Growing up in a poor New York neighbourhood, Cedric Errol appears to be a normal American boy. However, as he discovers when he meets his grandfather, the Earl of Dorincourt, he is actually Lord Fauntleroy, and is expected to become an English gentleman. Whisked away from his mother and his friends, Cedric must find a way to convince his grandfather to send him home and show him that there is more to nobility than titles and wealth. First published in 1886, Little Lord Fauntleroy was Frances Hodgson Burnett's first children's novel, and was hugely popular in its day. It contains many of the themes that would recur in her masterpiece The Secret Garden, and remains a witty and charming tale of a transatlantic clash of cultures.

I love the beautiful language of Frances Hodgson Burnett. A little unrealistic to have the little boy be so perfect and lovable, but it doesn't matter.

Excellent book. A true classic worth a read.
Brilliant book. Wish I'd read it years ago when I was a child.
Excellent read well written great story
The book is in almost perfect condition. A very enjoyable read. It reminds me of middle school when we had to read either "The Secret Garden " (girls) or "Little Lord Fauntleroy " (boys) and write a book report. So nice to finally read it.
I looked in my e mail files and note I have previously rated this item. Even though the book is slightly used it still looks good and illustrations by Graham Rust are wonderful. I now have all three FHB books he illustrated, something I always wanted. Thanks. Rob
Haven't read one of these books in years so makes a nice change and made me smile. Will probably buy another one like this soon.
great reading for all ages.
