So, I was very hesitent to get this laptop.. Walmart is known for selling cheap laptops that don't last. I've also had my share of experiences with the Lenovo brand, as well as the ThinkPad series of laptops.This laptop has yet to dissapoint. After I updated all the needed firmware and got rid of all the bloatware(including anything Microsoft 360), this laptop runs like a machine 6x its price. I've been getting two days of battery life out of this thing, having owned it now about a week. It does have an SD card slot on the right hand side, but the car WILL stick out when in use, so keep that in mind. The keyboard is AMAZING to type on. I did, however, erase all the data from the old version, as well as immediately pull it out of S mode. The track pad works great, but it might be beneficial to the user to add a bluetooth mouse, though I don't feel the need for one.All in all, for about 160 after tax, this laptop is worth the price.

Many times, the touchpad would think I'm 'clicking' by tapping when I slightly move my hands, so I had to disable that functionality so that it only clicks when I fully press on it.Overall, the laptop isn't bad but Lenovo needs to address these issues as I've heard they're pretty common online. Luckily, I haven't had any issues with performance or battery life (about 4-5 hours on extreme performance mode) which is what I was mostly worried about. I think some of these issues may have also been because of Windows 11 but others are definitely an issue on the driver side.However, if I were to make the purchase again, I would probably spend $300-400 more and get the new Legion Slim 7 w/ WQXGA screen since it seems to be the better option overall and has more support.

I decided to disconnect it and close the game until the temperature dropped, I have to mention that I did all the updates that the Lenovo Vantage application requested and also those of Windows itself, however the problem continued during the course that I continued testing it with the game that I mentioned, I ended up realizing that this computer does not have real gaming capabilities, I could have kept it for work use, but for that I would have bought a lighter laptop with better battery life, therefore I decided to return it. I have to say that Lenovo resolved me quickly through the chat to be able to make the return, they attended me very well.Best of all, thanks to this experience I learned that with a thin and relatively light laptop that has a dedicated GPU and a 120 Hz screen it is wrong to think that there will be no excess heat and poor battery life when playing demanding games. In my case, I'm going to get a desktop computer to play at home and have a lightweight laptop with long battery life for outings. But if you are definitely going to be gaming outside your home then look for a laptop that is designed for gaming but you have to understand that it is going to be heavier because it is going to need good ventilation and a bigger battery.

I have been using this machine since early December 2022.My research brought me to this Lenovo Idealpad, addressing my needs - Windows 11, battery usage, reliable, non-gamer and within my budget.Setup and transfer from my Dell was quick and unexpected simply (scared me, but simple) - OneDrive transferred files while Google and Firefox synchronised bookmarks and Microsoft synchronised Office Desktop. In all cases, signing on was all that had to be done. Lighter in weight than my previous ten-year-old laptop, and the non-disc-based storage starts up faster and helps with better performance.It looks like Lenovo have since launched a laptop of similar spec with an Intel i5 processor from the next generation, but it's currently retailing at a higher price; and so I'd still choose this one, which does everything (quickly) I'm likely to need and must be close to the cheapest 15-inch laptop with Intel i5 processor on sale in Britain at this spec.

I use this laptop for not only home use but mainly for college. I love this laptop! I almost purchased the Microsoft surface pc. Reason why I didn't because I was debating on sale prices and how soon I can get a good laptop. I also looked at other laptops but other ones I've looked at for certain features weren't on sale. Matte screens are better outside, but the backlight can't hand outdoor use.the hard drive is Emmc, not SATA or NVM, which are typically faster, but Emmc has come a long way in the past 10 years, and this Emmc is actually quick, 100mb/s speeds, which is faster than a mechanical hard drive would be and close to real world speed of SATA solid state drives. All this means that is doesn't feel slow or laggy when launching programs.the CPU is decent. 1 ghz base, but 3ghz burst, and all cores will go to 2.4ghz for a few seconds, and if extended multithreaded is needed, will drop to 1.8ghz on all cores until the work is complete. that's how the intel TDP works to keep the cpu in the 6 watt thermal envelope, so it is very quick with light loads, but slows for extended loads, like video encoding.perhaps the most disappointing thing is that it can't process full screen youtube. It should, it has VC-9 hardware encoding in the integrated graphics, but it does not without lagging, and when not in full screen, it will play lag free, but with moderate to high cpu usage. I suspect this may be an intel driver issue, but I'm not holding my breath that Intel will ever correct the issue as they have moved away from the atom based platforms.The privacy slider on the camera is a nice touch.

The very first day I opened it the computer could barley even get google going. I didn’t see it as an issue because I assigned the problem would fix itself. Spoiler alert, it did not.Additionally, the computer on multiple occasion will randomly go black and I would have to force restart it through a plethora of methods. This would result in lost work, files and more.Concluding, i bought this computer not barley 2 months ago. I am a college student who isn’t doing much on the computer apart from saving the occasional document to complete an assignment and their calculus homework. Nothing severe like trying to play high cap games that I know the computer can’t handle.Yesterday the computer went completely dark on me. No activity, I can’t turn it back on. Completely black and gone. I and positive I have done nothing to inflict this seeing that I take care of my electronics, especially when they’re hundreds of dollars.If you’re considering this computer take it from me, save yourself the time and the money. I hated this laptop from the day I received it. I wish I would have just waited and bought the laptop I originally wanted.If you do want to buy this laptop DONT consider getting it through Walmart. I had so many difficulties concerning this purchase with much miscommunication and loss money.
The look and feel is very good! The keyboard is awesome to type on, giving an excellent feedback. The screen is good and on par with the other similar size laptops in the family, but beware that there are 2 kinds of display in this series of lenovo and one of them has no flattering reviews.The harware on mine (AMD Ryzen 5 5625, 512GB SSD, 12GB RAM) is very promising and has been delivering a solid performance. The battery is a 45W and lasts for a long time, which is another positive.The speakers are loud enough, with the sound coming from the underside of the base on either side closer to the user. The headphone jack delivers very good sound quality (it depends on the headphones too)The body is all plastic, it flexes a bit, but doesn't feel fragile.Still ... MoreThe look and feel is very good! Although the ThinkPad is a pro laptop at an outstanding level way above this IdeaPad, I feel the same joy using this backlit keyboard, which has good visual led indicators of which functions are active.
This laptop is so far the best laptop I have ever had, by far one of the best touchpads I have ever tried, only being slightly edged out by a $2000 ZenBook 17 because it is not as big. Keyboard is nice but not winning any awards, big plus to make one of the hot keys a calculator to make the numpad extra useful. The DGPU unfortunately doesn't have MUX switch but will still run your games just fine for what runs well on a laptop 3050 if you just plug it into a tv or monitor. The main reason you would want this laptop over most others though is because it is a really great work surface for most anything you can throw at it, minus heavy editing. The windows hello implementation is lacking the speed and accuracy of other cameras I've tested which would make sense with the quality of the camera at only 720p. Speakers are pretty nice for small factor and just filling a room with sound, not really that high quality sound however. Battery has been a real delight, if you just need to pull it out for a hour 15 class at 20 percent it will do that for you also holding a charge well for a couple days. Not slow to charge either and I do appreciate charging lights as well as power status lights. As a work laptop this will be everything you need and more if you like working on a large surface with a large 16:10 screen, 120hz is just right for a nice kick of responsiveness without too much power draw. It can also get plenty bright to counter sunlight and very dark for working in the dark. I do really love working of this laptop and it an excellent complement to my work flow offering no hindrance to any aspect of my work.
