If you've played the Lego Batman 2 then you know Batman and Robin (and other characters) have multiple abilities that need to be swapped through and they can quickly be equipped and unequipped without changing the character itself. So for example, Robin's hazard suit can be taken on and off instead of having two separate Robin characters. The game at times does make use of the stylus/touchscreen as well for puzzles.Long story short if you (or your kid) loved Lego Batman 1 and 2 on the handheld then this one is an instant buy.EDIT: One more thing to point out. If you lose all of your hearts you DO NOT have to start the l.

Been playing with my 5-year old and it's a pretty fun game. Story is decent with light humor. As it progresses, you can play several super heroes or villains (that end up working together), each with an assortment of powers and abilities. For example: The Martian can fly around, shoot lasers from his eyes, or turn into a giant and smash things pretty quickly; The Flash is super fast and can do a spin or lightning attack; Batman and Robin each have different suits required to get past certain parts. The story is linear and not that hard, though some parts took us a few minutes of going back and forth to figure out the next step. (My 5-year old figured out some things before I could--how did he know Killer Croc could swim underwater?) There's variety like flying a space rocket or solving several mini puzzles (most of which are WAY easy). The enemies are a little too good where if they shoot at you, they never miss, so the best strategy (unfortunately) is just to fight them as fast as you can.The sceneries look great! The Bat Cave, the Hall of Justice, the Legion of Doom, etc were all drawn very well. One of the worst features is falling off the edge of something. As you're exploring, looking for secrets, off the edge you go! Over and over, and each time you lose money. It's far deadlier than any enemy. If you explore with a flying hero like Martian, Wonder Woman, or Super Man, usually they.

This game is much better than the 1st, however about the same as the 2nd version. It's got an okay plot, but a bit more convoluted than the 2nd plot, which was very straight forward. This is better for my kids who play the game. The only issue we've had is the game is a little glitchy. There have been times in free play that a character would get stuck and you couldn't get them out. If you didn't have a save point before the point of the glitch, you'd have to start all over with any progress you've made. I'm sure they're already working on addressing these issues though, as Lego usually does. It is still a fun game though and I like the Batman series better than some of the other Lego games available. This was a breath of fresh air as the game did go back to the original format of the game! I really enjoyed exploring the game and see how each level worked. I have been spending some quality time on the levels and found that in doing this, you really can draw the game out and not just rush through and finish the game in the end. I loved that you had the ability to play different characters as you have in the past, trying out their different abilities and see what they were capable of. I will be honest and say that even though I took my time, there were a few hidden objects that still remain elusive, but that is one of the things that I like about the game.Beyond this though the graphics were strong and with voice actors and scenes that are tied into each level, you ... MoreThis was a breath of fresh air as the game did go back to the original format of the game! I also enjoyed the fact that you did get to use different things with the 3DS depending on where you were in the game - variety is the spice of life, right? This is a great game that I would highly recommend, not only to the Batman / Super hero fan, but really any gamer that enjoys a multi-level / multi-character game with great graphics, storyline and more!*I received this for review - all opinions are my own*
This was the best batman game I have played so far. I recommend this to all Lego fans! It was such a fun story mode and I loved how you could transform into various types of characters at a touch of a button. The puzzles were original and really got me trumped and challenged at certain sections of the game. The map is gigantic — I felt like there were games within the game. Graphics and colors are more rich and vibrant, and it feels like there's a lot more layers of scenery than previous Lego games. With this one going into space the possibilities were endless. Lego games rarely let me down and this one is quite fantastic. I can't wait for another Hobbit or Star Wars, or hopefully Ghostbusters!
I've seen my brother play this as a demo before. I ordered it and the delivery day said it will arrived on his birthday. But after 2 days of just ordering it. I arrived early which was great. All wrap and ready for him. Now I wanted to write this after a month of him, and couple of other siblings including myself playing it. This game it hands down the best Lego Batman Tt has ever made. My brother gets to know better all the justice league members, use them all throughout free play. And most importantly have fun. If your thinking of buying this for your kids or siblings; this game is definitely a child's play.
I play this game with my 3-year-old. He LOVES playing it. The parts where you have to jump from place to place or do things with a bit more dexterity are too tricky for him. He can solve the riddles and figure out most of the puzzles by himself. Obviously video games are a fine line but I think this game helps him problem solve in a way no other children's games typically can.Personally, this game is not nearly as fun as Lego Batman 2. I LOVED the open world play in Gotham city and all the different missions and finding the bad guys and good guys. LB3 seems to try too hard. Getting from place to place in the open world is a bit cumbersome. The portal thing is unnecessarily long to go from one world to the other. This game is amazing. I was so excited to see there was another Lego video game and this one did not disappoint!Veteran Lego gamers will be happy to note at least two improvements in the game, which is in the usual Lego video game structure. Not only when making custom characters are you able to click on a feature icon and browse a labeled display of those pieces laid out in the style of the character selection (which is EXTREMELY helpful as the lighting and other issues often make it difficult to distinguish features), but the red brick extras stay on permanently! X)There are also many other new features to the game, as it is a new game, including remakes of the previous Batman game characters. I have not even gotten close to figuring out everything in this game! :)There are a few drawbacks to this game though. For one thing, whenever a character with a theme song (Superman etc.) starts flying, their theme song plays. This is common to the Lego games, and personally I enjoy it. Wonder Woman never had a theme in previous games, but now they have given her a quite "oldies" theme which is not too bad altogether; however, it gets "stuck" if you will, and continues playing for a long time, overriding other characters' themes, and just pretty much getting annoying. It is not hard to get rid of, either don't be Wonder Woman, or turn off music in settings. I had this pro.
