This product is amazing!! Bathtub was filled with water about an inch or less. Tried unclogging it before putting this in but just couldn’t. Husband wanted to just call a plumber. Poured just a bit by the drain and used the plunger to get the water moving a bit. Left it alone for about 15 mins came back and water was gone! Proceeded to pour the rest, sit for 30th mins and poured a pot of boiling water down the drain. Worked perfectly!

My kitchen sink drain was nearly not draining at all, despite 3 treatments, one overnight, using another drain cleaner. Since that is the only sink in the house where I can get water for drinking & cooking, or wash dishes, I was desperate. I read reviews for various drain openers & settled on trying this one. I liked that it is supposed to work quickly, but I wanted to make sure it had time to work, so I left it for 2 hours. Then I heated about 2 quarts of water to not quite boiling & poured it down the drain, half expecting the water to back up into the sink. It did not. Amazing. I had a clogged toilet and learned (thanks Google) that a toilet brush can work better than a plunger. It did, but then I had a brush that was like a little tree top of soggy tissue and food particles. I made the mistake of rinising it off in the bathrom sink, not thinking about clogging that! Oops. This product did actually work in 7 minutes. You pour in the whole bottle and then 7 minutes later turn on the water and it runs straight down the drain.
No effect on the clog. I let it sit for about an hour before attempting to rinse and the water backed up just like before. Maybe it only works if you rinse it quickly? Or there simply wasn't enough cleaner in the bottle to have any effect. In any case, I wasn't really able to rinse it out as the water just pooled up in the tub. I ended up purchasing a different brand (4x the size, 1.4x the price) and let it sit overnight and that worked perfectly.Maybe it's unfair to compare an hour of soaking to an overnight effect, but this one claims it can do it in 7 minutes... not in my experience.
I purchased this for an extremely slow food disposal/sink drain. I don't use the food disposal, but the dishwasher drain is plumbed into the drain. I followed the directions and added time. I could not tell any difference, so I started looking again. Watched a YouTube video or two and decided to try the Lye (powder). The Lye worked like a gem. Again following the directions allowing extra time and used approximately 6 to 8 oz. I used hot tap water before and boiling water following the "sit time". There was an eruption (contained in the sink) that caught be by surprise. The drain opened up this time. I even ran the dishwasher rinse to make sure as it has been backing up into the sink and the dishwasher itself. I'm very happy with the results of the Lye (powder).
We do not let long hair go down the drain, I use a drain devil tool (plastic with teeth), to make sure and catch any missed hair regularly, but finally it happened. A clog that would not budge. I bought a large bottle (and used it TWICE) of Drano. Huge disappointment. Only improved drainage very slightly. Then tried an off brand twice, but no difference. Gave up for a couple weeks and just dealt with it, but it got worse again. Then bought this Liquid Plummer w/ Urgent Clear, as a last effort before calling my landlord to get it snaked. Pored it down, waited 15-20 min and flushed the sink (**made sure the water was scalding hot from the tap) and it was gone after 5 minutes of flushing. Praise the heavens. This now my “go to” product.
This worked 100%. We live in an apartment, and I couldn't use a snake device due to the water stopper being installed into the pipe. Before we decided to get down and unscrew the stopper from the pipe, we decided to try this first. Picked this bottle up, followed the directions, to a T, and boom. No more clog. The water was slow draining, so I did 16 minutes and made sure only hot water touched the drain during the flush. I knew I just had to put a good review on this to let others know and so I can refer back to this if I ever have another clogged drain in the future!

I plunged for a good hour and tried vinegar, boiling water, peroxide..then took the pipes directly under the sink off and realized they were not the problem. I then used a snake in the long pipe leading to the clog and dumped boiling water in...It was not budging after two days and 5 hours trying. Finally, I went down to Dollar General and bought a bottle of the LIquid Plumr urgent clear pro-strength gel and dumped that in the pipe. I let it sit longer than the 7-15 minutes. It was about 45-50 minutes and I then dumped about 2 gallons of boiling water water in the pipe and low and behold it was draining! So, I put the pipes together again, dumped more ... MoreThis works! But, I def recommend this product and also recommend not putting any kind of grease down your drain!!
