I bought this 2 years ago when I was expecting a baby. I bought it because it had the baby care cycle option and child lock. 1) the baby care cycle does not allow you to change it to cold water and MOST baby clothes require garments to be washed in cold, not warm water. Requiring you to have to unattach the hot hose, pointless (advice given to me by LG customer care. Not good enough when I use hot water for my work clothes so they expect me to unscrew the hose and put it back on, nope.) 2) the child lock feature is completely useless when the child is still able to turn the off button while in child lock mode and the off button is the BIGGEST button on the display right next to all the other buttons. (Clearly, since I’m now writing this review it’s bugging me so badly. 3) the door jam is finicky requiring me to slam it or else I get blasted with alarm sounds. Again, not child friendly if my toddler is napping and I’m slamming the door shut. Don’t buy this if you have kids, done be fooled by the child friendly settings on this machine. It’s a trap and If your kids don’t drive you batty, this machine will!

I put on a load with the synthetic cycle and it took over three hours. The cotton cycle was similarly long... so long I couldn't complete a load of washing between coming home from work at 7ish and going to bed at 10. I have tried the cotton 'quick' cycle and it was over two hours. Not only are the cycles ridiculously long, there is no timer display so you have no idea when it will finish. There is no schedule function for you to time a load to start at a convenient time. There is also no cancel/water drain button to release your washing early, it's stuck in there. There is also no cycle time information provided in the user manual so it's a real gamble. Quick 30 is the only option worth using. Great washer and priced right!

My first front load washer bought out of necessity due to me moving and not having space for my top loader Maytag. The front loader sits nicely on a bench. This LG is a beauty! I have no regrets in purchasing it. Its price point is also an aspect as it proves you dont have to overpay to get a great machine. Machine does not have a countdown indicator for the different wash programs, no matter as you will become accustomed to program durations by noting the time you started the program. Ive also read that more expensive machines with time remaining indicators are not accurate anyway. On the 1200 rpm spin cycle the washer is stable. This model is a good investment!

It washes clothes ... well!
4 September 2018

This machine does exactly what it says it does; that is, washes clothes effectively. This is the least of its dramas though as it has to contend with 2 kids under 4 years old doing everything they can to distract it from its work. If I leave the laundry door open for just 5 seconds the little angels are in there pushing buttons, banging on the door, trying to climb in it and generally just being annoying. The proof will be in the motors pudding though as it’s going to get a fair workout over the next few years (hopefully) ... We decided on this one because the last LG (same model) was put through its paces and the motor gave out after 8 years. LG FRONT LOAD WASHING MACHINE 7KG
20 May 2022

We bought our washing machine 20 years ago and have used it almost every day. My husband and I are both in our 70s and I am disabled but it is still easy for me to use. The only problem is the the door has broken off twice when each time a visitor has been using it and tries to open it too soon. We had it fixed the first time but it has happened again. My husband has found a small metal plate to push it to the open catch to get it to open. I find this very hard to use and was wondering if a new door is still available for that 20 year old machine. it is still going well otherwise. Could you please advise me if a new door is available and, if so, how much it would be. We are both pensioners and hope we don't have to buy a new machine as this one has been great.

Unfortunately it got a crack in the drum. Spent $200 getting a technician out to be told I might as well buy a new washing machine. It only lasted 5 years. So the new washing machine will not be an LG this time.

[Rewarded Review] Does not have a screen, upgrade to another LG
18 June 2021

Purchased the WD1200D as it had basic functions and worked well for us as a working couple who would've used the machine once a week. Now, as a family with children, it has a few downfalls where it's missing a screen that shows how long is left for the cycle to run, and there's no short 60 degree cycle, which is useful for cloth nappy prewash. Cycle times vary from the manual due to amount of suds and load size so having a newer model will be of benefit if washing daily.LG customer service were amazing. Easy to register your appliance online and contactable if any problems in and outside of warranty. Would definitely recommend LG products for their service.

[Rewarded Review] Great washing machine at a very competitive price!
12 November 2020

An excellent easy to use washing machine with everything you need, and lost of settings for each wash. The price was extremely competitive, the build is solid and it even plays you a little tune when the wash is done. Highly recommended! I wish it didn't have the open-delay timer (child safety lock) but that's just personal preference as I don't have any kids in my house, not really a negative thing as a lot of people would probably prefer to have it as it is the safest option, as such a full 5 stars from me!

[Rewarded Review] LG appliances are "peace of mind" products.
12 November 2020

I chose one of these LG washing machines from other brands many years ago and it was running perfectly for 11 years before a move overseas caused me to sell it. Being mechanically minded the direct drive motor (which is guaranteed for 10 years) was a no-brainer for me. So when the time came on my return from overseas to buy new appliances I went straight for LG again and this time included an LG TV and a Refrigerator. I could have paid less for other brands but my motto is "buy the best and it will save you money in the long run".
