I absolutely love this laptop. Although it's a bit heavier than my previous one, it's still remarkably light compared to others. It performs beautifully with quality sound, stunning graphics, and excellent responsiveness. The keyboard is also a joy to use. Overall, it's a fantastic device that exceeds my expectations.

I'm so glad I got this laptop as an upgrade from my older HP. It couldn't have been designed better for me. I travel lots and do lots of outdoor sporting and adventuring when I'm travelling, so it's durable and tested structure and design makes it reliable and resilient when I need it to be. It's AMD cpu, gpu, and the ssd run as fast and smooth (maybe more) as my desktop at home! I do lots of video and photo editing on the go as well as some music production, and this machine keeps up great when I'm working away from home. I have Windows 10 installed alongside Ubuntu Studio running Gnome and both OS's are running fantastically right out of the box (or right after a smooth install in the case of Linux :P ) The 14" screen is small enough that I can just throw it into ... MoreI'm so glad I got this laptop as an upgrade from my older HP. I bought this laptop for school, and specifically for it's AMD processor and their performance with VMs. It boots quickly, runs quiet, and runs everything (Office, VMware, Visio) perfectly. It's small, thin and lightweight, too!I was also delightfully surprised by it's gaming performance, despite not having a discreet GPU. Certainly not going to play the latest AAA games at high settings, but I can play a round of DOTA or Titanfall 2 flawlessly. It does get a bit hot under heavy load, understandable, so make sure it's on a flat, clean service if gaming/power using. Also the light-up keyboard was a bit disappointing in it's presentation. Got this laptop to replace a worn out HP Pavilion 15. Had it for a little under a month so far. I must say that I'm very satisfied with my purchase. The durability is excellent and the build quality just feels so nice. Getting it with 16 gigs of memory and 512gb of SSD storage was also a good call. You definitely need the space with all these modern files. It boots and runs like a dream so far, this is a real proper Thinkpad. If you have the cash, it's well worth the investment. Just a really great tactile and ergonomic design, and it's spill-resistant as well! While I didn't get this laptop with gaming in mind, I do appreciate that the 20W0003KUS model has Intel's new Iris Xe integrated graphics which can run a lot of games at 60 fps and full HD. I also find that it streams videos in excellent quality and the 300 nits of brightness really allows the images to stand out vibrantly. Some concerns. I find the integrated webcam quality to be sorely lacking. You will see a lot of grain and the color ain't great. I know that a lot of people use external webcams anyway but for a business laptop at this price point it's pretty disappointing. While I don't mind the placement of the fingerprint scanner like others do, I do find it to be rather finicky and it only reads my print about a third of the time. Thirdly, the speakers are really underwhelming, and I do strongly recommend picking up a good pair of them along with a webcam if you intend to use those features often. Now these issues don't necessarily have to do with the laptop itself, but I'll mention them anyway. I'm a bit annoyed with how Lenovo's pricing scheme seems to work. The sticker price of 3,209.00 CAD is way beyond what this laptop is worth, yet Lenovo always appears to be running *some* kind of sale on them. When I bought it in April, it was on sale for $1,599.99, which I feel is a great deal, with the "THINKSHOWER" coupon, unlike the "THINKAPR" coupon applied to all the other T14 Gen 2's. I don't know if this was an error on Lenovo's site at the time, but at the time of this interview it's retailing for $2,246.30 with the same "THINKMAY" coupon as the other models and I genuinely think that's pretty high for what you get, and I wouldn't have bought it at that price. Lenovo gives off the impression that it runs constant "sales" to make you feel like you're getting some amazing deal, and that style of marketing always rubbed me the wrong way. Additionally, I'm disappointed that the Gen 2's don't yet have AMD models available, but I'm sure that's soon to come so I wouldn't worry about that too much. All in all, a good quality laptop that does everything I need it to do, but make sure to get an external webcam and speakers if you need to do a lot of video calls or play music and movies, and make sure to get it for the right price. I don't think I'd buy this at >2000 CAD.

This laptop is a little workhorse. I'm consistently impressed with Lenovo's build quality, and when you combine that with great bang-for-buck components (AMD Ryzen processor lineup, hey!) it only gets better.Screen -- I ordered this laptop with a customised screen. After reading reviews online, the 500-nit Privacy Guard screen sounded to be dimmer overall than the 400-nit anti-glare screen. These are in contrast (no pun intended) to the default 250-nit screen (which is great for indoor use, but not so much for direct sunlight viewing.) Having received this with 400-nit display, I compared it to a T495 here and wow, yes, it's much easier to use in sunlight. Indoors, the brightness is easily turned down.Processor/memory/storage -- This computer feels snappy & responsive, because it is. The Ryzen processor lineup is fast, and when coupled with plenty of memory (16GB+) it takes a lot to bog this down. Rounding out the hardware with high-volume SSD storage (500GB+) and integrated WiFi 6 + Bluetooth 5 (and optional LTE), this computer makes an excellent mobile workstation.Connectors -- earlier iterations in the ThinkPad series had plastic power connectors, which were prone to break over time. (I replaced the internal power board on an E-series earlier this week.) I'm a big fan of the switch to USB-C for power delivery, and there's a 2nd USB-C port "hidden" inside the docking port. With 3x USB-3 ports, an HDMI output, and miniSD slot, this has more than enough to make the connections I need.Webcam, mic, speakers -- the camera is good; the video stream is not grainy or blocky, and works excellently for video calls (hello WFH!) The mic clearly picks up voice/audio from me sitting in front of/near the laptop.Price -- especially if purchased at a discount (as Lenovo frequently offers 40+% discount off listed web price), these laptops are competitive with similar offerings from e.g. HP, Dell, ASUS, etc.

