LEGO Technic Ford F-150 Raptor 42126 Toy Model

This was a lot of fun to put together. I'm a huge fan of the Food Raptor, and a Lego set of it was a no-brainer for me.Despite being a huge Lego nerd for nearly 30 years, I have never done a Lego Technic set. I don't know if the difficulty and level of detail is the norm for Lego Technic, but I was very impressed. The box says ages 18+, and I can understand why you wouldn't want to give this to an 8 year old, it requires patience and presence of mind to put together. For me, that is a lot of the appeal, I want looking for a toy or just a decoration, I wanted something challenging. Now I'm going to have to restrain myself from buying a whole bunch of different Lego Technic models.

The build is satisfying and can be challenging depending on your Lego skills. There are very few areas in the instructions where you wonder why the designer chose a certain step at a certain point in the build, and could have done it elsewhere. Some pages are a bit difficult to read because the new pieces disappear in the rest of the illustration - they aren't highlighted.Two minor flaws in the finished model:The front wheels seem to have some excessive drag in the socket/knuckle, this causes the alignment to toe-out, which causes the steering to swing left or right when rolling forward or back.The suspension travel is short, the rear especially; about 50% of the full-size truck. Items arrived quick and packaged well. The details in this model are nice and took a decent amount of time to complete. The only downside was in packaging from Lego. The sticker sheet was squished by the bags, causing some of the individual stickers to peel back and lose a bit of adhesion. Other than that, the set is solid.
