Little Tikes Story Dream Machine

I have been eying this product at Wal-Mart for a month or more. I finally bought one for my classroom (I teach lower elementary reading). I thought this would be great for an incentive or a center activity. I am so in love with this product. It brings up nostalgia in me when I was a little boy laying in my bed at night listening to books on tape. Though, I didn't have the projector, I just had tapes that read to me. This projector isn't too shabby and the sound is decent. This product also works as a night light and sound machine. I just love the little characters you put on top that changes the colors of the night light. I am so in love with this product. I hope they continue to make more cartridges with stories.

We were gifted this for my son's birthday (No I do not have a receipt), he loves it! However, most of the time the slides do not advance. The audio portion continues with the story, my son is too young to realize it does not match the slide, so he still enjoys it. Unfortunately, this is not how the product is supposed to work. We have a handful of different stories and it does the same with 90% of them. I think there is one story that still work appropriately. It also takes a very long time to load the story once placed in the play and does not start on the correct slide once it is "loaded." We have changed the batteries to energizer batteries. This product also goes through batteries very quickly. Usually have to replace them every other week. This is such an awesome toy and learning device for smaller kids. My child is 4 years old and she “plays” with this everyday. This is very easy for my child to use all by herself. This doubles as a book reading machine and white noise and light. This works like a projector and projector the pages of the book on the wall or ceiling or wherever you like. Also, there is a voice that reads the actual book to the child. And I noticed the more she has a book to her the more she remembers it and can recognize the words and letters herself.
