A Rewarding Build

I have surely known the LEGO brand name for years but had no idea that LEGO Technic models even existed. I have built more than 20 3D "puzzles" (models) from other manufacturers (wood, plastic, metal) and then I discovered LEGO Technic. I am a serious MOPAR guy and had to have Dom's Charger. I am impressed with engineering that is incorporated.in this model. I am amazed at the accuracy of the finished product that is built from 1,107 plastic pieces that simply snap together. I would highly recommend this for young folks who may want to have a better understanding of the mechanics of automobiles.

I was hesitant at first to get this set because of all the complaints that it wasn't brick-built or as aesthetic as the Mustang but honestly, I'm glad I looked past it, because this turned out to be a really great set. Unlike the Mustang, which kinda just sits there looking pretty, doing nothing, this thing features a moving engine with a supercharger (my favourite) a VERY simple yet wonderfully-engineered chassis just begging you to modify it, and full working suspension to boot (we haven't seen working suspension in a Technic car for this scale and price in at least 15 years). No, it's not perfect. The body could use a bit more refinement, especially with all the gaps and holes, and not sure these wheels were the right choice, but hey, that's where one's ... MoreI was hesitant at first to get this set because of all the complaints that it wasn't brick-built or as aesthetic as the Mustang but honestly, I'm glad I looked past it, because this turned out to be a really great set. Don't leave Dom racing all on his own!!PS- I already did some minor mods of my own; swapped out the wheels for slightly bigger and more realistic ones (in my opinion) and raised the supercharger intake slightly as it is on Dom's original charger in the first FnF film.

I bought the 42093 Corvette last year but found it underwhelming; no suspension and an engine with little moving sticks?! So I had high hopes for 42111. Didn't happen though.Yes, it offers most functionality I want, like suspension, steering and opening doors. But I was utterly disappointed with the overall build! Various pieces are attached with one single stud (front grille, rear lights, rear bumper) and these fall apart fairly easily. For a model with 'play functions' this is unacceptable. At least the Mustang was designed to be pretty and it is, I own it too. Sure, this Dodge isn't pretty and doesn't look much like the real thing, but it's Technic. However, the roof of the Charger is wobbly and all the body panels can be twisted and turned. Doors don't open smoothly and can be pushed beyond 90 degrees. I could bash on for a while. Why still 3 stars? I enjoyed the overall build. The chassis is sturdy and fully functional. I will use the Charger to modify it into a Roadrunner; I'm not into F&F. Lego will remain my favourite pass time. But I'd like to ask current Lego designers to spend some time with sets from the 80's and be amazed by the bomb-proofness of those builds.

42111 is really an amazing set. It is my first big Technic vehicle set and I think its a great start to a big Technic vehicle collection. It looks just like the car in the movie despite the holes and pegs. The steering works well (although it under steers a bit) and the suspension, I thought was pretty cool. I like how the hood opens so u can see the working V8 engine a little more. The moving pistons and air blower I didn't think was possible without a motor. Although the doors do not open on the car in the movie, I actually like how the doors on the Lego Charger open. The little fire extinguisher that was in the place of the passenger seat I thought was a nice touch. I thought is was cool enough that the shift lever moved, and then I noticed that when the shift lever is pulled back it does a wheelie which blew my mind. Then the trunk; it opens as I expected and the nitro bottles are pretty cool. I put some flames and an extra peg in the exhaust pipes to make it look like the nitro is being used. With the flames it looks a lot better in my opinion. There is a lot of details and I think the car when it is all built together it looks great. There are only 2 flaws in the car that I see; 1. The steering wheel is a little too big. 2. The car feels rickety and when you hold it it feels like it is gonna fall apart any second but it doesn't somehow. In conclusion, this is an amazing set and well worth the money. Now I really hope that Lego will also come out with Brian's Toyota Supra as a Technic set for $100 also!

