High Quality Cast Iron

So nice to finally have cast iron pans again. Nothing fries up a steak or burgers like cast iron. I just wish it weren't so heavy. Lodge is the best.

Life time non stick pans

Stop wasting time and o we spending on non stick coated cookware. Cast iron is the healthy way to cook and by the second or third use the pans will be one of your best life time purchases. Good value for money compared to the other expensive brands.

Lodge cast iron cookware

I cook with these almost every day. I do most all of the cooking at our house and I believe that you can’t beat cast iron skillets for preparing meals. The Lodge brand comes preseasoned and ready to use. I do use my All-clad SS pots with these (especially for foods containing tomato products), but I still use my Lodge Dutch oven for roasts and stews.

I haven't used the griddle yet, but the 2 skillets (or frying pans) are amazing. I really love cooking with cast iron; I can't vouch for other cast iron brands, but all the hype around Lodge is definitely warranted.

SeasoningCast-iron skillets don't emerge from the box with a nonstick surface. That comes with seasoning, or coating the skillet with cooking oil and baking it in a 350° F oven for an hour. It won't take on that shiny black patina just yet, but once you dry it with paper towels, it will be ready to use. You'll reinforce the nonstick coating every time you heat oil in the skillet, and you can hasten the process by seasoning as often as you like.CleaningA cast-iron skillet isn't ideal for a set-aside-to-soak sort of person. For best results, rinse the pan with hot water immediately after cooking.
