Genuine Loctite products are top quality and can be relied upon. I use Loctite for work purposes and as long as you use the correct grade for the job there will be no regrets. The knockoffs out there are cheap and they simply don't do the same job.

Recently I have found that the Chinese eBay 401 is different. It doesn't seem to matter who i purchase from. Viscosity is different, holding power is reduced. We have gone back to buying USA 401 it is works just fine. As with many Chinese knock-offs, maintaining good quality seems difficult. I do not recommend purchasing the eBay Chinese Loctite 401.

It's proper super glue, at a fair price and delivered very quickly. It forms an indestructible bond. The glue is easily manoeuvrable for 15-30 seconds, and then it locks up hard and tight. It's not cheap, but 'if you pay peanuts you get monkeys' . . . or rubbish.

It's proper super glue, at a fair price and delivered very quickly. It forms an indestructible bond. The glue is easily manoeuvrable for 15-30 seconds, and then it locks up hard and tight. It's not cheap, but 'if you pay peanuts you get monkeys' . . . or rubbish.
Much stronger than standard "Krazy Glue". The only drawback; it is black, very black, not clear but black. Got it? Black. Thickness? Thinner than thick "instant glue", slightly thicker than "thin" instant glue. It is very easy to work with.
Loctite 401 is handy for a quick fix but the price is a bit on the high side should be around the $ 6.00 mark. It's usefull but not the absolute solution, depending on what you are trying to glue together!!
I used to work in a food plant and they had a machine that was driven by a rubber O'ring looking belt. Any time the belt broke, it would take an hr and a half to replace it. I thought, there has to be a better way. So I contacted The Loctite Co.and discussed it with them. I told them what the application that I needed, so they recommended this 401 Loctite. From then on. when ever the belt broke,they would trim the end as recommended and glue it and in a couple of minutes they had the machine up and running thus saving valuable down time. The Co. never had the decency to give me any kind of a reward or even as much as a thank you for researching and getting it shipped to us. Every since that experience. I got this glue because it was supposed to grip nylon better than regular instant glue. I was even assured by Locktite that it would work better on nylon. The initial grab was good but as soon as it dried, no strength whatsoever and the joined pieces easily came apart. So unfortunately i can't recommend it based on my application.
I've been using this to glue small metal parts, and it's fast, reliable, strong. It isn't exactly a gell, but it isn't runny either. It's as strong as the better watery cyanoacrylate glues, but just a little easier to work with. I can't tell the difference between this and the Loctite 401 with the conventional retail label. I don't think it's a knock off, seems legit.
