I've had the Duet for about a week, and it's been great so far! I should note that I bought this on sale for $150 at the time, and that is an insane deal.Bear in mind that this device is a Chromebook, and won't support as many things as Windows or macOS (it does have Linux support, however). But keep the amount you'd be paying in mind and maybe you won't be disappointed. The Duet's battery life is probably the best technical aspect of this device. Low brightness can let the battery last a good chunk of the day if you use it for light tasks like web browsing or notetaking, you could even throw in a YouTube video on picture-in-picture.With 4GB of memory, don't expect stellar performance with heavy multi-tasking or 10+ Chrome tabs, you might find the device ... MoreI've had the Duet for about a week, and it's been great so far! As for the MediaTek processor, while I knew nothing about it beforehand, it seems to hold up pretty well and handles most things at a good speed. The display exceeded my expectations, it's nice and has pretty high brightness. Though it isn't the greatest out there, it's pretty good in my opinion! The keyboard is small, and will definitely take getting used to. And the cover/kickstand adds a little weight, but it's not a big deal. There are, of course, flaws, but nothing that will destroy your experience. Remember that you should be buying this based on what you'll be needing. If you're looking for a gaming device or something to download Windows programs on, this isn't it.chromeOS is great for online productivity, but will always have the downside of not having as much support as Windows or macOS devices. The Duet has exactly ONE USB-C port and no headphone jack. Yeah, not ideal, but if you buy a USB hub the problem will be solved. The cameras are… bad, pretty bad - but it’s an option for video conferencing and would get the job done. The speaker isn’t the greatest, but serves its purpose; some might find themselves using Bluetooth earbuds if the option is available. All in all, great 2-in-1 device! I will definitely be adding some bluetooth accessories like a mouse and stylus sometime.

The Lenovo Duet is a true case of "You get what you pay for" I got it on sale for $212 + tax due to a price match with Lenovo's website. To pay that much and get a Chromebook that runs "most" android apps and come with a keyboard is a steal. While I'd agree with many of the larger publication reviews that it may be the best in its price bracket, there isn't much strong competition in the under $300 category. The Good: It boots quickly and does most tasks without issue. This is a great device for streaming video, educational purposes, and working on documents. While not included the Lenovo USI Pen is an amazing accessory for this. While small and takes some getting used to, the keyboard is very responsive and easy to use. This is a great device for streaming video, educational purposes, and working on documents. While not included the Lenovo USI Pen is an amazing accessory for this. While small and takes some getting used to, the keyboard is very responsive and easy to use. It attaches easily with magnets that are strong enough to prevent accidental separation. The search button is a game changer and lets you launch almost anything easily. Battery does get about 10 to 12 hours of use. Screen is crisp and responds to touch well both from fingers and the USI Pen. I've heard that some video apps only display at 720p, but that's either not true or not an issue. I personally haven't noticed any decrease in Netflix or anime streaming. The Bad: While I haven't had any issues, going from my smartphone to this I notice a slight sluggishness in loading almost anything, including websites. The kickstand is a full cover for the back of the Chromebook. It's nice and sturdy, but it is only magnetized to the back so it slides around. It's not much, but it is noticeable. I purchased a case with a kickstand and don't use the included one anymore. Switching from tablet to laptop mode has some kind of delay, but if you don't detach and reattach the keyboard much it's not a huge issue.Summary: While there are issues here and there it's very hard to rate the Lenovo Duet as a 3/5 average product. For this price it's definitely above average and does everything I need it to do. I have noticed some incompatible games, but productivity and video apps have all worked without issue. I think it's a good product at the full $299 price tag, especially with the included Keyboard. If you catch one of the $249 sales or better, I don't think you'll find a better device for anywhere near that price. While I wouldn't recommend it as a primary device for daily use it's perfect as a secondary tool and travel companion.Note: I have not dropped the device so I cannot speak for its durability in full, but it does feel very sturdy.

