I bought this chromebook about a year ago, and I'm absolutely hating it! This chromebook has an arm processor with slow MediaTek processor, which means that it will be unable to run most of basic functionality such as video editing, let alone run a linux operating system. This chromebook is so slow, in fact it shuts down randomly whenever it feels like it. 4GB of RAM sounds sufficient, right? No, this chromebook leaks memory so much that it cannot even run a basic extension such as a screen recorder. I've been trying to join google meet, and this chromebook is so slow in video processing, so that the screen is laggy. The chromebook has hardware issues, too- its camera often stops functioning, and I had to powerwash and recover this chromebook 4 times already! The chromebook has hardware issues, too- its camera often stops functioning, and I had to powerwash and recover this chromebook 4 times already! Also, you should keep in mind, if you are trying to print, then good luck. Chromebooks, after they removed the Google Cloud Print, would not support printers (unless it is a Google-approved printers which I do not have and I do not wish to buy). The cursor is the worst- the cursor of the mouse lags so much, that it is impossible to browse. And, talking about price, the price is so expensive for a generic chromebook- over $300! Honestly, you can buy a decent intel-based chromebook for $200 or less, and this chromebook, given that it does not even have touchscreen, is too expensive. Also, there is only one USB port (USB A). They advertise it as two, but really, the USB C port is just a charging port. Performance degrades exponentially, I would never recommend this product!

I like the all aluminum body, the glass trackpad is smooth and pleasant to use, (something that I believe is very important), and it has a touchscreen. Every once and a while this is helpful when you are choosing your Netflix/Hulu (or whatever) profile whilst cozying up on the couch, or in bed and don’t want to awkwardly contort your body to use the trackpad. I know, this seems ridiculous; however, it’s the little things that you don’t realize that make a difference until you use them. The brightness of the screen is acceptable; not super bright, but bright enough. The USB-C ports on either side of the machine make charging the laptop easy, no matter where you are sitting in relation to where the outlet that the computer is plugged into. (Both USB c inputs charge the laptop for those who do not know). The keyboard might be arguably the most important aspect. I am not as excited about the keyboard, but I also believe after some use, our muscle memory takes over and we manage just fine. I think the clicks are a little too loud, but I have big hands and might type louder too.The reviewer who got all up in arms about not having the backlit keyboard might have done better to read Walmart’s advisory information that is stated in red letters that essentially said that they do their best to advertise correctly, but don’t always have all the correct information, so the buyer must be aware. So it’s not technically false advertising in that context as that reviewer is insisting is true. Further, there is plenty of information online about this particular unit not having the backlit keyboard; not to mention the fingerprint scanner. You can find the unit with both of these upgrades at Acer, and on Amazon for around $600-800.Another thing I like: This unit does not have the blue/green/yellow/red chrome logo on the top of the lid. This just has the grey’d out google logo, which makes it look more premium in my opinion. Also, this unit has a fan, but you really have to push it for it to turn on; so no setting it on the couch with the lid open and it running! All in all It’s a pretty fast laptop; not the fastest but not slow enough for it to have annoyed me yet after several days of testing it. Is all of the important? Probably not, however no one likes sitting in front of their screen and waiting. It has just come to that nowadays.I think for the money this is a good deal. But if you want a super premium Chromebook then do some googling and some research, and be prepared to spend at least $700 after tax. I tried to write this review from the eye of someone who wants to buy something that looks sleek, but doesn’t want to break the bank. For some of you, what I have said here will sound superfluous; however, some of you, I hope, will appreciate what I have said.