This was my first set is 5 years that I bought for myself. My wife's family are big fans of the Fast and Furious franchise, so I got an easy go ahead to buy it when it came out back in April of 2020.Pros:- It feels like a Dodge. hefty, chunky grumpy looking.- Love the engine and drivetrain.- The front back and side views look great.- Full suspension on the back axle and independent in the front.-Engine DetailCons:- Top down view it looks like a black plastic rectangle- Rear suspension is built a little weak for my liking. The way it is built causes some bending near the connection points on the frame when pushed on. not a deal breaker though.- Interior feels very lacking. For this price point I get it, but at least connect the steering wheel to the actual front axle, not just attached by a connector pin for looks.- the 2 light grey small angle pieces on each end of the back bumper tend to fall off if bumped the wrong way while moving. Almost lost them in the carpet a few times already.- Front grille outline is a little weak and could be easily made better with less pieces, which would make it stronger and have less cracks reducing the look of many separate pieces. All in all a great set with some functionality to make it fun to look at and interact with. If you have some parts in your spare parts bin to tweak a few things, it definitely can be a display piece in your collection, and something fun for everyone.SIDE NOTE: If LEGO ever decides to create this iconic car in the same manner and level of detail as the Ford Mustang from the Creator Expert line, I think it would do quite well.

First off, I think the look of this is much better in person than in the photos. It is also larger than I was expecting. The building process and using the mechanical features was fun. The interactive features of this set are the following, the hood opens to see the entire engine, the doors open to revel the seat and steering wheel on the driver's side and the NOS take in the passenger side. You can move passenger side tank to easily access the shift lever to engage the wheelie stand. The stand locks in place to lift the front of the car off the ground. The trunk opens to show two extra NOS tanks. Each wheel has independent suspension, and there is a steering mechanism on the back between the trunk and the the window opening. Got this for myself to help me quit smoking. I'm 47 the instructions are ok to understand I had to look at a few of them a few times and take it apart at times to make it fit the instructions right. I ended up just opening all bags and putting them on my table. I would suggest just open the bags that are needed per instructions because I had to search the parts several times to find the right parts. Also some of the parts don't match the colors so on this I think they need to give more of the correct color parts and not make it to where you have to use a different color. Other then that great build and a good gift if you wanted to gift it.

Mopar Madness...with some caveats.

As a Mopar man my whole life, I would have preferred Kowalski's 1970 Challenger from the movie Vanishing Point but hey; close enough for hand grenades they say. First, what I like: the mechanical aspects. All of the building of the drivetrain, suspension and engine areas was great. What I don't like: the attachment of the blower. It "floats" above the engine and would look better incorporated into the actual engine block. The "chrome" details are chunky and out of proportion. As much as I hate relying on stickers, I actually would have preferred them incorporated into the design over the "knob and tube" look they used. And finally, the color choices for the otherwise great "invisible" wheelie stand. There must have been an overstock of them in the factory. Now I'm purchasing the replacement parts to make it disappear. All in all, an engaging build and super happy that my 25 year old daughter gave it to me for my birthday. She knows me well!

I have a deep love of the Fast & Furious franchise so when I stumbled on this set I thought it was pretty neat. Not too flashy or gimmicky, can pass for just a nice muscle car build without needing the movie tie in.Obviously it is not as intricate or detailed as some of the larger and more expensive Technic car models(Porsche, Lambo, Bugatti), but for what you're paying it's a pretty decent set.The doors open, working suspension, opening trunk and hood, pistons run, the visible timing chain moves, and hand-of-god steering(the steering wheel is decorative only; steering is done via a knob at the back of the car). And to top it off the hidden prop under the car that can be raised or lowered to provide the "action" of a wheelie from the first movie is nice for ... MoreI have a deep love of the Fast & Furious franchise so when I stumbled on this set I thought it was pretty neat. The axles stick out beyond the wheels, which is the same on the door handles. The seat exists solely to say there is a seat. The roll cage and some of the trim representing chrome is awkward. I give credit to the designer for making this happen, but I would have preferred a slightly higher price for a little more attention to detail, or leaving off some of the details you don't see in order to focus more on the ones you do.Bottom line it's a nice set and has a lot of value for what it is, but it is not on par with some of the larger licensed cars.

was given as a gift before pandemic, big challenge, am colorblind in one eye, limited in other for cataracts. was a blast, had to tear down and rebuild a couple of sections due to having used wrong piece. lost one piece, found it a year later. Lego wasted no time, no hassle. recieved part 2 wks later, finished. total time invested aprox 3 weeks. would love another. also bought light kit for, going to add soon. was hooked on so bad, when not at dialysis, was working on build. definitely worth it.
