I use this in my gun smith hobby. It is extremely good adhesive and rivals brazing or silver soldering in its holding ability.
Product is as described. Product works well and is reliable.
Used it to secure a loose valve guide in an aluminum cylinder head. Valve was a push fit but this secured it so it wouldn't come loose when the head warmed up.
Used as directed and after the 24 hour cure time, it was still wet and did not adhere at all. Not sue what the problem is.
Product required for bolt installations in my aircraft. It is NOT readily available so that it was great to find it for sale in small bottles for us only occasional users. The stuff is dated so a large bottle would be useless for me.
Saved me $400 on a new planer motor. I used it to take up some gap on bearing ID and the pulley ID. Time will tell about longevity, but the planer motor runs perfectly smooth now. (used on a SKF 6205 bearing, 7/8" dia shaft and pulley and 5 mm keyway.)
I use this retaining compound in my gunsmithing business almost daily. Outstanding adhesion on small parts when a one or two screw threads isn't enough. Loctite is a quality product. I use red, blue, green, and the retaining compound.
I use this to install front sights on handguns and some other higher heat areas in ar15s, etc. it works very well for what I use it for. It is as close to a permanent thread lock as you need to get. With proper manipulation and tool fitting, it can be released. Highly recommended.
