I purchased this monitor from PB Christchurch Hornby branch. Before the purchase, I did lots research and concluded this is the monitor that will not just fit all purpose but will do all things well. Most monitor on the market is either for gamers which provides high refresh rates, low response time but lacks color accuracy and low color coverage, or a profession monitor that provides good accurate and wide colors but lacks on refresh rate and low on response time. However, this monitor uses LG's high end Nano IPS panel that covers the color at 98% of DCI-P3 and produces accurate colors that is factory calibrated with delta E < 2, which is a photographer and content creator level of accuracy. This monitor also has high refresh rates at 144Hz and low response time ... MoreI purchased this monitor from PB Christchurch Hornby branch. This monitor also has high refresh rates at 144Hz and low response time at 1ms, which covers the gamers as well as multimedia requirements. Which covers the both world of needs. And this monitor also took care of ease of use requirement, which this monitor has a Thunderbolts 3 connection that provides charging power at 90watts which I connects it with my Apple Macbook Pro 16" M1 Max with just one cable, it provides charging power as well as display at full resolutions 3840x1600 144Hz. My windows gaming laptop is connected to this monitor through Displayport version 1.4 cable also at full resolution and 144Hz.The only down side of this monitor is the HDMI ports that is version 2.0, so you will only be able to achieve the full resolution at 75Hz. However, with the USB-C port that support Alternative-Displayport becoming more and more common these days, the Thunderbolt 3.0 is now one of the most popular display connection method. So the HDMI 2.0 does not bothers me. If your devices has the newer HDMI 2.1, you can also simply buy a cable that convert HDMI 2.1 to Displayport 1.4 and uses the displayport port on the monitor to provides full resolution at 144Hz.After months of usage, I am still more than happy with this monitor. The color really shines on this monitor which surprises me about how much details I have been missing in the past as well as the smoothness from the 144Hz and 1ms response time. There's a newer model released from LG which is the larger 39" version (LG 40WP95C-W 40" 5K2k ), sadly due to the cable connector / port technology limitation at the moment, the data bandwidth is not enough to allow the newer model to provides high refresh rate due to its higher resolutions at 5120x2160. Which is again unable to cover the requirement of both side of the world. So for those who really want a monitor that is big, sharp, covers wide color range and provides color accuracy as well as high refresh rate and fast response time, this is the monitor that you really should take a good look at!

I've had this monitor for over a week now and purchased it off a YouTube review I watched. I connected this screen to my MacBook Air and it's doing a phenomenal job of being the main display. The 5K slightly curved screen is great for the eyes, and I no longer need two expensive 5K screens. This one screen is all you need, with the bonus of no annoying gaps. As a UX and graphic designer, I can have my entire work flow open on one screen, including chats, emails, wireframes, programs and tool panels. So far the only con I can see, is with such a big screen set at 5K, I believe the text size may be too small for some people. However, you can adjust the resolution to be bigger (ie 4K), but the quality will downgrade a touch as you make the resolution lower. However, you can adjust the resolution to be bigger (ie 4K), but the quality will downgrade a touch as you make the resolution lower. The screen itself powers your MacBook, so you don't need the charge cord which I find to be a huge bonus since the MacBooks only have 2 Thunderbolt ports, and the monitor also has its own incredible speaker system in it. For those who buy a separate speaker for good sound during calls or for basic music, you won't need to as this is superb. If you're a bass lover, you'd still want to get yourself a bar or sub, however I find the sound quality is phenomenal for a monitor. Multiple thunderbolt hubs means you can daisy chain more thunderbolt screens if you need more space. I'd recommend this for designers, video editors, 3d modelling, etc. My Mac Studio is arriving soon, and will just plug it in to that. The price was also a huge factor – I was looking at upwards of $2000+ per 27"/30" 5K screen (I only need two), but instead I was able to pay far less for just one stunning 5K screen. You won't regret it. One of my favourite features is the stand/base that comes with this monitor. It's a slimline curved piece, silver and subtle. Some monitors come with huge, clunky bases, leaving no room on your desk, but the scythe-like curve of this one leaves plenty of room for things you may still require to sit on your desk. Lastly, I am currently sitting only half a metre from the screen, and my desk is 1202W x 602D – meaning you don't need a massive desk just for this one screen.

Once I drag it back to Seattle and use it in a more normal environment, I expect it to be perfectly fine, and a nice improvement over the 43 Dell P4317Q that I've been using for years. The Dell is larger, but has terrible color accuracy. I suspect that all of the 40 5120x2160 monitors on the market have basically the same issue (as they're probably all using the same LG panel), and all of the *other* features of this one pretty much make it the one to beat.

