My 10 year old, like most 10 year old boys absolutely loves Legos. So when we saw this Main Square we knew we had to try it. It is HUGE with 1500+ pieces and so many different buildings and features to build.It is challenging due to the size and various builds. But he has loved every minute spent on it.With being home schooled and staying home more finding activities he can do with dad, and even his little sister is important to us, and this set provides hours of quality and fun times together.As always the legos are top quality, so far we have not found any that were not easy to fit. And the assembled set keeps my boys attention.

I was host to my 3 children and 6 grandchildren this past Christmas and was wanting to come up with a fun family game or project to keep us busy. All of my grandchildren (3 girls, 3 boys, ages 4,5,7,8, and 2 age 9) enjoy playing with Legos so when I saw this great Lego City Main Square Setwith 1,517 pieces, it instantly got my attention! I loved the idea ,as suggested on the front of the box of this being a "family build together" set. This seemed perfect for what I was looking for and I was not disappointed! We divided up the projects so each family had a a part of the Main Street they were responsible for building. There are so many choices: City Diner, City Hall, Concert Stage, Subway and Station, Outdoor Recreation Area, Limousine, Motor Bike, Handyman Wagon, ... Everyone had a wonderful time and by the end of the day our Main Square was complete! What a wonderful idea this would be for any family gathering to get all involved in the fun, and yes, this grandma loves Legos too!

I have 2 complaints about this set.1st. The box art is very misleading and hints to a possible elevated track. AFOLs were super excited because we have been asking for tram track for a long time. So the box art is my first issue.2nd. The price point is high for this set in my opinion. I wouldn’t expect to pay more than 150 for this set with the amount of pieces and minifigs included.Don’t get me wrong it’s a nice set however this is a set that comes out every couple of years with a few differences. I wish LEGO would put out more modular buildings and please make a 2nd addition to Diagon Alley. I would definitely pay money for those but I can’t for this set.

Very nice set for the 6+ range, as listed on the box. The fact that the set is so modular is especially nice since individual models can be built separately by different people, or at different times by the same person, without dependency on the other models; it is like getting several separate sets in one, which is very fun and interesting and allows for them to either be combined all together into one set, used as separate play sets or displays, or combined with other sets. The set has a nice straightforward build for people who don't necessarily have the time for a long, complicated build, or want to put it together in a group. It is especially meaningful for people who enjoy the Lego television series that this set is based upon and/or for people who love cats, ... MoreVery nice set for the 6+ range, as listed on the box. It would be a fun set to purchase multiples off (although a little pricey) and make a larger building by combing two or more sets together; also, a longer tram could be created, etc. Overall, the set is very colorful, has lots of minifigures (many with two different face options), and is a fun and relaxing build for people of any age who just want to have some uncomplicated fun and more Lego models to display and possibly add to other sets.
I recently purchased this for my daughter for Christmas. Much to my surprise (and hers), it was such a great set to put together. I think she enjoyed it more than other sets as it essentially features mini-sets that you can tackle one at a time. There are some great features to the sets as well as some fun mini-figures included. I would highly recommend getting your hands on this set if you can, it’s well worth it.
Omg this Lego set was so much fun to build. We took it all out and got the instructions out put the numbered sets out in order. Him and I split it so we built together. It wasn’t difficult putting the pieces together. Just time consuming in a good way. Get all excited to see what you building and keep going. It all comes together. Loved taking the limo around the town with the corn figure waving you on. Running in the square with the lights twinkling and the statue staring. The tram was super fun playing with. Fitting the figures in and going around and around. Eating at the burger joint was yummy. Landing the helicopter and chasing the bad guy!!! I was told we have to add on!
I bought this set from the LEGO store and built it. I like this very much. This has Harl Hubbs' cart, the police car with Duke Detain, and Snake Rattler's motorbike. Freya McCloud's helicopter looks very cool and I think it is very funny that one of her faces is covered in coffee. The limousine is very cool as well. The new burger restaurant is very colorful and eye-catching. The park and stage also have some special designs. The tram and station are my favorite ones. The station is very cool and although the tram looks like the 2010 one, it actually is a new design. The town hall is very big and very detailed.
My kids ages 5 & 7 love this set! It is definitely on the easy side for such a large set, so my 5 year old enjoyed building many of the components independently. It includes lots of unique minifigure characters and accessories/items we have never seen before (e.g. microphone, pie, mop, etc.) My kids love the built-in story element and have enjoyed pretending and expanding on the personalities of the minifigures and their vehicles. The only criticism I have of this set is it's basically like many small sets packaged together. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but at this price point I had hoped the largest component of the set (city hall) would be a bit bigger/more complex.As a parent, I love that this set doesn't have any weapons or violence built-in to the ... A $200 city set that includes a train without tracks. For whatever reason lego is very stingy with train tracks and the wide full size train wheels and magnetic connectors.My kids spent 90% of their time at Lego land playing with the large train wheels and making their own trains. Can you buy them? No. Just a whole over priced set. Can you get enough tracks and crossing signals and switches for a cool train kit? No. Just the train and a small number of tracks.This set didn’t even include tracks for the train to ride on. Ultimate greed here
