I use this "smart tv" as a dumb monitor, and I'm pleased to say that after setup, it has not pestered me at all. When it powers up, it acts as a monitor every time. As a photo editor, it is awesome. Blacks are totally black, whites totally white, and tonal response between them is smooth and easily tweaked in the setup. I mostly edit at HDTV resolution and display the photos at 4K. It also works well for streaming media, no issues. It does not work with my Sony blu-ray player and after 2+ hours online with DG support, they said it's Sony's fault and suggested I buy a DG player. I haven't tested the speakers, either.

A lot of TV for the money . . .

Pro: Good picture (except black or brown dark shading, which is horribly "layered" and looks artificial), but this is rare.Con: Intrusive data gathering and reporting back to LG on viewing habits - and won't let you use it unless you comply with pages and pages of demands, fiddly remote a bit like an '80s video game with unintuitive layers of command screens, a nasty habit of coming on to terrestrial TV upon switch-on, greeting you with a loud "dead channel" roar if you are using the TV for streaming or cable only.Neutral: Mediocre audio but nearly everyone uses a sound bar.Top Tip: Use the set with Roku and Amazon Firestick for the interface, either or both make it much easier to use..

Best in class picture.

I personally love this TV. I have had mine for about 3-4 years now. I have been able to use this TV to it's fullest. The picture quality is perfection. I use mine typically at night time for my gaming sessions when the children go to bed. I use a PlayStation 5 and a custom PC with mine. Everything I do on this tv is an adventure. I got the 5 year warranty through BestBuy and have not had to use it yet. Knock on wood. I will be using this TV until it dies. Then I will be buying another LG tv. That's how good this brand is. If you are in the market for a OLED get any of the C series LG OLEDS and you will not be disappointed.

DO NOT BUY LG PRODUCTS
5 September 2024

DO NOT BUY ANY LG PRODUT EVER PERIOD. I bought an LG OLED 55 CX PUA in November,2020 thinking that it would last me years to come. Lo and behold come September ,2024 (not even 4 years)my TV would not even start. LG suggested I contact an authorize service technician to see if the motherboard was OK and that could be fixed for about $400-$600. But after my TV diagnosis it came out that my whole OLED TV panel was bad and needed a new one to repair that costs $2000.He even admitted that this is a premium TV and should have lasted at least 10 good years without trouble. The components the LG TV are no good at all. Now I bought this TV in Nov 2020 for a little over $2000.LG is telling me the largest piece which is about $2000 which in fact is more than the retail for a ... MoreDO NOT BUY ANY LG PRODUT EVER PERIOD. LOOK LG, I spend over $ 2000 on a brand new TV, is it a reasonable expectation to spend approximately that much of money only to have it GO BAD after 2-3 years(. In this case after 90 days) and have them repaired for additional $1000 more.IS THIS THE LEVEL OF QUALITY YOU ARE AIMING FOR WHEN YOU GUYS MAKE THESE SO CALLED PREMIUM OLED TV'S ? (LG= LIFE's NO GOOD)

Don’t Buy!! Doesn’t last
7 March 2024

Bought this TV in 2021. Exactly 2 year and 4 months later, the TV would keep shutting down intermittently, sometimes with a loud screeching noise. The only way to make it work again was to unplug the power cord and plugging back. I paid to have a technician diagnose it and he concluded it was the faulty OLED panel that was causing the TV to shut down. LG has 5 year warranty on some oled panels but not this. Such a shame that such an expensive TV (paid more than 2K) didn’t last even 3 years and LG can’t help. The TV had excellent picture quality before it broke. Just noticed from reviews that someone else had the exact same problem with this model. Throwing this away and never buying any LG product ever

I bought this TV few years ago from Costco and purchased a 5 years Allstate extended warranty. Took me couple of hrs to setup.Pros:Excellent picture and color.Excellent soundLots of connection optionsAwesome magic remoteCons:Low contrastLow quality WiFi adapter (broke the 2nd month, main board was replaced twice for the same reason. Broke again on the 3rd year and I’m still waiting for the Allstate tech to come out and repair it.This TV would get a 5star if the WiFi had a solid connection.Every time I called for service I was asked to do a master reset and each time I had to setup everything, download all my installed apps and re sign in on every app. So frustrating. As for Allstate extended warranty, don’t ever bother not worth it.

