I bought this to replace a big, bulky, heavy HP Omen that I was tired of lugging around. I love that this thing is light and slim, but still packs plenty of punch for what I'm doing (admittedly I often just RDP to my desktop). My only problem is the touchpad. I hate it. And that's a big deal, since I use it all the time. It's an ELAN pad, and seems far inferior to the Synaptics touchpad on my HP Omen, or many other laptops I've used.I don't know if it's the drivers or the pad itself, but it is sluggish to register minor movements. It often doesn't recognize taps without pushing down entirely on the pad to get it to click, and the actuation takes enough pressure that I end up with a cramped hand.I've tried drivers from other manufacturers that use an ELAN pad, ... MoreI bought this to replace a big, bulky, heavy HP Omen that I was tired of lugging around. But that has not helped.I would easily give this 5 stars if not for the touchpad. Given the importance of the touchpad, dropping 3 stars might be generous.

Overall, I've been happy with my purchase. For some reason, I thought it was a touchscreen, and it's not. Other than Outlook is NOT happy (is it ever?), it's a nice laptop. The screen resolution is amazing, the speakers are adequate for a laptop although they don't get very loud. The added memory is a bonus and keep everything (except Outlook) moving well especially since I tend to keep a lot more windows open than recommended. My only real issue is that I've already scratched the lid. I have no idea how I did it, but I did. I have another LG 15" laptop that I've had for about 6 months and have never been able to scratch its lid. However, the battery life on this one is also phenomenal! I used to be happy getting 2-4 hours of battery by periodically shutting more things down and lowering the screen brightness to extend the life. On both of these laptops, I can get 4-8 hours depending on workload, settings, etc. For such lightweight laptops, that is amazing!

