Generally I love the small compact design of this laptop. I bought this one to be a backup cause I had an ASUS I bought 1 year ago that had multiple faults to the point where I didn't trust it anymore. This Thinkpad, while the design is standard, feels more robust and it's at a price point that I don't feel bad for abusing it. The integrated graphics are powerful enough for video encodes. Battery life is phenomenal on low power mode. I'm running Fedora Linux and I boot windows 2go off an external nvme through the usb port. Would probably get another easily if I needed to. We'll see how it holds up over time.

I recently got my hands on the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 AMD with the 14-inch screen, and I'm pretty impressed with what it brings to the table. The design is all about functionality, with that classic ThinkPad vibe - a sturdy plastic build in Storm Gray that's been MIL-STD-810H certified, so it's built to last. The keyboard is a joy to type on, though I wish there was a bit more room with the addition of the Copilot key. Performance-wise, the AMD Ryzen processor handles my daily tasks smoothly, though it's not a powerhouse for intensive computing. The battery life has been a pleasant surprise, easily getting me through a day of work without needing a charge. The screen isn't the most vibrant, but it's bright enough for office work, and the matte finish helps with ... MoreI recently got my hands on the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 AMD with the 14-inch screen, and I'm pretty impressed with what it brings to the table. Connectivity is where this laptop shines for me; it's got all the ports I need, including Thunderbolt 4 and Ethernet, which is a godsend when Wi-Fi isn't reliable. The webcam is functional for video calls, though I wish for better color accuracy, and the speakers are just okay for basic audio needs. Overall, the ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 is a dependable companion for business professionals who prioritize durability, battery life, and repairability over cutting-edge tech or aesthetics. It's not the sexiest laptop out there, but it gets the job done where it matters.

It's a shame. I liked this laptop, esp. the build and feel of it. I ordered a custom version with a 1TB ssd, 2x8 GB ram, and the new Qualcomm 7 wifi card.Unfortunately, the wifi card was bad or something. I reset the laptop multiple times and it couldn't go over 100 kbps download speed. The laptop is practically unusable in this state. I couldn't even download different programs to use the laptop in an offline manner. I used the ethernet to debug stuff but I think it's just an issue with the qualcomm chip.I'll probably order the same T14 laptop again with different chipsets to avoid the issue. Be wary of the wifi card; qualcomm may have some QA problems

