This After-Shave Balm leaves a light perfume on the skin, scented with lavender notes, mixed with the peppery and nutmeggy notes of burnt wood. Enriched with shea butter, glycerin of vegetable origin and birch tree extract, this After-Shave Balm helps to: Hydrate and soothe the skin after shaving. Reduce feelings of irritation and tightness caused by shaving. Tone and protect the skin from external aggressions. Its fresh texture is rapidly absorbed without leaving an oily film on the skin. The L’Occitan range celebrates classic Provence and its men. The intense blue of the fields of lavender, the red soil of Roussillon, the sun that tans the skin, the siesta in the shade of the olive trees. The very rawness of the scents of Provence are reflected in the L’Occitan collection. While exploring his native Provence nearly 25 years ago, Olivier Baussan created L’Occitane by capturing the region’s most subtle fragrances and blending them with natural ingredients. Using the traditional method of extraction, he developed L’Occitane’s very first products based on essential oils extracted from local plants. From his rustic roots in Provence, Olivier dreamed of discovering new horizons, to travel beyond his native land and experience other cultures. In keeping with this spirit, L’Occitane developed a humanitarian-partnership with African women. In the Burkina Faso village in Africa, the native women harvest Shea nuts and are the co-producers of L’Occitane’s complete Shea Butter Collection. Thus, it is a tale of Provence meets Africa on ethical grounds. Today, L’Occitane focuses on protecting the fading traditions and vanishing techniques that everyone should be enjoying. L’Occitane breathes new life into these authentic customs by recreating the genuine articles such as its famous “Marseilles Soaps” as well as the revival of its Verbena and Lavender Harvests each year.

L'Occitane products are incredible, and this shave Balm is no exception! It smells absolutely amazing and helps provide soothing moisture for all skin types. My fiancé loves this, but I also steal it often to use on my legs to keep bumps/razor burn at bay! Pricey, but definitely worth the investment if you're looking for a luxurious, incredible-smelling and feeling shave balm. Highly recommended!

I apply this product to my entire face but use a very tiny amount . It's worked very well at keeping my skin looking noticeably less dry and doesn't aggravate or create pimples or other skin issues. Has a very nice subtle smell.

High-qualiity ingredients; feels great and has a sophisticated but classic scent.

I knew I liked the "Original" L'Occitane scent and was looking for a quality aftershave after I ran low on my last drugstore purchase. This small size is nice - you can give it a try without spending a ton up front. I'll definitely get the larger size next time, though; this is a soothing, great-smelling after shave that absorbs quickly.

I love the smell. I love the way it makes my skin feel after shaving. No other after shave balm comes close, and I've tried many since so many L'Occitane boutiques have closed.

Mistake to change the formulation and scent.
15 June 2020

When something is not broken you should not attempt to fix it. The original formulation worked very well and had a manly yet not over powering scent. The new formulation is quite strong and given that we put in on our faces it was a mistake to change it. I have been a loyal user for many years and now need to find another brand. I called the company to express my concern and get the same excuse I have received in the past when they have changed a product. They always indicate it was reformulated to be more Eco friendly. Does that mean it was not Eco friendly previously? I do not believe that is the case and it is the typical answer that is provided. If the formulation ever goes back I would continue to use however this new formulation is out for me! At a minimum it ... MoreWhen something is not broken you should not attempt to fix it. For some time now, I use the Cade Shaving Soap, the l'Occitan apres-shaving balm, and l'Occitan Eau nDe Toilette every morning and love the skin care feeling, refreshing scent. Often have compliments from the scent. Also use l'Occitan shower gel, which am happy to have found in a refill format.

I purchased this without really looking at the item description. The picture showed a bottle of aftershave. So when aftershave balm arrived I was a little disappointed.

Unfortunate changes to a great product...
13 October 2020

I have been a fan of L'Occitane products for many years! I have been using this After-Shave Balm and the Cade After-Shave Balm for probably about 15 years. I always loved the texture and the way that it made my skin feel after shaving. After mostly using the Cade Balm for at least the past 10 years, I was disappointed to read so many negative reviews... Unfortunate destruction of a good product
23 September 2021

Have been using this product for years and was surprised to see that the degraded the quality drastically. The smell is not close to what it was and even does not feel the same. Its unfortunate, need to find a different brand. The store rep. convinced me that this is just a packiging change, but I am sure this it not the same product I used for years.

Used product for years, but the scent change is unacceptabl.
12 March 2021

I have used Cade for many years, and I would have always given it a 5-star rating, but the new scent is unacceptable. It makes me smell like someone's grandmother. The soothing properties on the skin are it's only saving grace. I may switch to Baux for my next purchase, but that will be many months out since the product lasts forever.
