A sleek rugged machine designed for work on the go
26 March 2023

The laptop is fast, responsive and has a good battery life of about 1 full day of usage. Considering it’s a touch screen, the battery life is very reasonable. I’ve been using it primarily for work related tasks and the 16 GB memory is more than enough for the same. USB-C charging is very convenient and it can be charged using a mobile phone charger as well (albeit slowly). The bundled 65W charger juices it from 10% to 90% in an hour and half. As with all ThinkPads it’s breeze to type on this keyboard. Only downside is that the laptop gets smudgy due to finger prints (again nothing that a wipe down with a soft cloth won’t solve). Overall, I’m satisfied with my purchase.

This is a great machine! Purchased in July 2022.11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1135G7 @ 2.40GHz16 GB RAM512 GB SSDThe battery life is great and it is much slimmer than my older T470. This isn't the most recent generation of Intel processor, but it does the trick. Plus side is that many of the bugs that come with new processors have been worked out. It is quick and very reliable. Fast startup. Keyboard is the classic ThinkPad experience; which I love! The fan is fairly quiet and isn't worse than I expected. Of course, the fan turns on periodically depending on what you're doing with the device, but that's normal. I am very impressed with the size and weight of this machine! So portable. This is so nice to use, it's making me want to be more productive with my work!

I bought three Thinkpads before 2020 and they are still running strong. I wanted a recent laptop and I chose the T14s Gen 2 Intel i7-1185G7 which is perfect for my needs. I run Linux Mint 21.1 and it works well out of the box. The touchpad is excellent and is great for smooth scrolling. I've had the T14s for a month and it has been very stable. For the last 17 days I just close the lid to suspend at night without rebooting, even though I install applications daily. The thermals are well tuned in my humble opinion. The attached photos show a stress test loading the machine at 100% utilization and after a few minutes, all the CPUs run at 2800 MHz with a 65 degrees temperature. This performance is maintained without throttling. For regular office work, I rarely hear ... MoreI bought three Thinkpads before 2020 and they are still running strong. The ThinkPad I bought is great, I love the metal design, it looks sleek and professional. The keyboard is well laid out and easy to use. The number of ports is perfect for what I need, and in the right places to so I did not have to re arrange my desk for a new setup when switching from my old (non Lenovo) laptop. The screen is clear and bright, I use this along with an external monitor and the video card has no problem powering the QLED display and build in laptop screen at the same time. I have not used the laptop outside but where I work if fairly bight and I have no complaints so far.The only complaint I have so far is not about the computer but Lenovo has so many models. It's a double edged sword really, alot of choice is good but can make finding something more specific harder. When a was shopping for a laptop alot of the larger manufacturers had this same problem so this definatly not a Lenovo problem. One great thing is the piece ofind I get by having Lenovo bundle the cost of a 3 year warranty in with the laptop. I noticed this is not on all models but getting a computer with a 3 year warenty out of the box is great and one more thing I don't have to search for or pay extra for.

Lenovo Post Sales

Better quality process with respect to OS and management of add on products is required. Purchase of MS O365 license was not found, script was provided to activate however it crashed the WIN 11 OS. 7 days lost waiting for a repacement laptop. 2nd laptop still had issue with not able to open control panel, MS store, no O365 license. Premier support then created Win10 USB and laptop had to be downgarded to WIN 10. Post sales insisted license was in Vantage but it was not. It was not seen ni MS account either, Waited another 3 days to get MS O365 product key that then was manually applied.

I found setting up and synching my accounts etc was very easy. I was able to continue the work I needed with minimal disruptions.Microsoft office free trial was easy to use.One issue I had is using it in another city. I had connected the WIFI and entered the password but I kept getting disconnected. this was frustrating. Not sure how I nee to correct the issue.Overall, I am very happy with the Lenovo ThinkPad. Would I recommend it to others, I do not recommend any technology to anyone since everyone has their own specifications and needs. If I was asked about it, I would let them know how happy I am with it and the ease of set up, synching etc.

Loving my new laptop
3 January 2022

I bought this laptop in a big rush. I needed it in time for the beginning of my class. I bought it purely based on specs, and availability. I didn't even think too much about the aesthetics because I wanted to get something fast and be able to take advantage of the black Friday sale that was going on. In the end I was skeptical once I did have a moment to reflect and go back to check that there would have been some nice to have features such as the borderless screen, and the nicer looking keyboard such as the one on the X1 carbon. but I gave it a chance anyway. I was not disappointed. now that I have had about a month with the laptop I am very pleased with it. the border around the screen that I thought would be a big eye sore for me is not even noticeable. ... MoreI bought this laptop in a big rush. I was not disappointed. now that I have had about a month with the laptop I am very pleased with it. the border around the screen that I thought would be a big eye sore for me is not even noticeable. Specially since I went with the upgraded display that has 500 nits brightness and touchscreen feature too which is nice (I don't really use it that much but is nice to have). I am also very pleased with the over all feel and quality of the laptop. It feels very premium. I went with the storm grey color. which after looking at pictures online of some other "grey" color laptops had me questioning my decision as I had a very hard time finding online images of "storm grey" for the model I ordered. But once I again I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the package to see a very dark like graphite color. hard for me to describe in words but very close in color to a gunmetal grey car I had. The laptop is made of metal on the top cover. the inside, if it is metal, has a very pleasing to the touch coating over it that gives a bit of a softer touch. so aesthetically I am very pleased with the laptop. I am also very pleased with the performance. It came with Windows 10 but shortly after going through the initial setup I was prompted with the option to upgrade to Windows 11, which I did. I know there are some issues with Windows 11, but overall I haven't run into any issues that have affected my productivity or the overall performance. The laptop has been able to handle everything I have thrown at it so far. very happy with this laptop.

After years of living without a laptop, I decided it was time again. Although I'm not a RoadWarrior, I like high quality tools which will be dependable and serve me a long time. The ThinkPad rose to the top in my research, and it hasn't disappointed. Getting one was the challenge, but after finally speaking to a true professional in the sales department, I learned that I could get EXACTY what I wanted, just with an aluminum case instead of carbon. As a bonus, I got the next generation processor! This is a SWEET laptop. I'm an amputee, so weight is a consideration and this is easy for me to carry on crutches. The screen is bright and extremely clear, the facial recognition works like a charm and the battery life exceeds my expectations. Use this for work. Great laptop, super liable, gets the job done.Initially I was having some trouble with the fan noise, it could get annoying, especially in a quiet room. As a company laptop I could not install any software to control the fan speed. After some googling, the solution was so simple! Just set the laptop power mode as reseve battery (or something similar), rather than performance. That solved the issue completely, the fan never becomes audible, and the machine is just as fast as ever!10/10

The T14 gen 2 is the perfect size and weight for me. Not too strong and heavy but not too light and fragile. The anti glare screen allows you to work outdoors and the backlit keyboard allows you to work inside with the lights off. The touch pad is so smooth and is easy to use. It was too heavy, the screen too dark and the edges a bit too sharp. Sure you could probably use it for homeplate in baseball and it would keep working but it was a bit too rugged. I returned it and when with the T14 and love it. it is much more sturdy than my old dell and hp laptops but lighter and leaner than some entry level ThinkPads. Only complaint so far is I wish the screen would get a bit brighter outdoors but it is way better than the E495 screen
