I like these Liquitex Basic Acrylic Paint products for a few of reasons. Firstly that the price point is very good. So I don't have to worry about skimping on paint for large paintings. Secondly they work well with other more expensive mediums and can be enhanced when necessary. Thirdly I like the clear tube, I know what color is inside at a glance. My only complaint is that there are a limited number or colors available. I think Liquitev should increase the product line to include more colors and also some glazes and slow drying colors.

I love this paint! I am not an artist, I am a hobbyist. I sew, paint and many other things a hobbyist does. Having tried many different types of paint, this paint does it all for me. Painting on many different types of material with the same paint is wonderful! You can use this paint on material, wood, rocks, bricks, walls, etc, etc. I especially like the fact that I almost never, have it bleed under my stencils!!! It is by far the best paint I have ever used.

Good enough for me - i used this for painting clay pots. it isn't super viscous, but not too thin. it is pigmented enough with enough coats, you will need to paint over the piece a few times if you want this to be non-translucent. i use c chalk to outline when i'm about to paint. the chalk can be seen right through. a second or third coat usually makes is less noticeable unless you're "looking for the chalk marks."

The basics acrylics line is really nice for general painting; theyâre much, much better pigmented than the cheap little bottles (the ones that usually sell for about a dollar and are really watery), but land in the more affordable side of a budget if you donât have to use really heavy-bodied acrylic.I use these for costume distressing (by very lightly dry-brushing or dry-sponging the acrylic in strategic layers), as well as for decorative window painting, props, and on canvas/wood. It wonât go on completely opaque, so youâll need at least 2-3 layers if thatâs what youâre going for, but I use different colors for my layers and it gives it a nice depth.Iâd love a one-handed squeeze-top nozzle, rather than a flip top (the lid often gets in the way, and I end up ... MoreThe basics acrylics line is really nice for general painting; theyâre much, much better pigmented than the cheap little bottles (the ones that usually sell for about a dollar and are really watery), but land in the more affordable side of a budget if you donât have to use really heavy-bodied acrylic.I use these for costume distressing (by very lightly dry-brushing or dry-sponging the acrylic in strategic layers), as well as for decorative window painting, props, and on canvas/wood. The image supplied; of my purchase, is showing a different color from the one that I purchased at my last visit to "Michaels". I, am hesitant to review the Liquitex-Basic Acrylics, since, depending upon the color and intended use and mixing; results do vary. But, I want to let you know, that these colors can be very nice indeed. Sometimes the opacity or density is measured slightly off and some of the available mediums, such as sandy finish, paste, or high gloss are not always available, either, in store, or online. Regarding my last purchase: I do like the buy one, get one with a coupon count off prices, { When that happens} And, for me these liquitex basics acrylics can often give very good tones and shades, unlike some other primary mixers. Regarding my last purchase: I do like the buy one, get one with a coupon count off prices, { When that happens} And, for me these liquitex basics acrylics can often give very good tones and shades, unlike some other primary mixers. The color that I actually purchased, which is not represented in the purchased list, is a "Neon type of pink", "Don't tell anyone", it is sort of a vintage color and I hope that it does not disappear. One of my favorite similar shades is Opera pink, and that color is not always available. There are a number of other pink shades, including extreme variations to the hot pink and neon color. Actually, I have found differences between , almost all of the brands of acrylic I have tried, that are offered in bright pink or hot pink or neon. Some are more matte similar to a lipstick pink. The one I prefer has what appears to be, almost a hot yellow or orange edge, to the brightest shade of neon pink? Maybe it is a sort of blued version? Since, I do prefer a specific shade in use, but can not always recognize it or tell it, when trying to shop in store. Actually the one offered by the Liquitex brand, looked more of a match to my ideal. When I purchase the neon color before, it was a little flat? Anyway, I do appreciate these , and they are equivalent to some of the Master's brands of acrylics.
note when you get this that itâs âtransparent MIXING WHITEâ; I attempted to seal a color with it and it was a little too much white. It will be perfect for image transfers that I havenât had much luck with as of yet. Looking forward to using it in situations where a transparent background is needed. It does mix nicely but (by its name) is not opaque like titanium white, but is much more transparent. It needs to be used in specific situations like gel prints...thatâs the primary reason I got it for.

Never received this tube of paint. I ordered it. They sent it to a store miles away which I planned on picking up. Then I received a text THANK YOU GOR YOUR PICK UP! I called the store numerous times and they never picked up the phone. Both stores. My store and the Southington store. So I wasnât going to make a big deal of it for a tube of paint, and I needed that color, so I was in another art store and lo and behold, there it was. Buy one get one!! Bought 6.
i have recently started using flourescents in my artwork. i finally found the best ones for my techniques. i especially love the color of basics flourescent blue. it has a prpoerty of transparency which is what i want: glazes over underpaintings that reveal brush strokes. really nice! so glad to have discovered this particular product! its a star in my pallette!
im a professional artist. i use acrylics along with latex paints. each have different properties. im super happy with the BASICS line of acrylics especially the flourescents. i keep on hand extra tubes of flourescent red pink orange green and blue. they are amazing. i have an art show on now of my paintings strongly representing basics flourescents. the viewers are astounded. i cant paint without flo red. its my staple. thank you for my materials found at my local michaels! and thanks for lowering prices and sales and coupons!
