This camera is just the best. It has the Leica badge, and is all the would be expected of a Leica camera. Its easy to use, versatile and very practical. The quality of the images are second to none. The download to my pc is fast and efficient. The LED screen is brilliant to use. The camera can be used a s a point and shoot or as a professional piece of kit. A truly beautiful machine, worth every penny. The lens is staggering and you just don't need anything else. I have a Nikon D50, but this boy is far superior in my opinion.

After spending 11 days in Europe with my D800e, 24-70, 70-200 and several other lenses, I came home thinking that there has to be a better way.The Nikon captures great images but I felt bogged down and stressed with the weight and inventory of my equipment. Cleaning sensors from changing lenses, losing lens caps . . . I was not enjoying my photography.I took a look at the Leica V-Lux 114 and found that it is exactly what I needed. This seems like a good camera, but, it doesn't really feel like a Leica. It is very similar to the Panasonic FX2500, at a lot more money. Image quality seems pretty good, but not exceptional.

Excellent service & speedy delivery. V Lux 114 is a superb camera but still getting used to what it can do. Immediate thoughts are bulky but lightweight with fantastic focussing speed. And, at the end of the day it has that red dot.
I acquired the cameras recently and have used it on two occasions so far. It is quite large but the features are comprehensive and the menus are easy tonavigate. The camera handles well: the viewfinder is bright and shows whatever information you decide you need. Auto focus is good and the pictures are very satisfactory. It is a good all-round general purpose camera which seems to be well made. How the Leica version differs from that by Panasonic, I do not know but the 3 year warranty and the software available from Leica are a bonus.Delivery from Wilkinsons was very prompt and the camera was very well packed.
All good things to say except for one important thing... If you are an Apple user and want to have your pictures magically appear in Apple Photos - good luck! As far as I can tell there is no way to sync the camera with your computer to upload your images into Apple photos. There is a Wifi button, but I have yet to figure out how it's supposed to work. I tried playing with it a couple of times with the manual in front of me to no result. So I am now relegated to "researcher" to make this camera usable when I have some free time during business hours - which is of course rare for me. BW
I love this camera, it has so many different types of settings. I'm still learning about it. I have shot with canon cameras all my life but needed to down size for travel and this Leica V Lux fit the ticket. I love its zoom. Very nice eye view. And simple to use. The only thing I would like to see is better weather proofing. But nothing a rain sleeve can't handle for now.
Good ergonomics for my hands. I've tried the smaller Sony XV cameras but the buttons and grip make it somewhat difficult to use. The C-Lux grip feels good for my small hands and buttons are well laid out. The focus is a little soft on the long end but it is great to have such a huge range of zoom in a fairly compact camera.

But because I am very gentle with my cameras, this is a non-issue for me.If image quality was the only feature I was allowed to evaluate, then I would give this camera a "no-brainer" 5. But I do wish it had the D-Lux 7's body style, and I also wish it had an f2.8 max telephoto aperture like the D-Lux 7 (the V-Lux has a max aperture of f4 at the telephoto end). Universal, for all types of filming. Even an amateur will figure it out. Especially pleasing are the ready-made shooting parameters loaded into the camera itself. Excellent optics! It has a focal length range of 25-400 mm in 35 mm equivalent. This is very good for a compact camera with an inch matrix. 16x optical zoom is enough for the owner in the vast majority of cases, excellent color reproduction. Shoots videos in 4K format, there is Wi-Fi, which is very convenient. It's worth the money.
