Generally this tea is a wonderful standby, meaning if you have need a quick pick-me-up and there's nothing else at the 7-11 or fast food joint, then go for it. After reading about Lipton pesticide use problems in GreenPeace report Trouble Brewing, I don't think I'll be buying Lipton Yellow Label. Before I read the report, I would say it was in my cupboard. Lipton has a wonderful distinct taste--I once watched an informercial about how the Lipton tea tasters select their final tea blend. Sure it's industrial grade black orange pekoe, nice and crisp and pairs well with creme and sugar. However it is NOT at all like Chinese red tea. (Black orange pekoe tastes nothing like Jasmine red tea and probably they use different subspecies of shrubs, just as there are many ... MoreGenerally this tea is a wonderful standby, meaning if you have need a quick pick-me-up and there's nothing else at the 7-11 or fast food joint, then go for it. Whether I will buy a box for iced tea, maybe. However my digestion system is too sensitive (having taken radiation) to really drink too much of the tea, meaning I will get the runs.

British tea is made by a process unique to this nation called TMC, Tear, Macerate and Crush. Whilst elsewhere in the world the tea leaves are merely torn into small pieces, with TMC the leaves are torn, then put in the equivalent of a food processor, and then put through an industrial mangle. This TMC process extracts the maximum flavour and colour, but at the cost of bitterness and a tendency to "stew" when left too long in the pot. Its maximum "bang for your buck", but the bang is at the expense of taste. Yellow Label is made the continental way, giving only a light colour and a delicate taste. If you like "builders tea" you'll be disappointed, but if its delicate flavour you value, you'll love this tea.

The old reliable work horse. This is the tea brand of my mother and her mother. Everyone's house is full of the large and always affordable boxes of Lipton Black Tea. I don't know if this is just brand loyalty at this point or a genuine family allegiance but no other black tea bag tastes this good unless it has a some other fun flavor blended in. Like I'm not gonna have a black cup of tea unless it is lipton. Also makes for terrific iced tea with lemon. Plus the bags feel larger than more other tea bags and so I'll occasionally use a bag twice if the cup I used isn't too big and it doesn't produce that weak of a second cup. My only complaint that sometimes drinking lipton black on an empty stomach can give me a bit of a tummy ache or I feel a tad queasy. A bit of ... MoreThe old reliable work horse. Love this tea! Don't get me wrong, I am a serious coffee drinker. But sometimes my stomach just can't deal with coffee. I have found that this tea is the answer. It isn't bitter. My stomach LOVES it! I start, and finish, the day with this tea - and save my coffee drinking for the afternoon. This tea is delicious and mild. You won't be disappointed.
This is my go to tea. I always have a pitcher of sweet tea made in the refrigerator. That's the way my mom is and grandmother was. I don't know if it's a Southern thing since I was born and raised there or just a generational thing. But this is the brand of tea they always used as well. I used to use the bigger bags but the store was out one day. So I bought this instead, I switched to it after because I feel it tastes better and gives fresher tea since the others are not sealed like these. These have four rows with each row sealed in a foil like pack. There are 100 tea bags in the box. I recommend this definitely.
I grew up on this tea every summer. My parents would throw a couple of these bags into a glass jar and set it out and make sun tea and during the winter we would brew a gallon every other day. I still remember exactly how my parents like to drink their tea and as an adult now who does not drink tea very often I still always have this in my house. It is a quality product it last forever. It is your standard tea. You really can’t mess it up and it’s cheap.
This tea is like the old faithful of teas. We mostly use these tea bags for our homemade iced tea. Put 8 tea bags in a large, microwave safe cup of water, microwave til nearly boiling, let steep 5 more minutes after, and then pour Into the pitcher. Add the sweetener while it's still hot so it dissolves properly, and then fill the pitcher the rest of the way with ice and water. This is the CLASSIC, sweet ice tea that I think of when I think of ice tea. And of course, it's also the cure for any and all burns. Make a concentrated tea water and soak a burn in it for an hour, and there's no pain the next day. This is an absolute staple in the house.

I've tried several other brands of black tea. I always come back to Lipton. My husband makes his with gallon-size bags and uses honey to sweeten. I make mine a cup at a time for hot tea and use raw sugar. I also carry my Lipton bags and raw sugar with me when out for morning breakfast never knowing what kind of tea the restaurant might have. Order a cup of hot water and save a couple of bucks!!
I drink coffee in the morning and hot tea or hot chocolate at night in the fall and winter. I alsokeep tea in bags in the house in case I get sick. Isaw a box of Lipton tea bags in Staples alongwith a box of instant hot chocolate . I bought them both. I always try to buy Lipton tea bags. I was happy that Staples carried them, although their inventory was very low.
