I really like using this camera and am extremely pleased with the quality of my photos. I had been using Sony camera which now feel like computers with a lens. I appreciate the simplicity of the Leica M11, which keeps my focus on the photo composition rather than the camera operation. The camera feels solid and well engineered, and I smile each time I push the shutter button. Yes, it's an expensive camera but I'm so glad I bought it. I am a street photographer and wanted a small and light full frame camera, with good interchangeable lens options, and zone focusing capability. First impressions compared to my M10: Much better highlight control.Incredibly sharp and beautiful photos. Great color. Much improvedbattery life and I like the new battery format, similar to the Q2/SL2. Ilike the lighter weight and the external power/data connection. Nolearning curve required. I like the new menu and sharp & brightdisplay. As far as dislikes, I really have none.

I wanted a black camera for stealth, but not with an aluminum top plate. A 60mp camera that is lighter is not a great move. I had to watch my technique with the M10R. If I get sloppy now, I get blurry images. Gone is the fancy box of the M10s. I guess I did not buy the Leica for the box anyway. And no brass hot shoe cover, hello Match Technical.OK, enough of being picky.So, I traded my M10R for the M11. Leica has done it again! I did not think they could top the M10R...but they did! I have not had a chance to get out and realty push the M11, but... The big dog in the room...60mp in a tiny (comparatively) package, WOW! But the M11 has so many more tricks to offer. The price has gone up some, but the value and usefulness has more than covered that. Would I recommend the M11, I already have/do!

I learned my lesson about using Leica Service through 7 months of aggravation with a defective M10-R, and therefore just returned this camera. Currently waiting for an exchange. Leica's service does not match the premium position of their products, and lack of a professional service program disqualifies their equipment from professional use.The file quality is beautiful and it really is the smallest, highest quality full frame camera kit available...if it operates properly. The battery capacity is much better than the M10-R, and the slightly lighter weight is a welcomed change. The USB port should have a dust cover. Received it last week. I love the weight this time. I normally use a finger grip for previous Ms but not for this one. The new menu is very easy to use.However, the new battery design gives me some issue. When it's inserted on side of the battery does not match the surface to the camera body. Bumps out a bit. Maybe it's early model issue though still I don't think good quality control from Leica.B&H is great! Very speedy process for my return exchange!

With 64GB onboard memory, plus an SD slot, finally you can store 2 copies of what you shoot, so that if the card fails you don't lose your work. Of course it is a PITA to get the images out of the onboard storage, but hopefully Leica will address this.A much bigger buffer than the M10.An electronic/mechanical shutter that lets you shoot your superfast lenses without an ND filter.A great EVF that doesn't fall off the camera.Great battery life (unless you use the EVF....)I love the easy battery and card access.Beautiful files.Much bigger buffer than previous cameras.Fun to shoot.Best digital M ever. Good Points: Build Quality, handling, results, dynamic range, the colours, pleasure to use. Old fashioned feel. At one with the camera. Ease of menu use.Improvement Points: Focusing with rangefinder in poor light or with subjects which don’t lend themselves to rangefinder focusing. Focus assist/peaking is not as good as on my Q2 monochrom. But it’s still early days and I am slowly getting to know the camera.

The Visoflex II EVF is a huge step up from the EVF for the Leica M typ 240 series. Best of all is the well thought out software, with up to 4 user customizable Info Profile screens for the EVF & Live View, including choices of turning on or off: grids, histogram, level indication, focus peaking, and exposure settings. Rear control wheel can be set to control EVF/LV magnification. It's a must-have accessory I think.I look forward to capturing some great travel and landscape images with my M11, but I think it would also make a good camera for street or reportage photography.With the shutter set to full electronic the camera could be used in complete silence for concert photography or shooting marriage ceremonies.
Beautiful and minimalistic design that is all Leica with a number of modern features that raise Leica?s M11 to compete with other dslrs. The color rendition on jpgs, which are not that useful for those who shoot raw, are phenomenal nevertheless.The camera is light and the ergos are good. Waiting for the camera grip and EVF which will make this the perfect camera for most situations.Still not a true long exposure camera, it nevertheless works for landscape and street photography equally well.
