I bought this gate because it doesn’t have a bottom frame so it is not a trip hazard on our stairs. However this gate creaks like crazy so I wouldn’t suggest putting it anywhere near the baby’s bedroom as it will wake them up every time you open the gate. The hinge is also plastic, so you can’t easily de-creak it.

Yes this gate is expensive, but you get what you pay for - it is by far the best baby gate we have ever had. It opens and closes easily and is very sturdy. If you have young children (i.e. will need a gate for a while yet) and use a particular gate a lot then I would highly recommend. We have cheaper gates on some doors and have put this gate on the top and bottom of our stairs.

Yes it's expensive but this is the best safety gate ever for the top of stairs and well worth the money. Highly recommended.
This gate is surprisingly flawed for such an expensive product. On the upside, it is solid and opens up almost the entire width of the door, unlike many other gates. On the downside, the lock mechanism isn't very smooth, the gate sags on its hinges, both of which makes the opening and closing quite noisy - not something you want in or near the nursery. It also requires drilling, which makes it potentially unsuitable for staircases and some homes. For something in this price class, I expected more.
Really great gates, however I think they are now discontinued? Would recommend though, have had other brands and this type are by far the best.
I highly recommend the Lumi Gate. Easy to install, however is mounted with drill. I placed this gate at the top of my stairs and will be purchasing additional gates for bottom of stairs etc. Well worth the price. I love the fact that there is no bar along to bottom to walk over unlike the other gates (which can cause a tripping hazard). Easy to open and close. Easy functionality.
This gate has already been replaced under warranty and has again fallen to pieces. Each mechanism and component is made of the cheapest known plastic- splits and cracks. If you have a real world child do not buy this gate unless you want to create more landfill and support cheap chinese junk at a hefty price.
Easy to open with one hand. We have one at both the top and bottom of our staircase, and our toddler cannot figure out how open them herself. Lost one star as I find you need to use quite a lot of force to make sure it shuts properly (but this may just be because our old terraced walls are wonky), and they are not self-closing so if you forget to close them your toddler can get into harm’s way.
Very good, although written instructions with pictures would spped up installation.
