Excellent tablet, if you ignore Android quirks

The P11 Gen 2 is a decent all-around tablet. For the price, it's excellent. It's fantastic for media consumption, and decent for note-taking and other productivity tasks. Where it lacks is software features and updates. The biggest complaint I have is that Lenovo has some quirky implementation of Android, which does not allow you to remove the taskbar. Additionally, you have to swipe down on separate sides of the screen to see notifications and the quick access menu, which is just strange. Software is a bit behind, as this tablet is still on Android 12, which is almost 2 gens old at this point. Beyond these slight flaws, this is an excellent tablet.

I'm happy with my purchase of the P11 Gen 2 so far. The processor speed is adequate for my primary uses, which is light gaming and streaming video content. The screen size is perfect for my needs, not too big (which would add to bulk and weight), so portability and "tote-ability" isn't reduced. Colors are relatively sharp and clear. 4 stars only because it doesn't have a fingerprint scanner and a magnetic storage slot for the stylus pen that comes with it. On a side note, the official folio/case needs to be less expensive. Otherwise, I'm really enjoying this tablet.

I purchased the higher tier, which includes the keyboard and pen. Lenovo keyboards are known for their high quality. The pen works perfectly. The combination is an excellent productivity arrangement. The tablet is quick, and applications operate well. The screen is bright, and watching films is a pleasurable experience when paired with the excellent quad speakers.I wish the covers were magnetic, as they are on some other Lenovo products, and that the trackpad was bigger.Recommended.

Heavily disappointed.

I should start with saying that this is a fairly good tablet, especially for the price, if all you mean to do with it is watch videos, play games, etc. However, given this tablet is 'compatible' with the precision pen 2, and I bought it to draw and take handwritten notes, It has been a terrible disappointment. My major issues revolve around 3 things: Lack of effective palm rejection, lack of pen accuracy, and issues replacing the default home launcher. The palm rejection on this device is lacking, I've had constant issues with my palm drawing lines and moving the canvas when using the pen, seemingly because of how minimal the detection height of the pen is.The pen was also inaccurate, making linework nearly impossible to do. It also jitters far more than is ... MoreI should start with saying that this is a fairly good tablet, especially for the price, if all you mean to do with it is watch videos, play games, etc. It also jitters far more than is acceptable. I felt like I was using a cheap stylus pen on a standard touch screen, not a precision pen system. The preinstalled Lenovo home launcher is difficult to replace, an issue i've not had on any other android device I've ever owned. I'll frequently get a taskbar showing up when it should be disabled, and sometimes it'll even switch back to the default launcher without me changing any settings. it's annoying, as I have a launcher I prefer to use and have spent money to get.Worse was the lack of response from Lenovo when I put a ticket in on the issues I was having. I've still not heard back, and I'm returning the unit now so I can still get my money back.Tldr: As a pen tablet, it's very disappointing, and has a bunch of issues. As a non-pen tablet, it's good.

Horrible lag, pixel density, and battery life
19 July 2023

I paid about 211$ for this 64gig p11 gen 2 with pen included.I must say i'm probably going to be returning it, even at basically $100 off and a free pen I don't see how I could even use it in its current state. It suffers from terrible stutter and lag at almost every moment in use. scrolling through Twitter/web pages/even the built-in menus feel like an absolute chore to navigate. changing from 60hz or 120hz doesn't stop the stuttering and lag although it does stop the screen from looking like a smeared smudged mess like it does in 60hz mode. It also suffers from horrible pixel density, 1200p should be limited to 10-in screens or smaller the pixel density of this makes everything look blurry with jagged hard edges. It really is a shame because at this price range the screen has fantastic colors compared to the s6 light which looks awful but at least it runs smooth... The speakers are also pretty terrible they sound very hollow and empty. Also Keep in mind they're closing in on a year of delaying Android 13 update they promisedI can see this device becoming even laggier in one year I would have to get a very big discount on top of my $211 price to want to keep this device. If you gave to go Lenovo don't get anything less than the pro gen 2...

My new Tab P11 (Gen 2)
10 July 2023

Hey Now, I bought this to replace an older Samsung Galaxy tablet that I had for several years which had a cracked screen and I lost on a Delta flight.I use it for reading, surfing the web, videos from airline streeaming whilst on a plane, and checking stocks during the day. It is a bit longer, so it has a bigger screen which is nice. It is also a bit heavier which I was not expecting. The video is pretty good, almost as good as the Samsung, almost. It is wicked fast! I like the swiping navigation and I also like the Productivity Mode - I have been using that mode a lot, very cool to have multiple windows open - like reading stuff and having stocks updating on the side. Audio is pretty good, I usually have headphones on when listening to You Tube or movies. It does not have compass/gyro sensors so cannot use ISS Locator and some other photo ephemeris apps on it. I would recommend this Tablet.

Okay - Beware:Lenovo will never return your money.

I purchased the Tab P11 (Gen 2) - Storm Grey in November 2022 to use to take notes during medical school. I did a ton of research, and it seemed like a good, well-priced option. I even purchased the Precision Pen 2 to optimize performance.Together they worked pretty well, but they weren't responsive enough for me to take handwritten notes. I did enjoy the tab for browsing the internet and found it super usable for less processing-heavy functions! Unfortunately, it didn't meet the primary reason I purchased it, so I had to return the pen and the tab.And here.... here my friends is where the problems began. I have contacted their returns team at least 5 times on this, and it still has not been processed.I have loved Lenovo products for years, and honestly think for the price point this is a pretty good tablet. But just be aware that if you do need to return an item you likely won't get your money back. I would purchase from a secondary seller to protect yourself.

I use the Tab P11 for reviewing email, web browsing, some standalone apps, and light media consumption like Netflix, Tablo, and Amazon Prime video. This tablet works great for most of these tasks. Web browsing is quick and with delay. I have not experienced any issues streaming content from various sources and the display is very bright and clear. However there are some apps that work that work perfectly on my Android phone that don't work properly on this tablet. One app is the Wyze app that I use all the time to monitor cameras and other IOT devices. This app is not in the play store from Lenovo, but I side loaded it and found that it does work OK in portrait mode but not in landscape.
