I want to love Lion brand yarn as their Wool Ease Thick and Quick Yarnis easy to use for knitting hats on a round loom. However, I have had to return 7 skeins of this yarn in various colors/patterns (5 in one month) as the yarn was broken in the center or the end of the skein. The factory simply knotted the yarn and continued winding the skein. There wasn't any way to see from looking at the skein when purchasing it. I chose this yarn for it's weight as well as it's length. The length allows you to create a hat with one skein. Wool Ease yarn has made my projects look professional. I am a beginner level knitter. I am learning new stitches with each project. I am adding slippers with my blankets. My family members are making requests when the blankets are shared. I use YouTube to learn the new stitches. Knitting a blanket gives you lots of practice when learning new stitches. My mistakes blend right in and my family can wrap themselves in Mom and Grandna love.

I was looking for yarn to make my next afghan, so I chose this color/design. I haven’t used this brand yet, so I bought only a few to give it a try. I’m loving everything about it - high quality, durability, and very easy to work with. It’s going to be a very thick afghan fro keep us warm in these cold winter months. This product comes highly recommended. Also, Michael’s online has various sales to bring the cost down when you buy in quantity/bulk. They have an awesome online service and the shipping is reasonably priced. I received my order earlier than anticipated.

This is a great blend of wool and acrylic. It’s just enough wool to be warm but it’s offset with enough acrylic that the wool isn’t too itchy. It’s great for socks, hats and scarves and make a nice weighty blanket. I would definitely buy this yarn again. The only problem I had is that sometimes there was a bit of a dramatic color variation for the same color. For example I bought multiple skeins of the color succulent and on some of them the color was very muted and others it was a deeper more vibrant color. It wasn’t bad enough that I noticed when I bought them but when I began to use them the color difference really showed. So just be aware.

My cousin asked me to make her the Matrixx hood, so I bought what I thought was enough of this yarn (in two different colors: spice and black walnut). I ordered both online and made the first hood with the spice yarn. I’m making the second hood now and come to discover that the black walnut is only 87 yards per skein. I’m modifying the pattern now so I’ll hopefully have enough yarn to finish as I’m on my 6th skein and have only one left. Black walnut is a solid colored yarn and so I assumed it had the yardage of a solid yarn (like the spice). I’m confused because there was no indication that these skeins would have significantly less yarn/skein. I ordered other colors of this brand and will check the yardage before I begin on my next project.
This yarn was soft and very easy to work with. I used it to crochet some adult booties and they turned out perfect. They are warm and smooth (non- irritating) to the skin with a good amount of stretch.I personally don't like blended yarn (thus only 4 stars), but if you don't mind the concept, this is a nice yarn with good qualities, the best of both materials. I think having the wool in there also makes it somewhat more absorbant and breathable which is good for items that end up next to the skin. The large size of the yarn made the project very quick to complete.