I love this laptop. I wanted a large screen and LG definitely delivered! The facial recognition is a great feature, just open the laptop and it recognizes you immediately unless you’re in low lighting. The only negative thing I can say so far is the keypad is slightly loud. So if you’re in a library you can hear the clicking of your keys. But the laptop is so lightweight that I don’t care about the loud clicking of the keys. The laptop was pricey but it was worth every penny. I called tech support the day I received it because I had issues setting it up and their tech support was so much better than the other brand that I had to replace. I purchased an LG so that I wouldn’t have to deal with the Other computer company’s tech support and I’m glad I made that choice. ... MoreI love this laptop. I'm very satisfied with this 17" LG 'gram' laptop, esp. at the price I paid. It is "last year's model" (12th Gen Intel Evo i7 vs. current 13th Gen offerings), but coming from a 12-year-old Toshiba Qosmio, anything would be an upgrade. One of the biggest improvements is battery life. I changed or disabled a few of the battery saving settings, running it in semi-high performance mode, and easily get 10+ hours. "Power Mode" is set to Best Performance, and I tweaked a few things in the old Power control panel.Having owned three LG TVs, I expected a great display, and this one does not disappoint. Plentiful RAM and a 1 TB SSD are great to have. It runs Windows 11 Home just fine. Plentiful RAM and a 1 TB SSD are great to have. It runs Windows 11 Home just fine. That was probably the biggest adaptation, coming from Windows 7.From a pure aesthetics POV, I love the understated elegance, from the barely visible LG logo at the bottom of the screen's bezel, to the reflective inlay of the 'gram' logo on the lid. There are barely any lights to speak of (e.g., no HDD activity light), but the light that matters - backlit keyboard - comes with two levels of brightness and a configurable timeout in one of the LG apps. There was very little bloatware to delete (just two for me; I left the LG apps)One review mentioned (and depicted, IIRC) the fact that the surface can be a bit of a fingerprint/palm print magnet. That may be true, esp. due to the fact that it's black, but I find it cleans up very easily with a nominally damp paper towel and microfiber cloth. The 14" white version my wife got shows very little. Kudos to LG for making that one in white. Absolutely made her day :-)The weight is fantastic, esp. for a 17", but again, comparing it to the old Qosmio. The only minor annoyance is the Realtek sound chip. It's hamstrung at 16-bit 44.1 & 48 kHz, and 24-bit 44.1 & 48 kHz. I'm at a loss as to why they didn't include a chip capable of up to at least 24-bit 192 kHz, or program this one for that. OTOH, it is onboard sound. For real "audiophile" quality, one would likely use an external DAC or DAC+amp. My Schiit Audio Hel+ takes care of LG's oversight, and I won't ding them for it. YMMV, of course. The Hel+ runs fine out of one of the USB-C/Thunderbolt ports, and would likely do so from one of the USB-3 ports on the other side. All in all I'm loving the upgrade.
So far so good. Laptop works as advertised. I hope it lasts longer than my last HP which lasted only 4 years. Only thing it doesnt have that I would have liked is a touch screen. Also the camera is kind of grainy compared to my logitech camera.I like that the help desk took my call. They could not recommend a docking station for me to purchase. You should sell and/or be able to recommend one. Also, for a premium laptop you should include or recommend a protective case for the laptop to fit in. It was great that you included the Laplink PCMover software to transfer the files from my old laptop, but there was no directions on how to install the software on my old computer to facilitate the transfer. At last, a laptop that not only fast enough to play moderately demanding games, but despite the 17-inch screen which is a joy to behold, also light enough to carry around and has battery life that keeps it going all day. You might want more RAM or storage if you were editing videos but the specs suggest you can add more storage; I haven't opened it up to check. The centrepiece though is the display. I love the anti-glare screen so I can sit by a window without seeing reflections, narrow bezels allow the screen to fill the field of view and it's plenty bright enough for my uses.Othe user interface issues: the keyboard is just deep and clicky enough to be great to type on, and the separate number pad is useful too - if only for the Enter key that sits on the far right and is easy to prod when typing quickly. If I had a criticism, it would be that the Enter key in the middle of the keyboard is harder to pick out than if it were larger, and I'd prefer the Home and End keys, which I use a lot when typing, not to require use of the Fn key. The black case also picks up fingerprints easily but these are easy to remove with isopropyl alcohol. Or vodka will probably work too! And I'd prefer to have had Windows Pro installed by default rather than Home just for the additional networking functionality but that's simple to remedy.Charging is via a USB-C port and the charger itself is a fairly small, lightweight component, making the whole apparatus easy to carry around when necessary.Overall, after weeks of research, I'm delighted with the laptop which brings together everything you might want at the right price in a 17-inch laptop. I first spotted the Gram and thought it was probably too good but couldn't find another product to beat it.
This laptop ticks all the boxes. It is lightweight, with a large clear, and crisp screen, that is sturdy and not flimsy. Constantly traveling up and down the country for work I was conscious before purchasing that it would be a chore to carry a 17" screen and that I would have to recharge it a few times on journeys - I was very wrong. It is very portable, and not a chore to transport. The long battery life allows around 12+ hrs of constant use and up to 19.5 hrs use for less intense operation. In short, it allows you to get your work done without the need to charge even on long journeys. In short, it allows you to get your work done without the need to charge even on long journeys. I currently go 2-3 days before recharging. In terms of operation and functionality, the laptop seamlessly and very quietly switches between tasks, from Netflix to Microsoft Office to gaming platforms to internet and video calling with the use of its 16GB of RAM and its Intel Core i7 processor. It is a powerful machine that you would not be able to tell was turned on, it is that quiet. It has lots of storage (1TB SSD), ideal for those who take lots of pictures and want a place to store them. The laptop also comes with a security mode that restricts the camera and microphone entirely - ideal for those who are security conscious.Small additions that I think are useful to note are that the keyboard is backlit with three options - off | low light | high light - which is ideal for those of us who like to work late at night or in poor light conditions. Keyboard related too is that in the box there was a keyboard cover that sits nicely over the keyboard and stops crumbs from getting between or under the keys for all of us who like to eat nearby. Lastly, Alexa is built in! Ideal for all of us music lovers, you do not have to set this option up but if you do want to it will require an Amazon account.Overall it is a top-of-the-range sleek-looking laptop with a powerful machine inside. The laptop in my opinion is ideal for people who are always on the go, require a laptop to run large software programs and do not have the opportunity to always charge it. Being top of the range means it costs a little more and in my opinion, is definitely a worthwhile investment! But for those who don't want such a large screen, there is the 16" option available, also running similar specs. The laptop is light and powerful. It is designed to make Life Good.
The LG gram 17Z90Q 17" Laptop is definitely a force to be reckoned with. The hallmark of this laptop is its generously large screen of 17”, weighing in at under 1.4kg, which is quite an impressive feat – providing a slim and lightweight experience, making it more convenient to take this laptop on the move with you. Whilst you’re on the move, you can be at ease, knowing that the average laptop battery life lasts around 16 hours between charges. The screen itself is near bezel-less, making it as compact as it could be for a 17” laptop. The 16:10 aspect ratio provides incredibly sharp resolution, that is further backed by a bright screen, with 350 nits and anti-glare coating, ensuring on a sunny day, your screen can be seen with ease! For those who like to use dual-screens, the LG Gram has the ability to pair with the gram+ view, for a more proactive multi-tasking experience. The LG Gram already runs on the latest operating system (Windows 11), making the set-up quite a breeze, with no long downloads, meaning the laptop is virtually ready-to-go straight from unboxing. The RAM storage on the laptop is 16GB LPDDR5 (@5200 MHz), which means this laptop can handle multiple high-performance tasks simultaneously, whether this be having many programs running, files or multiple screens open- this laptop can truly do it all!The 12th gen Intel (i7) processor provides the laptop with high-end power when it comes to processing speeds, leading to CPU performance that makes no compromises, as the 12 efficient cores within the I7 work intelligently, providing faster speeds when gaming, multi-tasking or media-editing. There are no compromises in storage either, as this laptop is fitted with a terabyte of solid-state storage, which provides enormous amount of space for media, apps, files and games, that can be accessed faster than HDD options. It is note-worthy to mention that SDD are noticeably quieter, lighter and more energy-efficient!The customized features and adaptations unique to this laptop are extremely appreciated, which is all thanks to LG Glance.Unfortunately, the LG gram doesn’t have touchscreen applications, which was a shame, however, with such a high-resolution screen, one does think that smudgy fingerprints would indeed taint the immersive experience! It is also quite an expensive piece of hardware, meaning it isn’t a likely option if you’re on a budget, albeit you do get what you pay for.

This is amazing for 17’’ screen, and this laptop can be taken out for a whole day without worrying about having to charge it. On one occasion, I managed to work on this computer for 2 days without a single charge (but there were a few breaks included). The 65W USB-C charger included refuels it pretty quickly, and it takes just under 3 hours for a full charge.Design: There are plenty of different slots: 2 x USB-C, 2 x USB-A, 1 x HDMI, 1 x headphone jack. It even includes a SD-card reader!Minor issues: The main one for me is the glare. It can be annoying, especially on a sunny day, and it’s a shame to see it on such a gorgeous looking screen. For this price, you’d also expect a touch screen, which is sadly not there.Bottom line: It’s an amazing laptop with a stunning screen which is a pleasure to use. This device is perfect if you’re always on the go and can’t charge it.
