Bought these for a gravel bikePro:- excellent grip, even when wet your palm just sticks to them- thickness absorbs vibrations very well- quality bar plugsCon:- thickness makes them really difficult to wrap properly- the adhesive band comes off- the pattern on them makes it difficult to clean- price is a bit on the steep side

Mine has started to delaminate after less than 100 miles. The top layer has separated from the foam at the bend in my drops where my palms contact the tape. This has left a big sticky spot. Also the tape is really not very strong and almost immediately began to move and reveal the bars. A tighter winding might have helped, but I was already running out of tape when I applied it.It is pretty comfortable though. I will probably be returning to get something else.

LizardSkins is particularly known for their tape being tricky to install, especially this thicker one. If you manage to wrap it, it's nice on feel and cushioned well. I failed to do so and had to bin £30 tape and get a different one. It clearly states to not stretch the tape, however, wrapping such thick tape without stretching around the levers and bends of the tops is particularly tricky if you don't want any gaps. Admittedly I have stretched one of the two tapes a bit too much, causing the left side of my handlebars to be much thinner than the right with the same amount of overlap. Having cut it, it was impossible to re-do so I decided to not go about with 2 different looking sides of the bar and had to bin it. Get this tape if you have dealt with Lizard Skins before, know the technique to work with it and forget about figure 8 wrap. It's a shame as the side of the bar I wrapped second having learned my lesson looked great but didn't want to risk another 30 quid for one more set of tape.

Super tacky, even with really sweaty hands. A bit tricky to install because you can’t really stretch it like a cork tape. You can get it taut, but not really wound up. Luckily it’s really forgiving about being removed and rewrapped. The adhesive backing stays sticky but isn’t so sticky that it ruins the tape when you pull it up. The finishing tape is remarkably reusable, too. I probably pulled it off and retaped it a dozen times and it the tape sticks like new.One weird thing: I washed my bike, using some auto wash liquid and water, and it just ruined the wrap. Even after extensive rinsing the tape felt slimy and water got under the tape and it started sliding around on the bar. Even after extensive rinsing the tape felt slimy and water got under the tape and it started sliding around on the bar. I ended up taking it completely off, cleaned it with some alcohol and let everything dry. I rewrapped the bars and it was the best wrap I’d gotten yet. So no harm done, but it does make me wonder what would happen getting caught out in heavy rain.
I bought this tape as I am not the best wrapping non-adhesive tapes. The adhesive strip was quite dry and not very tacky to the touch after peeling back the paper strip. The instructions also state Not to stretch. Maybe 2 rides in they started to unwrap, the whole way along the bars. I may have got a bad batch, the tape is lovely, but be prepared to wrap them dry.
This tape doesn't come with enough to wrap my entire bars which are particularly wide (50cm Cowchipper). I like the feel of this tape and it provides a good amount fo cushion, but if you have a wide ATB/gravel bar you likely won't have enough tape to get to the tapered section in the middle. That was frustrating and had me ready to give 2 stars. It earned an extra star due to a screw-in bar plug.
I have tried dozens of bar tape; Lizard Skin, 2.5 mm is the best I have used on my Addict RC15 Race Bike. It dampens road vibrations, it of long length. Care must be taken to not stretch the tapeGood service by TradeInn
I've used cork tape for years and decided to try something new. Having weighed up the myriad of offerings I went for the Lizard Skins DSP V2. It was a wee bit more expensive than others on offer, but I'd read and heard this was good, so grabbed me some. Easy to install (first time with screw in bar-ends) which needed a bit of trimming (good video on You Tube - Park Tools give a master class on fitting it!). It looks awesome and is wonderfully grippy in both wet and dry conditions. I've only done a couple hundred miles with it so far but looks like I've also been missing on some added wrirst suspension too! Highly satisfied with this and feels like it's going to last too!
My previously fitted Bontrager bar tape in Catalyst Orange needed replacing but that colour was no longer available so had to choose something different.Went for the Lizard Skins DSP in 3.2mm which I now think is too thick, maybe the 2.5mm version would have been a better option. The screw in bar end plugs supplied are not as one would expect. They are a bit like a DIY wall plug where the screw forces the plug apart, they didn't hold in my bars !!Having fitted many different makes of bar tape on various bikes I've never had any issues before. The end of the bar would not tuck in neatly as there was a loose piece of the thin bright orange edging flapping about. In the end the only option was to wrap black tape around the end then fitted some hard black plugs I ... MoreMy previously fitted Bontrager bar tape in Catalyst Orange needed replacing but that colour was no longer available so had to choose something different.Went for the Lizard Skins DSP in 3.2mm which I now think is too thick, maybe the 2.5mm version would have been a better option. I chose a thick option thinking it would be gentler on the hands with the appalling road surfaces in Hampshire. Followed a lizard skins you tube video to fit. I for the first time decided to use the small piece supplied behind the controls but due to the overall thickness it was frustratingly bulky. The vdeo highlight not to put too much force as it could stretch, o i didnt and not happy with result, so much so i have since bought 2.5mm to see if it produces better job and wil do fig 8 rather than bother with small section behind controls. Comfort wise good but not happy with appearance..
