I've been using this wok a lot for almost 4 years. It's solid cast iron. Big, heavy and rugged but once it's hot, it stays at temperature even if you add a ton of cold veggies. or your favorite stir fry sauce. Like all cast iron, it will become non-stick with use but since most recipes will use a little oil so this is never a problem. I just wipe my out, give it a hot water rinse it and dry it. The only problem you'll ever have with this wok is where to store it. - As I said, it big and it's heavy

I bought this in December and when it arrived it sure did not disappoint. It works great! I am so glad I got it. My veggies get sautéed evenly and when I added sausage to the veggies my meal was delicious and ready in no time. I love this wok. It is a bit heavy but I expected that.

A 16 pizza pan is a perfect cover to have handy in case of the oil overheating and coming into a flame. There was no smoking of the oil. I was cooking at 390 to 400 and still practicing with the temp controls. A 12 inch glass lid works well too even though it sets slightly inside the wok.This is a great addition to any passionate chef’s home kitchen…enjoy.PS: It even has a gong sound if bumped.

I've been using this wok a lot for almost 4 years. It's solid cast iron. Big, heavy and rugged but once it's hot, it stays at temperature even if you add a ton of cold veggies. or your favorite stir fry sauce. Like all cast iron, it will become non-stick with use but since most recipes will use a little oil so this is never a problem. I just wipe my out, give it a hot water rinse it and dry it. The only problem you'll ever have with this wok is where to store it. - As I said, it big and it's heavy

This is a great wok, to cook fried rice/ saute vegetables. Occasionally I use it as a fryer, because of it's concave shape needs less oil to work with. I have a number of Lodge cast iron utensils, replacing my non-stick ware gradually with these. The cleanup is not that difficult, if you do it right after cooking. Another tip, if you cook anything tart/acidic, remove food immediately to another serving bowl so that not too much iron leaches into the food. Otherwise, it's great as a serving bowl as well, keeps food warm. And freshly prepared food tastes so much better, with the crispiness that the cast iron adds. One of the main differences, using non-stick vs cast iron is that for non-stick you need to use oil before you heat up the pan. Heavy but versatile wok

This is cast iron, so it is heavy which means I stir NOT shake it when stir frying. It is the perfect size for a wok with enough room to stir food and to push food up its side.I have a collection of Lodge cast iron pieces, including 3 skillets from the Lodge Blacklock line. This wok has the smoothest finish compared to all my other Lodge pieces.I bought the Lodge GL 10 glass lid to use with this wok. This lid has 2 lips. The lower lip fits on this wok so the lid sits high. I wish Lodge makes a true-fitting carbon steel lid for this wok in the future.Thus far, I had used this wok to stir fry, braise and simmer food. I only had it for a month.I like this wok very much.

Look no more! It's totally awesome. It so versatile in it use, you can saute,deep fry,and boil in it, you can literally cook anything in it. Especially, anything that requires high heat. I cook lots of chinese and indian dishes and its mind blowing how good the results are, and its priced just right its lowest at walmart.com. If you do lots of outdoor cooking or choice of having only one pot to cook this would be it. Only downside is wished somehow this thing had handle attached. It gets hot pretty fast. i don't know its just gives beautiful flavor to the food you cook in it. Every foodie and every cook should own one.

This is a Made in USA item, TOP quality in every way! HEAVY cast iron for even heating, pre-seasoned for non-stick. This is a future family heirloom! I've just begun to learn Asian cooking, and this wok makes it easy for this newbie to get rave reviews. Well, I've had my new wok for about a week-and-a-half, and used it about half a dozen times. So far it's been wonderful. Naturally it's a bit heavy, which is a good thing if you like your wok to stay stationary, but not so much if you're given to moving the pan around as you stir or serve up its contents. Along with being heavy, it's just large, and when use on an electric (coil) stove top (which I have) the two factors do combine to make for a significant temperature difference as you move from the center of the wok. (I'm not sure if other stove tops work the same way or not.)Naturally it takes the slight additional care that's goes with iron cookware. Stable and reliable hot wok - slower than traditional wok

The wok works well and is good value if you are looking for this kind of wok rather than a traditional speedy one. With its flat base and heaviness you don't have to worry about slipping on an ordinary stove stop. But it also means you can only use a wok spatula while cooking because shaking the wok is not possible. While it takes longer than a traditional wok to warm up, once it is hot it keeps the heat well even when you throw in more (cold) ingredients. Nice larger size too - so less slopping of veges over the side. :-)

Dad is a big fan of LODGE cookware. Wok is a perfect size.Dad also makes the best spaghetti sauces and soups in the cast iron wok.Service at the Malaga store is always excellent. Ladies know their stuff. Looking forward to Fathers Day 2024.