Amazing 49" ultrawide monitor!
10 January 2023

This monitor is my first ultrawide monitor, replacing 2 standard monitors. I absolutely love everything about it. After the initial shock of it's size, once I got it on my desk and plugged into my laptop by USB C, it was so easy to set up. I only needed to adjust my resolution. Both my work laptop and personal laptop are not fancy by any means and they both are able to output a full 5120 x 1440. I also no longer need to use my work-supplied laptop dock as the monitor will charge my laptop and also allowed me to plug in my keyboard and mouse to the monitor. I also appreciate using this monitor with Windows 11 as it's easy to drag a window to the top of the screen and have it take up half, 1/3, 1/4 and a couple other configurations. The speakers for the monitor are also very impressive and loud. As far as I've figured out so far though, my computer can't change the volume of the monitor itself so I set the monitors speakers to the highest volume and then my computers speakers to around 20% for a reasonable volume level for normal use.Overall, this monitor has been great for productivity at work, casual video watching, browsing with multiple tabs or programs, and also gaming. With this monitor you'll wonder how you ever survived with just 1 or 2 normal monitors side by side and you'll never go back.

Pros: Intended use was mainly work, where I have two laptops that both use USB C charging, as well as music production (Cubase). Occasional gaming, but mainly use consoles and TV for that. Curvature is nice, never had curved before but it’s very slight, but beneficial given size. No discernible distortion on anything from it and I use spreadsheets a lot - it’s ace for real estate on large spreadsheets or those with many sheets, as well as for when comparing two different spreadsheets on a cramped screen - split it top to bottom.Brightness is great, not had a problem. Have it on 50% and not changed, both nighttime sat in the dark and daylight streaming through the window so was pleased with that as it was one concern. Have it on 50% and not changed, both nighttime sat in the dark and daylight streaming through the window so was pleased with that as it was one concern. Great that I can have my two work laptops and my laptop all connected to keyboard at once, one charging via the thunderbolt/usb c connector. HDMI is max 75hz but it does make a difference, which surprised me, having previously been at 60hz on my old monitor. The usb c connection (only) does 125hz.Build quality is decent, does wobble on stand a little, like if you knock the desk when pulling your chair in, but won’t fall. Also a lot of scope to move to best position.Button under the screen in centre which makes it simple to play with and switch inputs/change to PBP, which is perfectly placed compared to some other screens I researched.Cons: As noted above, screen does wobble when nudged but not a big issue, merely something of nothing. My only other disappointment is that I ideally wanted a screen that could do 66:33 or 75:25 PBP but this only does 50:50. My main issue is that I thought it did more than 50:50 but found it hard to get confirmation anywhere. Not the end of the world, just not ideal for my usage (was hoping for Teams on 25 and main work on 75).

LG never fails to meet expectations
29 October 2022

I've used 1080p monitors since I was a kid, I can afford 4k monitors but this monitor is EXACTLY what I needed.1440p res, gaming is good - Gamers you have to do a lot of tweaking with the monitor before you actually start playing any of your games. Not all games support this reso. recommend using 21:9 aspect ratio for some games. This monitor has a built in KVM switch, so you can plug your personal computer and work computer via hdmi/DP and it'll automatically readjust all of your devices to that device. Dope, removes the need for additional docking stations and portsits 3800R curve, idk what that means, its a slight curve not a heavy one. you move your eyes alot but not your headRecommend a monitor arm mount for more freedom, the stand provided is not enough ... MoreI've used 1080p monitors since I was a kid, I can afford 4k monitors but this monitor is EXACTLY what I needed.1440p res, gaming is good - Gamers you have to do a lot of tweaking with the monitor before you actually start playing any of your games. Don't get it if you dont have a decent graphics card(basically no onboard graphics)Keep in mind when using this on a laptop(windows) itll be janky, compared to my gaming PC, my work laptop(MSI creator 15) resolution is weird but that is because it is not display port. Please keep this in mind when you factor that in. I dont care much for resolution at work just want more space on 1 screen.Even though I marked it has a 4/5 thats as a customer... this thing is EXPENSIVEEE, I got it at a discount if the discount price was the actual product price, this monitor would be 5/5 and a dominator in ultrawide 1440p monitor market.Personally 5/5, this monitor has met all the expectations I've been looking for in the past couple months of my monitor hunt

