LG 55" OLED55B4PSA Oled B4 4K UHD Smart TV [2024]

This TV exceeded my expectations. The system is quite clever and, if configured properly, delivers an excellent experience. The AI image / program detection works quite well. The sound is much better than previous flat TVs and if you are not too much obsessed with 'cinema' effects, the sound system performs decently. The picture is really amazing especially in Dolby Atmos UHD mode. The TV automatically detects films and goes in film mode removing the 'video' effect, maximising the movie as the director meant it. The OLED contrast is just unbeatable and, despite warnings that OLED screens are not bright compared to QLEDs, I have to say that this TV does actually quite well, killing all the room light reflection, even the window light, during the day, is barely ... MoreThis TV exceeded my expectations. Only 'gripe' so far would be the voice recognition being a bit 'annoying' but I guess is more down to myself not able to use it properly. Overall a really good product.

This is our 2nd OLED from LG - this time to replace our ageing 6-year-old TV in the lounge. Although considered the entry-level model, don't let that tagline fool you; this TV offers astonishing picture quality. Our first OLED made us watch all our favourite movies again (a strong litmus test for the picture quality). The 2024 model is no different, with our two little ones now refusing to watch their shows on any other telly in the house. Our 6-year-old TV was a heavy, chunky 50" beast with a thick protruding border around the screen. This 65" OLED is slimmer, lighter, and far more petite than it has a right to for its size, thanks to its borderless screen edge. Design-wise it is a thing of beauty and remarkably unobtrusive considering its size. This 65" OLED is slimmer, lighter, and far more petite than it has a right to for its size, thanks to its borderless screen edge. Design-wise it is a thing of beauty and remarkably unobtrusive considering its size. Saying that, we did note that as a stand mount it did not fit on our TV unit at all. The stands are positioned at the end of each side of the telly meaning you need a pretty wide TV unit to stand this on. It was only a short-term problem for us as we've since wall-mounted it-but it is something to be aware of if your primary decision is the stand mount option for your room.If planning to attach the TV to the wall, consideration should be taken to the type of wall bracket purchased. The HDMI 3 (eARC/ARC) connection in particular is located on the back of the TV-along with the HDMI 4, optical digital out and LAN-instead of at the side. This can be a pain to access and/or use with a fixed slim mount or flush wall mount. Ensure you have a right-angle adapter or cable if exploring this mount option to avoid any frustrations. At < 20 kgs this TV is very light for its size - which does help eliminate any anxiety around attempting a wall mount without the worry of it falling off. (It was so light I was able to wall mount this on my own with minimal effort). If burn-in is one of your worries then the good news is this is becoming far less of a concern these days. Our 2022 model was quite aggressive in the way it handled this problem with the screen saver coming on almost immediately on non-use. The 2024 model has adopted a far more relaxed approach to none use-to the point that my aforementioned anxiety was triggered quite a few times during the first 2 weeks of use when I noticed my screen was still showing a paused movie instead of the customary screen saver after popping out to make a cup of coffee. If LG are less concerned about burn-in, then so should you be.Overall a great purchase.

When I ordered this C Series I was sceptical if I should I buy another LG OLED tv, as how could they improve such a nice tv. However I did go ahead and buy this LG OLED C4 series and when it did arrive I wasn't really impressed with the look of the packaging as it didn't give me much excitement to look at a plain box, it could have been more colourful and printed but I guess to save the environment it came without any colours. After setting up the TV, I realised that the sound quality has improved so much, by this I mean the depth of sound and at low volume it just sounded so loud. Also the picture quality is very impressive too, it just looks crystal clear and there are different presets available for different viewings. After setting up the TV, I realised that the sound quality has improved so much, by this I mean the depth of sound and at low volume it just sounded so loud. Also the picture quality is very impressive too, it just looks crystal clear and there are different presets available for different viewings. The brightness is very good and impressive along with the HDR setting which sets it alight from other tv's that I've used. The viewing angles from the sides is just as impressive as looking from the front as the colours don't fade. The good thing about this tv is that it has 4 hdmi ports which are all 144 hertz and are good for gamers along with the dashboard that can be used while playing so I could change the settings to suit the game I am playing. The remote for this tv is similar to the previous model I had and it looks too plastic and cheap but it does have good functions as the pointer is helpful when I want to select things and it also has a scrawler along with one touch buttons to some regular apps that I use to watch films. This tv also supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos and that makes a lot of difference when watching certain programs and playing games. However there are a few things that I'm not really impressed with that they could have changed from the previous model I had and that was the power cable which is set permanent and can't be made long so it could be short from your socket and also the ports are all on one side of the tv as before they were split on the back and some on the left side to connect your devices. The rear design of the tv doesn't feel premium as it has a cement type effect which is very rough and not smooth to touch at all. The remote could have been changed to make it feel more premium such as adding metal or titanium as it feels too plastic and cheap. Since using this tv there are too many updates and it just feels annoying to wait while the tv is updating but at least it feels like the updates will make the experience better so it's worthwhile doing these frequently. Fantastic tv overall.
