I bought several rolls of this yarn for crocheting shawls. The yarn has beautiful colors in gradients. This yarn is weight 3, uniform in thickness throughout its length. (I prefer weight 4, so I worked with 2 strands of weight 3 yarns.)I wasn't sure how much yarn was needed, so I bought extra. In the red-pink colored ombre, the length of yarn in each shade (color) was different. The darkest shade had the longest length, decreasing to the lightest pink which had the shortest length. I wish I had known to expect this as I designed my own pattern for the shawl.

Purchased 3 pack from Walmart. Received all the same dye lot and sequence of colors. Shipping and pricing from Walmart was excellent.Used the Narnia color. Has a very bright pink and other nice colors. Some of the yarn was very thin in sections no longer than 2-3 stitches. Very undesirable quality from Lion Brand. Thinning occurred in every ball of yarn. Otherwise nice striping and color combinations. I have bought this brand before and the thinning in sections of yarn is very disappointing.Yarn is a 3 weight and made a chevron ripple crochet baby blanket.I used all three balls of yarn for one blanket.Blanket was about 42”W X 45”L.(Starting chain was 147; pattern called for multiple of 12 3, used 5mm hook)

It's a very pretty yarn, and it's soft enough that it doesn't irritate my somewhat sensitive skin. However. . . There is one small problem with the yarn, in my opinion. . . I bought (ordered them delivered) two skeins of Nifflers hoping to use them to make a pair of matching gloves then I planned to make a scarf out of the remains, but while the colors of the skeins were the same, they didn't start in the same order. The first skein I ordered started out deep blue moving into purple, the second skein I ordered started out with peach moving into yellow. So I'm order to having matching gloves I've had to unroll the skein, which is a serious pain in the butt. Otherwise it's a very nice yarn.

I ordered the color 'genie' and the colors only barely match what is pictured online or what I've seen from others who reviewed the same thing. It's baby pastel teal and 50% medium gray. I didn't get any black between 4 skeins. I'm working up my second skein and there's lots of flecks of gray in the white, making it look dirty. This wasn't a problem with the first skein. I don't think the recipient will mind so I'm not stopping but probably won't buy this again. I do like the weight of the yarn and haven't had trouble with bad factory joins like other reviewers. Perhaps at deep discount would consider another colorway, but no one should pay full price for these. Questioning the quality of lion brand after disappointment with another of their yarns as well.
I ordered the three pack and frankly this yarn is unusable. There are multiple knots per skein (and it isn't a big skein) - one of my skeins literally had seven knots, two of them were within ten feet of each other. This makes A LOT of ends to weave in. Worse, the knots join colors out of order so it's impossible to have a consistent color repeat in your project unless you cut each color apart and put it in order, which frankly defeats the purpose of color changing yarn. And even then, two of my skeins left out two of the colors in the repeat, so I couldn't even put them in order manually if I wanted to.This isn't the first time I've had this problem with Lion Brand's mandala brands. If you buy this yarn, buy at least double what you think you'll need so you can substitute colors they leave out from the extra skeins.
I love this yarn! The colours are vibrant and flow beautifully. As a VIP there was an offer to purchase multiple at a great price so having used some other colours successfully for throws and shawls as gifts recently, I bought more to make additional items. It's comfortable to work with and looks and feels stunning. Although acrylic, it has a soft wooly feel and the meterage of the ball is fabulous. Love this yarn.
The problem is shown in "Groot," which I have on my needles now, but every cake of this yarn I have knitted has the same problem: the yarn is not all one piece, and each cake contains multiple pieces joined together with large, clumsy, frayed knots. Either you have to knit through the knot, which sticks out and makes a fuzzy spot and an unpleasant lump, or you have to cut out the knot and start new pieces of yarn, creating ugly bulky places where you had to weave the ends into whatever you're knitting. This yarn is acrylic and pieces cannot be felted together, so there is no better way to avoid these knots. The colors were pretty, but I will not buy any more of this type of yarn.
Beginner at crochet and this yarn was perfect for my first project.I got it in chimera and I love the colours.Things to note : while the colours go really well together, the transition between colours is abrupt rather than gradual. This was better for me as I just just unwound the yarn and cut it into each of the colours and chose which colours in which order I wanted to use. I waited for it to be on sale so got it cheap too! There are some very small inconsistencies in the colour but I find this adds to the effect I want.
I made a project with 20 balls of this yarn. It was ok to crochet with (size 5 hook) but because it's a little thin I used two balls at once. Great effect colour wise but that's when I discovered a huge difference in ball length. Often one ball would be finished ling before the other (see photo) not sure if that means balls are too short or some are very long?Second problem is the sudden colour changes. Sometimes this is how the yarn is dyed, other times its due to a new colour being knotted in.Third problem is that the wool ply is inconsistent. I guess the ply varies from about 6ply up to about 12ply. This is really noticeable when using two balls at once.I bought this yarn on special so I don't regret choosing it. Would not pay full price despite the balls ... MoreI made a project with 20 balls of this yarn. It was ok to crochet with (size 5 hook) but because it's a little thin I used two balls at once. Would not pay full price despite the balls being quite long. Quality is too inconsistent especially for fine work. Would recommend with caveats.
Love the yarn but didn't like the fact that I have ordered 4 times from Walmart and never got the amount I ordered. They were selling the yarn for $5.97 for s multipack of 3. I wanted 6 all together, which is 2 of the multipack. I have ordered 2 so they sent me 2 individual balls. 4 times I tried getting 2 packs only got 2 individual balls each time. All the customer service people said that is was supposed to be a 3 pack /$5.97. They didn't understand where the problem. Somewhere there is a problem counting. Going to try it again and see what happen. I'll let everyone know.
