I purchased this front/rear light set and was shocked at how bright they are. The front light does an excellent job lighting up a public bike trail in the city where I live. The trail is a 3.3 mile loop that starts in a public park area but runs through about 1.5 miles of woods and dirt trails. I put the rear light in the steady blinking mode which was very bright as well. The only drawback in my mind was the almost 3 hours it took to charge them.

This is by far my favourite road bike light. I’m actually buying this as my second light. I also have a lezyne 1300 lumens, but use this one much more. Why? It’s all to do with the actual light modes you can use. What I use this for are mainly 2 things. At full blast, (1000 lumens fully on), and also on daylight flash mode, (flashing BUT also at 1000 lumens). The other higher lumen models actually DO NOT offer a high lumens daytime flash mode, so you are only really getting the high lumens when the light is only on full blast (no blinking). In fact, it’s hard to find lights that allow you to flash at FULL LUMENS. So for me, this is by far the best combo. It’s also much lighter. if Lezyne ever offers a higher lumens daytime flash, I’ll pick up one of those, but until ... MoreThis is by far my favourite road bike light. Very good light. It has a lot of modes, but remembers which one you're in when you turn off/on. Overdrive mode is great because it's simple to flick between very bright for unlit roads, and regularly bright for urban roads. Both those settings are fantastic, and compared with other lights, definitely seem to deliver the promised 1000 and 500 lumens. Flashing modes would be great for city driving too. I've given it only four stars (which might be a little harsh but fractions aren't allowed!) because of a couple of niggles. The USB cover is quite tight. Presumably this is to get the IPx7 waterproof rating, but who really needs that on a bike light? Second, and to a large extent this is a personal preference, but I just don't get the strap mount. It feels quite tough and durable, but they're never quite as easy to use especially on cold winter mornings as a fixed mount on the handlebars - ideally lights should be versatile enough to do either.

Great Front light from Lezyne. However it is not perfect. The rubber strap doesn't allow solid mounting on the handlebar. It will eventually deteriorate and could need replacing. Durability could also be improved. Light power button tends to wear quicker than the battery.
Having previously avoided riding at night due to worrying about potholes, this has been a revelation. Impressive illumination means I am enjoying the experience now. The light feels well made and it is easy to use. Battery warning is also a good feature, so for example the warning light changes when you get to 50%. Slight reservation about battery life. 1000 lumens doesn't last too long so I have settled on 200 lumens or 500 if it seems particularly dark. Only other reservation is about how durable the rubber mounting band will be. It is very tight so fixes the light very firmly, but I worry every time I remove the light because I have to stretch it a fair bit. It would be better if the light could be unclipped from the handlebar mount.
These lights are so so bright and really make fellow road users notice you. Most drivers seem to give you a little more space than before and oncoming traffic can se you clearly. We found that helmet mounted rear works best for visibility. Small problem with one of the two we purchased which we are sure Tredegar will sort out.
On full power this throws an amazing amount of light, however it does burn through the battery. I find it acceptable as my rides aren’t that long and the way the cycle paths are lit means I’d rather have it that way than turn it down. The app connectivity and pairing to the rear work well, however I almost never use it. Bit of a gimmick but it functions as advertised. My one gripe is (and it’s my fault for not checking) that there isn’t a mount or bracket, just the strap. Because I cycle to work I’m constantly removing the whole thing, rather than getting it set up at a decent angle and just removing the light from a mount.I don’t think it’s the best a light can be… but it’s a solid performance.
One ride with this light. I gave my wife my LezyneMini drive 400, which I absolutely loved that light. I rode behind her on the way back on our ride and it got completely dark during our return. With both our lights on and from riding 30' back behind her my light made it look like her light wasn't even on, this with both lights on the highest setting. This light puts out a great pattern and very bright on the highest beam. I like the other settings also. The light housing warmed up a fair amount. We were riding fast which helped the cooling however. If the strap apparatus would hold better it would be a 5, but as with my other Lezyne light, with any bumps or vibration the light will rotate out of alignment. I'll be rigging something up to hold it in position better, ... MoreOne ride with this light. I gave my wife my LezyneMini drive 400, which I absolutely loved that light. I recommend it for high speed night rides!
I got this originally to go on my road bike, but when it arrived it was much larger and heavier than expected. I mounted it using the strong straps to my bars which was not an issue, but I wanted to use it under my Garmin mount so it was all neat.My out front mount is attached by two small screws directly into my carbon bars so, I chickened out and decided to put it on my new gravel bike instead. I’ve got it set up as per my road bike but the out front mount is connected directly to the faceplate of the stem so no worries there! The light is very bright, you can see me coming for miles away! I use it on daylight flash ant this lasts hours!Several settings on the light allow for full beam, down to lower settings and less bright flash modes...To be honest I ... MoreI got this originally to go on my road bike, but when it arrived it was much larger and heavier than expected. Bought this model a few days ago at my local branch. Unfortunately had to return it without being able to use it on the bike. I had first charged it for the required time. When the flashing green light on top of the unit turned solid green it indicated a full charge and being ready to use. It was looking good when I turned it on and began cycling through the different brightness and flashing settings. This didn't last as in under two minutes the unit just went dead. I did plug in usb for charging 2 more times until the flashing green light on top turned solid . Both times I held the button for two seconds the light came on for a second then off and nothing. The unit would not do anything no matter how many times the button was pressed or how long you held it down ... MoreBought this model a few days ago at my local branch. I'll try another brand as it's put me off and it's a fair bit of money for something unreliable when it comes to road safety!

Lezyne Lite Drive 1000XL Front Light
The Lezyne Lite Drive 1000XL bicycle light has a brightness of 1000 lumens by means of 2 powerful and efficient LEDs. The headlight is equipped with a MOR (Maximum Optical Reflection) lens, which ensures that the light beam is evenly distributed. Because you don't have a centred beam, other road users will be less disturbed by your beam. Furthermore, the MOR lens ensures improved visibility from the sides. Lezyne produced its Lite Drive 1000XL headlight in CNC milled aluminium. This makes the lamp compact, strong, durable and the cooling fins in the aluminum housing are able to properly dissipate its heat. The Lite Drive 1000XL has 8 different settings, including 4 continuous and 4 flashing modes. The most remarkable is the unique 1000 lumens strong 'daytime flash', which ensures good visibility during the day. Thanks to the different modes, you can adjust your brightness to your surroundings. When switched on, the memory function activates the last mode you used before turning it off. So you'll never have to search for your favourite mode again. Charging the Lezyne Lite Drive 1000XL is easy with the included micro-USB cable. The headlight comes with a versatile strap, making it easy to attach to virtually any frame or handlebar.
