!Another problem is the justification of the price. As I was building this set, I started to understand what LEGO was doing to amp up this mediocre set.. They just made it needlessly complicated. There are many shortcuts that LEGO could have gone with instead of the overly complicated build. Every 5 steps could have been reduced to 1 or 2. And when you’re building the same room over and over again, you’d want a more simplified build… Ideally, this mansion should have two sides with hinges where you can close them up so that it seems like full house. Further proof of LEGO struggling to justify the price is adding Blue to this set, along with a motorcycle… The same one from multiple other sets, including the ones from the 2015 sets. I mean honestly, it doesn’t get more lazy than that. When you compare this to the big 2015 set, you start to see why I’m frustrated. The Indominus Rex Escape was a whole paddock, that had a crane operated by a minifig, a backside that had a science lab, a helipad with an actual helicopter, and a gyrosphere that had its own dedicated launch area… AND it was big! Now THAT is a set worth $130!So, would I recommend this? Only if you are a diehard Jurassic Park fan. If I weren’t one, I’d invest heavily on the other sets that seem to be more worthwhile.

So ya this set is pretty good, the figs, the interior plus I love how they put the triceratops skull in. But I have one HUGE problem with it and many other Jurassic world sets, THE SCALE! PS. This might ruin some of the Jurassic world sets for you . The scale for this set is ridiculous, as you see in the films, velociraptors are usually shorter than people! Let alone %50 bigger! This wouldn’t be such a concern from me if they could fit easily through the doorway but ya that didn’t happen. This had bugged me for a while but I tried not to let this bother me. But then the indoraptor happened and I ya. I mean, I know it’s a bit bigger than a velociraptor, BUT THIS IS RIDICULOUS! It is almost the size of a LEGO T. rex for crying out loud! Anyway besides that I would give this a 7/10 just cause I think they could have added more and cause of the scale issue.