It's a pretty little tablet and the keyboards and battery are all fine. I got rid of this thing because ChromeOS is too annoying to use without a lot of tweaking and pain.On a clean install, with the automatic updates applied: Some apps simply do not work properly, including Apple Music (freezes when you switch tasks) and ABC news (won't load articles). The default on-screen keyboard has a bizarre bug where hitting backspace INSERTS text instead. The entire system randomly crashed a couple times, and Firefox on this platform has some uncharacteristically dumb design choices - for example if you open a new tab you *must* load a new page before the button to view other tabs becomes visible.I get why companies like Lenovo moved away from windows on these kinds of ... MoreIt's a pretty little tablet and the keyboards and battery are all fine. This doesn't.

I bought this device as a laptop replacement and really wanted to like it. It started at a 5 when first purchased. Now, I give it a 3. I bought it for its size, included keyboard, and the 128 GB storage. I use(d) it on average once a week. When first purchased, it integrated Dropbox and MS Word perfectly. Now, MS Word is not available as an app on Chrome OS (a Microsoft move) so the integration is no longer seamless. After an OS update earlier this year, the keyboard no longer functions. A full reset did not restore the keyboards function. Posting on the Lenovo board did not result in a solution either. I had to buy a mini Bluetooth keyboard. I have issues with battery drain. When not in use, I turn off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. However, there are times when the battery ... MoreI bought this device as a laptop replacement and really wanted to like it. However, there are times when the battery is totally drained after not being used for several days. The device I purchased to use as a laptop replacement is now just another tablet.
After exhaustively researching this product, and seeing countless stellar reviews, I decided to purchase this to replace my aging tablet. I was incredibly excited upon opening the box; the presentation and build quality are excellent. Keyboard attaches itself easily and functions well, even with it's diminutive size. I've been incredibly underwhelmed by its' performance, however. I'm aware it's not a high-end processor by any means, but my Duet struggles to keep from stuttering when there's only 1 single app running. Nothing running in the background, no connectivity issues, latest OS version, but it is slow as a snail. I'm sadly not joking when I say my 4 year old tab running Android 7 runs circles around this. The Helio processor should perform better than it does ... MoreAfter exhaustively researching this product, and seeing countless stellar reviews, I decided to purchase this to replace my aging tablet. The Helio processor should perform better than it does here, so I genuinely wonder if mine has some hidden bug or something, although I've found no real support for my issue, so, if you're a prospective buyer, something to keep in mind
The biggest issue with this Chromebook is it only has 4GB RAM, so it gets bogged down easily if you have too many tabs or apps open. Disappointing because Chrome OS is surprisingly quite capable, with the full Chrome browser, Android apps, and Linux desktop apps. There's a lot you can do with it, just not all at once. I like Chromebook tablets better than Android tablets, but do know not all Android apps will run on this device. My second complaint is the speakers. They're too quiet. I really wanted to use this for streaming, but if there's any background noise, you may not be able to hear the sound, even with the volume turned all the way up.The small size is both good and bad. It's great for the portability, or using it as an ereader. It's great for the portability, or using it as an ereader. But it's not so good for certain websites or apps that don't fit well on such a small screen. It also means that the keyboard is a bit small and cramped but okay to type on.There's lots good about this Chromebook though. It's a great for portability, throw it in a bag and take it with you. You can use it like a laptop, or detach the keyboard and back cover and it becomes a nice tablet. Battery life is great (I typically get 8-12 hours) and charges quick with a good charger. Very nice display, maybe IPS and not AMOLED but still very good. The performance is decent, the eMMC storage means loading apps might be slow but they're reasonably fast once loaded. 128GB storage means you can install lots of apps and store lots of files with room to spare.Do I recommend it? It depends on what you're looking for.