As far as the RAM goes, it can handle teamviewer, chrome with several tabs, nine (email app), netflix, and skype, all running simultaneously, without problems in any of them. I am astounded. I actually think this is replacing my gaming laptop and cost only 10% of the price. Obviously this chromebook cannot play heavy PC games, so I will be using my xbox for most gaming moving forward, but my gaming laptop gets really hot and has a fan like an airplane taking off, is so expensive I worry about it when traveling, doesn't really hold a battery charge long due to all the power it consumes, and when I am not gaming it is just more than I need all around. This chromebook is something I can travel with and not worry about it being expensive, the battery seems pretty good, I can use it most of the day without worry about plugging in, and really for general use I haven't had any issues. I have been an android phone user for a long time, so I knew what to expect from the UI. It did take a while to adjust to not having a delete key and clicking with two fingers to right click, I am not sure if that is specific to this chromebook or all chromebooks, but besides those adjustments the keyboard is really nice, the keys have good bounce to them and the layout feels really spacious for the size. The overall build is definitely plasticy, so yeah if you push on it there will be bend, and I am not a fan of the white, but this thing can handle being thrown around a bit, it seems pretty sturdy. The only other downside is that the bezel is huge, I would gladly have paid a little more to have the screen be larger in the same overall frame, and there is definitely room for another inch on the diagonal without any redesign required, so I am a little bummed lenovo didn't consider making that an option. The speakers aren't the best, but I was expecting that and mostly use a headset anyways. I also really like the option of tent/tablet mode, as well as the full size USB and HDMI ports.

The two stars are for the style, feel, lightweight, and fast charging. But otherwise I was unable to use it and This chromebook was trash. Bought it and it arrived fairly quick (awesome!). Attempted to set it up the next day got to the Network page and it kept giving the same error. Very disappointed in this chromebook I was looking forward to gifting it to a family member before moving out of town.
I've been using Chromebooks since they first came out and this was my first ""expensive"" Chromebook. My family has owned about eight Chromebooks, and I don't think I've spent over $250 on any of them. \n\nThis one, with the Intel Core i3 processor and 4 GB memory, flies through tasks with ease. Even though 4 GB memory doesn't seem like much nowadays, for a lightweight operating system like what the Chromebook uses, this is more than enough. The large 128 GB internal storage is also nice. Most Chromebooks come with usually just 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage, so this is a nice upgrade.\n\nThe Chromebook looks good - it is sleek with all aluminium hardware and the keyboard is nice, but it does not have back-lighting. The touch-pad is sleek and nice with a Gorilla-glass surface, but it does require one to push down on it with a audible click sometimes to activate certain functions and that I didn't care for too much.\n\nThe touchscreen is nice - it is bright and responsive. With the modern Chrome operating system, one can load all of their Android apps (like Skype, Zoom, games, etc.), so a touchscreen is essential to run those types of programs. This functionality adds to the Chromebook universe and this unit can handle all of that with ease.\n\nI highly recommend this Chromebook. In fact, I bought one and my wife and I liked it so much, I bought another one a week later. This is probably the best value ""higher end"" Chromebook on the market as of me writing this review. And getting this for around $370 during the coronavirus pandemic, when finding Chromebooks is difficult, is a great deal in my opinion.
I bought this for my son for Grade 2 online schooling. I have personally set up my own account on it to give it a try and I'm happily surprised with performance and the ease of use of the ChromeOS. This isn't your top of the line Chromebook but that is expected for the price. The speakers are okay and the screen is alright. It does use a TN panel screen which in general can have washed out coolers from wide viewing angles but this one is quite nice when compared to cheaper TN panels. It feels like a solid machine and so far for any of mine or my son's online uses I haven't experienced any slow downs or hang ups, it runs his online learning games with ease. I previously had a Chromebook which decided to breakdown the day before Black Friday, so I was lucky to order this newer version at a great price. The transfer between laptops was easy and I find this new version much faster. I like the fact that the speakers are on either side of the keyboard (so you get real stereo sound !) I like some of the changes that were made to the OS, other than one thing. I prefer Windows Outlook email to Google email. I can'nt seem to get notifications of new emails on Chromebook and I really liked that. With my Gmail account, I have to keep checking to see if there are any new emails. That's a hassle. I got this chromebook on sale for nearly half price ($159, plus I had gift cards so it ended only costing $122) after being unable to procure an HP touchscreen chromebook on a Black Friday deal that sold out immediately. I was surprised to get a chromebook this price and was especially pleased I was able to get it with free next day delivery after fighting out of stocks for over a month on chromebooks. We mainly use it for my son's hybrid schooling on Google Classroom and I use it for streaming content. Setup was quick and painless, about 10 minutes since I added several new apps and customized the home screen. Not needing an antivirus or software to install is a huge plus for those of us who really only need it for a few select functions. Just connect to your Wifi, log in to your Google account, go through a brief tutorial on apps and settings and you're off to the races! This Lenovo performs as well if not better than other models I've used recently. The picture is adequate with limited viewing angles being my only complaint. I was able to watch Netflix and stream football being pleased with the quality of both. Sound is good, but the speakers are placed underneath, which means the sound can be muffled if it isn't slightly elevated. The keyboard and touchpad are much more responsive than some I've used and the browser and apps load swiftly. The bluetooth connected easily with my Sony receiver to play music over stereo speakers. The battery seems to be giving about 10 hours with varied usage and the build is pretty solid. All in all I'm very pleased with this purchase! Thank you for a great deal!