Bought this TV less than 2 years ago from Costco. Delivery was on time and perfect. I installed and setup according to an expert recommendations and started enjoying the excellent picture. 4K content picture quality is amazing, upscaling is great. The magic remote is a plus for this TV. It easily adopts the device you are using and controls it perfectly. So, what’s the point of getting a 3 star and not a 5 star? I guess most people like me streams video content these days and that requires a solid WiFi connection. My 5G network has a perfect steady 50+ speed and no lagging on videos at all, but the TV internal WiFi adapter kept dropping connection intermittently and at times I was unable to reconnect to my WiFi. After experiencing this for weeks and trying on different WiFi networks, I realized it’s the TV. I contacted Costco concierage support and created a ticket. After almost 2 weeks a Tech from ITI scheduled and replaced the main board and admitted that it’s a known issue. He replaced the board, setup and tested. Just after a week, the same problem started happening. Contacted Costco again and opened a new ticket. After 10 days the same technician from ITI came and replaced the board again. This was few days ago. Ever since last board replacement, WiFi has dropped twice in few days. I guess I’m going to live with it. No more calling and re explaining and carrying the tv to another room for repair.I love this TV, but LG should’ve fix this issue permanently. Because this TV deserves a 5 star.

OLED 65" tv stopped working in less than 3 years
16 November 2023

Our OLED 65" tv stopped working before it reached 3 years of age. In the Repair Product section of my account the tv seems to have 3 years of warranty, however in reality it only has 2 years as I was told on the phone – I consider this misleading information as after logging in the following is shown for the product: "Mano de Obra 3 años / Repuestos 3 años" (so it should be 3 years). Also, I would not expect a high-quality LG OLED tv to break down in such short amount (less than 3 years). To fix the tv, I need to package it, however even the packaging instructions are contradictory on the Spanish site as they are recommending to package it in the original tv box, but also recommend to use a new box for this purpose (in my opinion the original box cannot be a new ... MoreOur OLED 65" tv stopped working before it reached 3 years of age. The LG TV is phenomenal. At 77 inches, it always delivers a clear view even in low Rez transmissions. The great part about it as a 2022 TV is that it has advanced, integrated, smart TV capabilities. It joins up with ring, Alexa, and Seamlessly runs all my streaming with Disney, HBO, plus, prime etc. without having to get additional parts. It also has a function to appear like artwork which you can have scrolling in the background and it literally looks like a painting on the wall. The TV is unreal. action sports on the OLED make all other TVs worthless. There is no streaking, you can see the players names, etc. I cannot encourage you more to buy it.Using a PS5 is seamless, no lag, superb image!LG uses a “magic” cursor to navigate and it’s just you moving the ... MoreThe LG TV is phenomenal. No having to repeatedly click a button to go across the screen; you just quickly and efficiently use your wrist to chose letters/apps. So cool. The price is also dramatically lower than ever before. Do it! Do it!

Terrible build quality causes main board failure

Granted, we've had this TV for 3 years and my boyfriend was *super* excited when we got this after several weeks of research. And the picture is great.About 9 months ago the TV started freezing, then turning itself off. At first we had no idea what was causing it because it's connected to an HTPC, and we only use it as a monitor for the computer. We use none of the advanced "smart" TV features. We bought a new video card for the computer, messed around with all of the software on the computer, installed new audio drivers, new video drivers, updated the TVs firmware, etc. etc. for months. Then we came across allllll of the posts on Reddit and other places about overheating main boards in the CX line of LG smart TVs. Apparently the people who assembled them did not apply enough thermal paste to prevent the processor from overheating. Has LG issued a recall? Not that I'm aware of. And good luck finding the replacement main board online. Everywhere that carried them (even eBay) is sold out.If I new someone at the Consumer Protection agency I'd call them in a heartbeat. Honestly, I may do that anyway.