-It's super light when used as a tablet without the magnetic case attached making it great for watching videos-Speakers are decent and clear just not the loudest so you need to be in a quiet area to hear good even on max volume. I usually use a bluetooth speaker with it-The 10 inch screen is great as a tablet but a little small when used with the keyboard as a tablet however the resolution and brightness are very good for this price I am very happy about that-People complain about the keyboard being cramped but I got used to it fast and can easily go back and forth between using it and the one on my 14 inch laptop no problem-It can slow down and apps freeze sometimes. Running just chrome it'll go all day but YouTube and other apps cut battery life down to just a few hours
It is a handy device with this price tag. When you only use it for internet surfing, video chatting, and light tasks. However, I find the battery only lasts for 4 to 5 hours after use, especially after video chatting, watching YouTube and not up to 10 hours as the product specification claims. So after a 3-hour video chatting, I need to re-charge the Chromebook. If this also comes with a fast charger, that would be great too. It takes 2.5 hours to fully charge the chromebook if you have the battery level as low as 20%. However, I like that it comes with keyboard and a kickstand which makes it very convenient to use on the desk. Also, I hope Lenovo can produce an upgraded chromebook of this type with more USB port as this one only has one USB C port. Overall, this is a well-made chromebook, easy to carry around as it can be used with the kickstand and keyboard or detach them to use as a tablet. Very satisfied with my purchase of a couple years ago.
I will first preface this review by saying that this is far from the best laptop/tablet out there. If you are looking for something to get serious intensive work done on, this is not it. This should probably not be your primary computing device. However, I think this device fulfills the purpose of being a secondary computing device better than any other laptop/tablet out there right now. That starts with the fact that everything you need is included in the box. Along with the tablet, you get a keyboard cover, case with kickstand, charger, and even a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter. Nice job there, Lenovo. The flexibility that this device offers for the pricepoint is unmatched. Nice job there, Lenovo. The flexibility that this device offers for the pricepoint is unmatched. You can use it like a normal tablet, watch content in stand mode, or even use it like a mini-laptop. Lenovo includes all the necessary hardware in the box to do this, and I am unaware of any devices in this price range that have all of this functionality. I will knock off a star due to the lack of a headphone jack, but at this pricepoint I am willing to brush that off as not a big deal. The only other complaint I have is the lack of a fingerprint scanner or some kind of biometric authentication. The tablet itself is remarkably well-made for the price, and the two-tone finish gives a splash of color into the design. The display is undoubtedly the standout feature of this tablet - it is bright, relatively pixel-dense, and decently color accurate. Of course, it will be blown away by the latest Galaxy flagship, but this exists in a different space. I appreciate Lenovo including stereo speakers, even if they are a bit tinny and generally unimpressive. The tablet does a good job at consuming multimedia with the display and speakers. Battery life is another strong win for this device. I hardly ever needed to grab a charger, and am averaging around 15 hours of screen on time with my usage. This is far better than any Galaxy Tab or iPad on the market, and the efficient processor has a lot to do with that. The battery longevity makes it a great companion on day or weekend trips where you won't have access to a wall outlet.ChromeOS does a great job of getting the best out of this little machine. It is a well-optimized and light operating system with tight integration into Android. I like that I can run my favorite Android apps and receive text messages on this tablet. This tablet also scores a win over the Galaxy Tabs and iPads in the browser department. This is full-fledged desktop Google Chrome, and you can use all of your favorite extensions and sync your browsing data across devices. This is something that Apple and Samsung cannot get right, and it is great to see it done in such an affordable tablet like this one. Because ChromeOS is so light on resources, this tablet can handle some multitasking and some apps loaded in the background without any fuss.Overall, this is a great device and fills a few niches excellently. It would be a great starter device for kids to use at school, as it provides an affordable entry into online computing and learning. For technology enthusiasts who don't want to break the bank on a Galaxy Tab or iPad to use as a secondary device, this is compelling because of the immense value and smart optimizations in ChromeOS that are ahead of even what Samsung and Apple can provide. This is my go-to device when I want to chuck something in my bag for a day trip, but don't want to lug around my laptop. I bought this tablet for $186 on sale, and I don't believe there is a better value purchase on the market right now.