Google is brilliant... I need a high performance laptop only about 10% of the time and have one, but it's strapped down with many connections including a fan... so 90% of the time, I need simple stuff done. They designed Chrome to be closed and simple, with optimized software supporting the essential things we do, and only essential options functions, with the best of selections for those and not a thousand. With google drive, you essentially have a versatile hard drive, google photos, a photos album backed up, google docs and sheets for business and writing (and others for presentations etc.). Like I said, 90% of the stuff I do can be done on this.Because of this great operating system built around versatility is one reason with this Lenovo can run so fast and not stutter on tasks. This one would have to be one the most underrated values out there... an outstanding battery life, a sleek and quality feel and weight, a wonderful keyboard with solid intuitive layout, a screen that inverts around to expose the tablet aspect, and a very nice looking screen (not perfect in today's oled and qled world, but definitely nice). The speakers have good sound, and don't sound boxy. This one is a clear winner; the only caveat is that you can't drop it, but I never do that... and is that really too much to ask - that you don't drop it on the concrete, lol.I bought it on sale for $159!!! This has to be one of my best valued purchases in a long time.
I bought this as a small travel computer leisure game device. Best Buy put this Chromebook on sale the week before Thanksgiving, so I couldn't resist. I have used Chromebooks for a few years now, along with Windows and Mac, so I knew that I was getting a different type of device than a Windows or Mac laptop. For those of you unfamiliar with Chromebooks, you should learn a few key differences such as:1. Chromebooks are great for web surfing and doing tasks that use Cloud storage solutions, such as Google's G-Suite (Docs, Sheets, Presentation, Drive, etc.).2. While you don't have to have a Google account to use one, you won't be able to do much beyond web surf without a gmail account.3. While you don't have to have a Google account to use one, you won't be able to do much beyond web surf without a gmail account.3. Storage is much smaller than Windows or Mac laptops since almost everything is stored on your Google Drive.4. Programs are not installed on the Chromebook, with the exception of an executable file that allows you to open the program (stored online) so you don't need as much drive space as you might on a Windows or Mac.5. Processors and video are not going to be as "high end" as you get on Windows or Mac, and many services (ie. Steam, UPlay, etc.) don't run on them as of yet.6. ChromeOS is Google, so it is similar to an Android phone, and installs apps through the same store. Think of it as having an iPhone and an iPad, where you can install apps, access music and movies through the same account, just the Google Play store. As for me, I have both personal and work related accounts through Google's services (I work for a school district) and my children also have them for school, so any of them can log in and have all of their school related materials available. Why buy this Chromebook?1. Decent size (not too big, not too small) for a travel laptop2. Screen colors and resolution work well in most lighting and for watching movies/playing games3. Battery life is very good under normal use4. Storage and RAM were above average for the price (think of RAM as your workspace and Memory as your file cabinet or tool storage, so more RAM increases performance and saves battery life generally speaking5. Keyboard is better than expected for a device in this price range6. Not all Chromebooks have a touchscreen, but this one does and it folds over to become a tablet (a 2-in-1)7. Charging by USB-C so it can use the same charger as my cell phone (or vice versa)8. Built in HDMI port so I can connect physically to another screen, but can also Cast to other screens through Wi-Fi on the Chrome browser9. Touchpad has additional features not in all budget friendly Chromebooks10. You can compare it to the high end PixelBook from Google, which I was also considering, and decide what your own price/performance needs are (Lenovo C330)11. Camera and microphone work well for Zoom or other video conferencingHopefully all of this information is helpful to you in your own quest, regardless of your decision.