Laptop has much shorter frame than older T models which makes it uncomfortable for typing. The screen is still 14 inches, but Lenovo fails to clearly state that the frame is now an inch shorter. The laptop is made of cheap plastic instead of metal. I called customer service and the call got interrupted by automated Lenovo message. No one bothered calling me back. It's really sad that a company that used to make fine products for business have sunken so low. I've had multiple ThinkPads going back to IBM days and for the first time in decades I am looking elsewhere for a new laptop.
I recently purchased the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 AMD in Eclipse Black, and it's been an excellent choice for both work and daily tasks. The build quality is robust, true to the ThinkPad reputation, and the AMD processor ensures smooth performance even with demanding applications. The keyboard is incredibly comfortable, making long hours of work a breeze. Battery life is solid, and the display is sharp and clear. Overall, it’s a reliable and efficient laptop that perfectly meets my needs. Highly recommended!
This 14" smart Thinkpad copes well with all types of office work. Small enough to easily carry round, yet the screen is a good size when browsing the net or using Office. It is fitted with Intel Core Ultra 7, and with its additional memory of 32GB, 1 terabyte SSD hard-drive, the computer speedily zips along. One of my favourite features is that it has touchscreen, a 'must' for me, as it adds flexibility. It has a quality build, strong and sturdy, yet feels light as air. The only negative comment I have is that, as a home user, I wish that Lenovo offered other colourways along with black. This is my third Lenovo laptop, and I recommend.
This is not a state-of-the-art laptop; in fact, it is superficially nearly identical to my Lenovo work laptop from 2017. That's good thing, not a criticism. This is one of the few laptops still available with non-soldered DRAM and SSD that can be replaced or upgraded by the user. The display is fine; the version I bought is touch-enabled - not something I use a lot, but nice in certain uses. The keyboard has a pretty good feel to it; the track-pad is fine, although it takes a minute to get used to having the right/left-click buttons above the track-pad, rather than below it. WiFi is only 6E; I would have liked to have WiFi 7, but that was not an option. This is not a gaming PC, but performance is great for my uses. Overall, quite happy with my purchase.
The Lenovo Thinkpad T14 2024 is a very robust addition to the lineup. The design and build quality is just as expected. It maintains the classic, minimalist ThinkPad design, with a sturdy chassis built to withstand not only daily wear and tear, but also I really love the great quality combined with low weight giving me lots of security when cruising through the airport and running around. The black finish, although very attractive to fingerprints, has a simple but elegant look as always. Don’t forget about the red TrackPoint, which makes it instantly recognizable catching the eyes of everyone. The keyboard, these keyboards are one of the things that always make me come back to a Thinkpad. Lenovo going back to what made machines good in the old days, giving users the right and ease to repair really makes this worth an investment for a 14in laptop for the decades to pass. Strong performance and great battery life is also nice for those coffee shop visits when I’m tired of working from home. Upgradability is fantastic, but expensive from factory. Lenovo really knew what they were doing with this lineup, the nostalgia and ifixit approved in 2024 really made me come back to the classics.
I've been using this machine for almost a month now. It's not heavy use - writing, research, watching videos and live streaming - but this is my daily driver, I'm working on it 8-10 hours a day, seven days a week.I also have a T14 gen 3 and didn't expect major changes - I got more than expected, actually. The weak spot to me of the gen 3 was the heat and battery life and this machine seems much better on both scores. And the return of user-repairable components brings the utility of this machine back to the level of the T470 in my cupboard, which is great. For me, the main appeal of Thinkpads is the best keyboard in the business, sturdy construction and great support when needed - a big part of the appeal is that I've never needed support with any frequency. So ... MoreI've been using this machine for almost a month now. Kudos!
I have been considering an update to my X1 Yoga gen 4 given the unavoidable trend in large datasets and on-device AI tools. I decided to go ahead and buy the T14s g5 in lieu of the imminent snapdragon Gen 6. The wight and footprint are X1 comparable, the build quality I expect had always been delivered in my now 5th ThinkPad, so no fear in making this leap without a trial run. The biggest “hope” I have to realize the extra horsepower.Update: after a short wait I received my laptop my build well in advance of the original ETA. Build quality is tight, a bit thicker than my Yoga gen 4, but quite a bit shorter. So footprint is as small as I would personally want.I ordered with 64GB of ram, but can’t seem to find how to run at the fastest speed as the Bios doesn’t ... MoreI have been considering an update to my X1 Yoga gen 4 given the unavoidable trend in large datasets and on-device AI tools. Build quality is tight, a bit thicker than my Yoga gen 4, but quite a bit shorter. So footprint is as small as I would personally want.I ordered with 64GB of ram, but can’t seem to find how to run at the fastest speed as the Bios doesn’t offer the option. I also purchased with the stock 512GB SSD and use this as external storage. I loaded a mirror image on a faster 2Tb Samsung 990ssd and found a considerable improvement in running Visual Basic, MS project and MS office suite. The horsepower is tangible!Looking forward to running in-app AI tools and reverting with my findings. I can see the benefits of having more horsepower for MS products, and really do like the Copilot key and I have adapted quickly to the relocated left control key. After a few weeks, I can’t tell if the new SSD has sacrificed some battery life. As configured and running the screen at 50-75% brightness yields well over 6 hours of life, as much as 8 to 9 hours depending on daily load.I am pairing it with the mobile Lenovo thinkvision touch monitor and able to find as much tablet functionality as I need. So I honestly can’t say I miss the X1 Yoga form factor.Overall very happy. While it doesn’t get overly warm, when loading the processor the fan kicks in and you notice it. This, I would say, is the only ~meh.. otherwise, another outstanding ThinkPad worth consideration as a workhorse.