My new X1C7 is really lightweight and very capable. I love the abundance of ports in such a thin laptop. In particular, the Thunderbolt3 interface allows me to use a single cable to get power from my daisy chained displays. I use a wireless keyboard and mouse, so my desktop is clutter free. I have set my X1 up as a dual boot system Ubuntu and Windows and use the machine for software development. I tend to keep my laptops for a long time, so while pricey I think over time of ownership its worth it. What makes it less than perfect Soldered RAM cannot be upgraded I know it has always been the case, but why does the Thinkpad continue to flip the Ctrl and Fn key, as a software developer this is very annoying. The experience of using this laptop has been very pleasant. It has a nice construction with higher quality material compared to the T line. The weight is impressive considering the amount of power and practical utilities. It came with plenty of power, but one could set the power output with the battery setting to modulate the overall speed of the machine. I am still getting used to the keyboard however, coming from an old T450s they are still perhaps the best in its class but less travel distance due to its size. The SSD that came with the machine is quite good, taking each time about 34 seconds to turn on and off. I use it primarily for webbrowsing, writing, and reading. Great machine overall, highly recommend.

I recently bought the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 7 14 laptop and I really love it. I had wanted to get a laptop for college, and I found that it has all the needed ports unlike other laptop brands, it is battery efficient, and its super light. I believe once classes are physical again, it will be quick and easy to carry around campus. Also, one of the perks to having this kind of Windows laptop is that it can handle a lot of nice programs such as Adobe, Microsoft Azure Dev Tools, etc.. My favorite part of this laptop is the little sliding camera blocker aka the Think shutter. If you dont want to be recorded or arent sure if you are being unwillingly recorded, you can physically slide a mini screen and that adds a little extra privacy. Its a neat feature and there is no more of that need to washi tape or tape the camera off. Another cool feature is that the keyboard lights up by pressing the FN and spacebar, which is nice during the later hours. Although I havent used it much. The only piece of constructive criticism that I could think of is making is expanding the color palate of the design. I would love to see a pink version of this. Overall, using this laptop had been an enjoyable experience. Although the laptop is pretty pricey, you definitely get what you pay for. I think its a good investment and I will be using this for a long while.

Loving my new laptop

I bought this laptop in a big rush. I needed it in time for the beginning of my class. I bought it purely based on specs, and availability. I didn't even think too much about the aesthetics because I wanted to get something fast and be able to take advantage of the black Friday sale that was going on. In the end I was skeptical once I did have a moment to reflect and go back to check that there would have been some nice to have features such as the borderless screen, and the nicer looking keyboard such as the one on the X1 carbon. but I gave it a chance anyway. I was not disappointed. now that I have had about a month with the laptop I am very pleased with it. the border around the screen that I thought would be a big eye sore for me is not even noticeable. ... MoreI bought this laptop in a big rush. I was not disappointed. now that I have had about a month with the laptop I am very pleased with it. the border around the screen that I thought would be a big eye sore for me is not even noticeable. Specially since I went with the upgraded display that has 500 nits brightness and touchscreen feature too which is nice (I don't really use it that much but is nice to have). I am also very pleased with the over all feel and quality of the laptop. It feels very premium. I went with the storm grey color. which after looking at pictures online of some other "grey" color laptops had me questioning my decision as I had a very hard time finding online images of "storm grey" for the model I ordered. But once I again I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the package to see a very dark like graphite color. hard for me to describe in words but very close in color to a gunmetal grey car I had. The laptop is made of metal on the top cover. the inside, if it is metal, has a very pleasing to the touch coating over it that gives a bit of a softer touch. so aesthetically I am very pleased with the laptop. I am also very pleased with the performance. It came with Windows 10 but shortly after going through the initial setup I was prompted with the option to upgrade to Windows 11, which I did. I know there are some issues with Windows 11, but overall I haven't run into any issues that have affected my productivity or the overall performance. The laptop has been able to handle everything I have thrown at it so far. very happy with this laptop.

I wanted a decent laptop at an affordable price and that's exactly what I've found with the ThinkPad T14 (Intel). This laptop is relatively light yet feels very study. Nothing about it feels cheap at all. The keyboard has just the right amount of 'feel' to it that I feel like I'm using a business laptop at my company.I use this computer for common everyday tasks such as web browsing, online learning, word processing etc. It boots up quickly, I'd say in 15 seconds or less from being powered off to fully launched. I can have multiple tabs and programs open and this laptop never feels laggy. My kids (who have not wanted to use previous laptops due to lag) are able to play their Roblox games on here without any complaints. The display is bright and crisp, the sound is a bit tinny but otherwise good and loud enough to hear what I need to in a noisy room.Battery life has so far been excellent. I start my course at 9am with 100% charge and by 4pm I'm still over 60%. I'm sure this thing has a fan but it's so quiet I'm not certain I've ever heard it.Lenovo makes quality products (we also use older models at my work) but this laptop has exceeded my expectations and I would buy it again.
