I’ve been a Batman fan since I was little, and the 1989 Batmobile has always been my favorite. So when I found this set, I couldn’t resist buying it! I wasn’t disappointed, either. This is a really awesome set! :) At first glance, the price may seem high, but once you have the set assembled, it’s a lot bigger than you’d guess by looking on the box. Also, the build is really fun, too!I really like the gimmicks on this set. The flame on the back actually spins when the back tires move, and it even has the hidden blaster feature from the movie! :) While I think it would have looked cooler if they had included a sticker to split the windshield, I still love this set! It’s sure to be fun for fans of all ages! :)

The Batmobile Batman vs. The Joke Chase is a 438 piece set of Lego's that you build into the Batman car. It's a bit labor intensive but worth doing. My soon to be 8 yr. old son needed some help with the assembly which actually turned out to be a pretty large car. There are artificial flames that come out the back and they actually spin around when the car is rolled. The blasters are hidden on the car and pop out for play but a great addition to the experience. It includes the joker and batman, the top lifts off so you can put them in the seat of the car. Altogether, it's quite the toy and adventure for your batman fanatic like my son. Great learning toy, great features and really increased his attention span during the "put it together" stage. I think this is a great 1989 Batmobile build even slightly better than the one included in the Batman Returns Batcave which I also purchased. The engine intakes on the side are more accurate than the ones in the previous 1989 batmobiles this size. I think this is as good as it gets when it comes to a 1989 batmobile of this size. As for the minifigures, the Joker is slightly different and more cartoony when compared with the Jack Nicholson Joker minifigure in the large adult size 1989 batmobile. It would of been nice to have another minifigure from the Batman Burton movies instead of this Joker but overall it's a solid set. The price is okay for a set this size with a license tied to it.

First I want to say this is my favorite looking Batmobile for Batman so far. Lots of interesting building techniques, especially in the middle of the set. This set also has a back hatch to store Batman’s gadgets which the Bat-cave one does not. I do think it’s not the best value for $48, with repeat figures from the batwing basically. The batwing is a little better value in my opinion. This is still a great way to get this Batmobile without paying a lot more for the Batcave!
I received this wonderful LEGO Batmobile Batman vs the Joker chase set a few weeks ago. My son and I build it together. It was so much fun. I love how detailed and easy the directions are. All the pieces were so unique and fun to build. It was such a fun weekend just playing Legos together. This is a really fun cool build. I can’t wait to buy another Lego set to build with my kids.
This is a great interactive toy for my son, who just loes anything Batman themed! This really immerses my son to his favorite characters and storyline. My son loves how he can easily control the car and the blaster features. The character action figures are almost real life and my child loves all the entertainment that this provides him. I love how well designed this car mobile is and it's just great overall. I recommend this product to others!
And it has a really strong competition since Batmobiles are inherently cool, so are their LEGO renditions. The coolest of them all may very well be the one from Tim Burton's seminal 1989 Batman movie, on which this model is clearly based. They've captured its shape and functions remarkably well, down to the twirling flame and pop-up cannons. At first glance it seems almost identical to the one in 76252 Batcave - Shadow Box but inspecting them further reveals they are indeed completely different builds, each satisfying in their own right. For this reason it's both a great substitute if you can't afford / don't find it reasonable to purchase the former and also complements it by providing a less pricey alternative. For this reason it's both a great substitute if you can't afford / don't find it reasonable to purchase the former and also complements it by providing a less pricey alternative. It comes equipped with 2 minifigures: Jack Nicholson's version of the Joker (with characteristic green hair instead of his trademark purple hat) and Michael Keaton's Batman. Unfortunately, it doesn't contain the rigid cape (would've been nice to have as an extra, because otherwise our favorite detective / vigilante couldn't fit into the cockpit) but it does feature a new, double-molded cowl design in which the white eyes are part of the headpiece so it can be used with any normal LEGO heads. In my opinion, this is a much better solution - albeit more complicated manufacture-wise - than the previous white headband with offset eyes. All in all, it's a great set for Batman fans, movie buffs, car enthusiasts or anyone, really, who loves a fun building experience. (Who here doesn't?) As long as you don't mind using mainly black elements. I, for one, am tempted to also get the Batwing to complete the Dark Knight's classic vehicle set. 8)
If you were an 80's kid and loved all things Batman, you will absolutely love this LEGO DC Batmobile: Batman vs. The Joker Chase! and because it's from the iconic 1989 movie, I think we adults appreciated a lot more than a kid these days (of course, there's exceptions) this set has a total of 438 pieces, recommended for children 8+ I love how simple and fun these LEGO sets are made, it came with 4 clear plastic bags, each with a number from 1 to 4, this makes it super easy because you go in order through each bag, and each bag has a smaller bag with the smallest pieces in it. It was so so effortless to follow each page and build this amazing piece, I suppose you can kinda play with it, but for me it is an addition to my collection. Let me start by saying I'm a huge fan of the 1989 (and 1992) Batman films. They're awesome and it's fantastic that 30 years later Michael Keaton is back playing Batman in the Flash film.Anyway, as a huge Lego fan I've been waiting for the day the '89 Batmobile would be released in Minifigure scale. As soon as I heard it was going to be released, I eagerly awaited the opportunity to pre-order and I did so as soon as I was able. The Batmobile was delivered and I set to work building it, I'd say it took me a couple of hours to build, sat down in front of the TV with no urgency, just taking my time.I assumed it would be loaded with just black pieces but I was pleasantly surprised other random colours were used in the building of the chassis and floor pan.In all ... MoreLet me start by saying I'm a huge fan of the 1989 (and 1992) Batman films. The proportions are slightly off. This is in no small part due to the car only bring wide enough to fit Batman, and only him, in the cockpit. The car in the film has two front seats- he takes Vicki Vale to the Batcave, remember.Because this Lego Batmobile is designed to fit one Minifigure it actually looks much narrower than it should be. So it fails on both accounts. When Speed Champions switched from 6 to 8 studs wide it made such a positive difference to the proportions and aesthetic to the vehicles. Why didn't they do the same with the Batmobile. It makes absolutely no sense. Very frustrating.Even so, I really do love this Batmobile, despite its flaws.I could not in good conscience give it 5 stars though.
The scaled down Batmobile from Batman (1989) against the Batman Returns car (1992).Any concerns this would be the same vehicle released on its own away from the impressive Batman Returns Shadowbox Batcave are quashed with this release. It felt like a very different build and the finished product has plenty of differences. It still has the gun turrets and the rotating flame but the design has some alternatives externally and internally. If you can stump up the cash for the Batcave then it's still worth getting the solo vehicle - comes with Batman and Joker. If you can't afford/or justify the price of the Shadowbox, the Batmobile - and companion Batwing - is the way to go.