LG’s Awesome 38” UltraWide Monitor
1 November 2022

I was so happy when I purchased the brand-new LG 38” Curved UltraWide monitor with an ergonomic stand. I wanted to use it in my updated home office due to the pandemic changing my job to a permanent work from home situation. I have had purchased several LG brand widescreen monitors in the past years and have always been happy with the purchase. LG always produces high-quality products at reasonable prices and I have not had any issues with prior computer monitors.I liked the fact that this new model had an IPS display and had a great ergonomic stand which is able to move to the best area desired for viewing content while working or even for watching entertainment on it. We have a new electric adjustable desk and needed this type of display to be able to adapt for long hours of sitting or standing depending on the day. I was so impressed with the monitor that I told my remote co-workers about how great of a model it was to do the type of work we process so they could get one too if they wanted to.The great thing about this particular model is that it comes with all of the expected outlets on the back to be able to plug various devices such as laptops, desktops, tablets, or even smartphones via HDMI, DisplayPort, USB 3, and regular USB options. All of the connections worked seamlessly without any need for tech support. I have adjusted the monitor to be higher, lower, closer to me, or even further away from my space depending on a particular day and the type of task I wanted to accomplish. This has been my favorite LG monitor so far and has proven to be a high-quality product with excellent features and versatility. I will continue to recommend this monitor to my friends, and family since it such a great finished product.

Monitor to promote your productivity to the next l

I love this ultrawide 5K2K monitor from LG and could not wait to recommend it to you. Features wise, its various color grade selections, IPS panel, HDR 10 support, picture-in-picture, bonus multi-devices controller software, thunderbolt-4 (USB-C) port, and of course DisplayPort/HDMIs connections are handy to connect PC/MacBook/iPad Pro and my Surface Pro 8 via Thunderbolt/USB-C ports. With integrated thunderbolt port, signal/power/audio delivery can be simply connected with just one cable. 10W rich bass speakers, unlike other built-in speakers’ monitors are also favorited. I am a big fan of big monitors particularly from LG. Inspired by 34' UltraWide 34UC99 and 43' 43UD79 4K monitor, I told myself this was the one to go next so here I have it now :). Speaking of corns, it's refresh rate of 72hz (5ms response time) is definitely not top of the line nor its HDMI 2.0 version the latest standard for wider bandwidth (2.0 18Gbps vs 2.1 48Gbps). Lucky, none of which brothers me for my WFH and creative works on it and I'd say it's really a great investment, given you are not buying monitors regularly.

Not entirely friendly with Mac OS
2 January 2023

Received it promptly and connected it to my Mac Studio running Ventura OS 13.1.The LG has poor documentation most of which I had to download from the LG web site. The documentation is tricky to understand. I spent a considerable amount of time trying to set it up for use with the Mac. However, I was successful and the image, while not as crisp as my 27 Mac Studio display, is still good. The LG is configured as the primary display and the Studio display is to the right of it creating a single virtual display. The issue is that the LG display has its own power saving routine which is not configurable via the Mac. Thus, while they both use the Mac screen saver and the Mac shuts off the saver on both after a length of inactivity, since the LG has a slower boot up than the Mac display, when you wake the Mac with the keyboard the display configuration on the LG reverts to default. This changes the setup for screen position and pixel density. The way I found to prevent this is to wake the LG first using the control button on its underside, then the Mac a number of seconds later.Otherwise this is a very nice display and far less expensive than the larger Mac Studio equivalent. I would recommend it.

Two Screen in One Monitor
10 September 2022

I work in IT, I sit in front of a computer all day long, and traditionally I have been a 3 screen user for at least the past10 years. I've never been a big fan of the ultra-wide monitors, when I've tried them I find so much white space it becomes pointless. I've seen a great use for them in people in finance, working in huge excel spreadsheets, etc, but not the average worker. Well LG has changed my mind on this. Primarily due to the help of LG's OnScreen Control software that is included. This software does an Excellent job of allowing you to configure the screen in how it fits you best, 2 "virtual screens", no problem, 3? you got it. Now Windows 10/11 also has some of the capabilities built in and in other Microsoft software, but it doesn't do it quiet as ... MoreI work in IT, I sit in front of a computer all day long, and traditionally I have been a 3 screen user for at least the past10 years. Now Windows 10/11 also has some of the capabilities built in and in other Microsoft software, but it doesn't do it quiet as gracefully as LG's software, also LG's software will only apply to its own screen, which is exactly what I want, as I still use other monitors as well. I do generally find text to be a bit crisper on this screen than my other primary monitor, and colors are certainly richer. The only oddity I experience is that sometimes it almost seems convex, because it is sitting next to a curved monitor. Part of me wishes there was a bit of a curve to this monitor. Overall adding this monitor has been huge, I've essentially "retired" the laptop screen to almost never being used, and now just use 2 monitors, with this LG being the main screen.
